I just got very thirsty reading that.  Speaking of wonderful beers, we walked over to Mission Brewery after SDCC and had a cask Dark Seas Russian Imperial Stout with Espresso - so good!

It probably depends on what other keys you want to combine these with. It will probably look great with most combinations.

All I want to know is what it looks like with Cyrilic: :P

I think it is going to look great with light or dark color alphas.  Part of the reason I went with this color was to give it a classic overall look, but still match the vast majority of existing colors out there.

Yea, I have been sloshing around alphas color schemes in my head, and a lot of options potentially can look good.

ALPS ABS doubshot group buy on Massdrop. Black/Olivetti/Dolch
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/alps-keycaps

High MOQ of 500. Hopefully they make it.

Not sure what kind of stabilizers on these. Olivetti will go nice with these blue modifiers.

I'll be interested to see how it plays out.  The only boards you could use them on are vintage, Matias, Keyboard Paradise, or the Infinity, off the top of my head.  500 is asking a lot, considering the lukewarm interested we have seen so far.

What about the Ergodox? I realize all caps won't fit, but is there any way we can get people running an Ergodox GB?
I'm interested in the Infinity Ergodox redrop in September, and I'm planning on getting either Matias Click or Quiet, not sure which yet. I've already ordered the Olivette and Dolch in preparation.

For the switches? Didn't the Infinity version come with Matias as an option? Or are you talking about caps?

aww. There are five or six in the wild. Somebody filed one of my aluminum plates out so they could make an ALPSdox. Then recommended no one else do that because wow was it time consuming.

But we've nailed down, I think, the shape of an ergodox-ALPS plate .dxf so, yeah it could happen.

Those Massdrop Alps caps look very thin. Probably shouldn't complain for $20, but I personally don't need any more thin ABS keycaps for any switch type.

I think a huge part of it is pricing too.

I didn't take part in this for several reasons-- stabilizer compatibility, a poor stylistic match with the rest of the board I use, but most of all the price.  You're getting *some modifiers* and it costs as much as a cheap Kailh-switch board from China.

For the same price, the Tai Hao option gives you two complete 104-key sets.  A lot can be forgiven for that.  (personally-- I LIKE Tai Hao's typography better than SP's if you're not doing spherical caps)

I'm trying to decide if I should go for it or not... I know they won't fit right on my Tactile Pro, but I could potentially build a Leeku 3000 or GH-122 to fit them.

I hear where you are coming from about the price.  I worked for a long time to get the most compatibility for the least $$ for my set, but it is difficult when you are doing an uncommon mount.  There are too many different layouts (most with that damn big-ass enter) and then the fact that space bars are hard to come by.

My personal opinion is that SP DCS caps are pretty thin themselves, but one can't be too picky when it comes to Alps caps!

I am in this buy for the sake of getting alps stuff out there in the wild. It won't do any good for us alps guys if we don't support these buys. They're not very good quality caps but for 20 bucks it's worth it. Still hoping to see some nicer caps from Matias. I got to meet them in person and they're really nice guys.

I guess we can expect to see V60's with these in the future.

How different is oem vs dcs.  would mixing the sets suck. Or is it negligible and I wouldn't notice too much.  Also begs the question of which set would look the best with blue modifiers.

You'd definitely notice. It was so bad for me I sold my OEM Alpha set. DCS vs Cherry is negligible.

Sorry, forgot that that statement was for MX. I'm not sure about Alps. We'll find out.

I was told 4-6 weeks for production and we are currently at 3.5 weeks (order placed on 7/14).  I will update the thread when I hear anything.

Does anyone have a set of stock Matias caps to compare profiles against SP DCS? I'm curious how well the profiles will match.

Not right now, but I'll probably need to purchase some here eventually.  Got a couple Alps boards that need caps.

Good idea. I'll wait until these arrive before selling my MQP, and take a few snappy snaps
