Where is the best place I can get the parts thats not too expensive (Swithces, *springs, switch tops, stickers)
I live in the US..

http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/ sells pretty reasonably priced switches.

You can get springs from Sprit's spring group buy:

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=55888.0

Stabilizers are available in Ivan's group buy:

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=60789.0;topicseen

Not sure about stickers except for from gonskeyboardworks.com, but shipping might not make that worth your while...

Switches and springs you can get on classifieds or sprit gb for springs.  I'm not going to bother with tops/stickers but I believe some vendor sites have stickers but not really sure about tops (most likely classifieds).

You can get stickers and clear switch tops on http://techkeys.us/collections/accessories although the tops are quite expensive with 50 cents per piece.

I've been working through my log of projects, so I am happy to announce the following:

I will assemble one for someone for free. I don't have much else going on, I have a new soldering station to test out, and I want to get a good look at one of these :P

For the stablizers and springs from the gb, will i get the part right away? Or do i have to wait?

I count 37 already on there since he last updated it.  I wouldn't ask questions and just order it now incase this is all we get (who knows if they will produce more).  It might already be sold out of the premade ones by now and he hasnt updated it yet.

I remember reading that but since he also didn't list the number of them in the OP one could interpret that as all orders will be filled, but once they are closed no more will be produced.

Especially since it also says:
There are 40 Vipers and 30 Eagles cases that are made already
which one can take as a hint that more will be produced if the demand meets it.

So basically...half-life 3 is confirmed?

lololol yeah who knows. Lightsaver got an order limit extension from 15 -> 30, so maybe that could happen here. But for those of you on the fence, now is not the time to wait! ACT NOW!

I kinda doubt there will be any such thing as "ones that still have to be made." They sold these in a Korean group buy, and Duck most likely had these extras made to sell in this very buy. Usually when that happens, when the units are sold, they are just gone, and no more will be made, unless there were to be another round of sales, in say a year from now.

I understood it as "we already have some for the first people, the ones that come later have to wait for theirs to be made". But if it is like you said then my question is obsolete :D

Unfortunately, having a run of say 20-30 PCBs manufactured after you already had 200 delivered is cost prohibitive. You lose the volume tiers, and wouldn't be able to sell them for the same price. Same goes for cases, etc.

You can't even have WoB dye sub (which most pbt are).  He may have just been riding the hype that almost everyone experiences when they first start looking into keycaps.  Something along the lines of pbt>abs and thickness makes keycaps godly.

Yep.

I'm still under the impression that thick keycaps ate godly. Thick pbt, double shots, it's all amazing.

First off these are pcb mounted stabs you need.  And the stabilizers you need depends on what layout you want.  But you will need a spacebar, left shift, enter, and potential backspace+right shift depending on what layout you prefer.

I'm pretty sure the orders are unlimited.

Yayyy. I may be able to get one later.

Confirmation on this please sir Elton?? :D
yeah I would like to know this as well. If it's unlimited, maybe I don't have to rush and make my purchase.

Unlimited is the number of order for GH in this GB, that doesnt mean there will ever be any Viper/Eagle made after the buy I believe. This GB is your only chance to buy these baby.

Yo Elton will Duck have off-stock of v2 lightsaber stuff?
Kinda like the minis/kingsaver?
Curious after the "unlimited" remark.

where are you guys getting stabs from?

Ivan has a gb for stabs right now. I think it would probably arrive before this GB ships.

I also ordered an extra set from GON's website when I got my NerD TKL.
He does?

Where?

So we'd need a:

7x plate mount space bar stab
(2) 2x plat mount stab for the left shift and the enter key?
First off these are pcb mounted stabs you need.  And the stabilizers you need depends on what layout you want.  But you will need a spacebar, left shift, enter, and potential backspace+right shift depending on what layout you prefer.

I mean for a viper in hhkb layout

The OP says that a plate is included

Does the 1.75x right shift need a stab? I assume the backspace is 1.5x or something on a hhkb layout
