Well, since you posted it again, I had to go through your pictures again.  So good looking and such great photos.  I do miss having a giant rig, so fun to get it dialed and just right.  I think my next case might be one of these Geeek cases mini itx cases.  It reminds me of the old Danger Den cases (I never should have sold mine).  When tax returns come next year, I will probably pull the trigger on this and an itx 970 gpu.

My new build. Posted this in the desk/setup thread but it's better suited here.

Intel i7 skylake 6700k
Corsair H110 CPU cooler
MSI Z170a Gaming Pro
G.Skill Tridentz 2x8Gb DDR4 3000mhz
GIGABYTE GTX 970 Gaming Windforce Edition
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
Western Digital Black 2TB HDD
XFX 750watt 80+ Gold PSU
Corsair Graphite Series 780T Full Tower
BenQ 27" 2560x1440 IPS Monitor

EDIT: Various stages of the build/cable management and apparently my front fans are racist.

Big old bump.

New case: Fractal Design Nano S.

Changed it up a bit from my Corsair 250D.  Tried to give it a go in mimicking a full atx build with shruncken down parts.  Great case to build in.

Those cases look so nice.  I'm just not ready to go ITX.
I'm still rocking a Define R4.  Best case I've ever owned.  I hope Fractal will finally one day release a updated version of their Define Mini.
I would consider going Micro ATX for my next build.

I was going for that same card and ended up getting a Strix. I love the simplicity of the EVGA. The strix is a little flashy.

I thought of the Strix for a moment, but the Asus Support is the worst imaginable here in Germany. I had problems with my Sapphire R9 390 before and it took them almost 6 weeks to send me a credit note so I can order a new card.

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

noobas4urus.... i generally don't like LED designs but i am very jealous of that.

Here is a weird one. For the first time since Athlon XP and Radeon 9800 Pro were cool, I bought a prebuilt computer. Sold the G4400/Z170M build I put together in November for a HP Z420 Workstation, loaded up, and then I tossed in a SSD, extra 16GB to bring it to 32GB ECC RAM (this is cool to have finally), 90% efficient Delta Electronics 600W PSU, s*** tons of PCIe slots, rear power button next to the PS/2 ports, genius airflow and a simply killer case. I think this is the first time in my life I bought a prebuilt because I loved the case and not for an Apple to rip apart and use for the case. It also came with a Quadro K2000, swapped that out with a brand new 1050 sc, as all I need are dual 1440p support and I do play CS:GO but nothing else. 1050 sc is more than enough for that. For good measure, I also added my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD as well.

It will probably get a cpu upgrade eventually but it is comparable in performance to my best current gen i7 rig. That i7 will get sold shortly to make money for a Ryzen build as this machine I am fully in love with.

Potato pics, I have no real camera:

edit : please accept my apologies, not fully cleaned the case yet...

Normally i find the innards of factory built pcs to be very suboptimal and uninspiring. But, from the motherboard to the cooling system, it reminds me of the days of G4 and G5. I do love this machine. It is nearly silent even with the bios minimum fan speed set from 10 to 50%. For only having one rear and one CPU fan i was so surprised to see it never break 100f under max load.  Guess i don't have to redo paste yet. There are truly no compromises... None.

Updated my rig with four WD Red hard drives, and an intel 7260 bluetooth/wifi card since these pictures. Next upgrade is probably a TPM module and one of those new and really fancy Samsung 960 m.2 SSDs. But aside from that, here's what it looked like last year:
