hi Geek Hack! I thought it would be fun to share with everyone what keyboard you have your eye set on for 2016. It can be old, current or upcoming!

Personally, My first MK will be here end of Jan and the white fox in April. If all goes well I think I wanna jump on Topre next christmas!

Probably one more 60% then I'll call it a year.

Reason being I have an alu case lying around somewhere but still undecided on the switches yet. Clicky or tactile? I'm done with linear for the moment.

firstly, to obtain a carrying case for HHKB since I'm carrying it around all the time now for use with my Surface Pro3.

Most importantly, build my first board from the ground up. I will get to this in the Summer since I'm booked up for all of the first quarter this year.

I want to do something, that I neglected in 2015: get rid of nearly all my keyboards, and start over from scratch. I'd like to try and perhaps keep only a few very specific boards:

Phantom w/ 7bit's layout, Gateron switches and SA keycaps
a custom keyboard hand-wired in dual-hand Maltron case
Axios and keyboard.io Model 01, if they're released in reasonable price range
a custom keyboard w/ Matias switches and a symmetrical-stagger layout similar to NEC M-System keyboard

I did this with classic video games. It was a very liberating thing.

Finish the two terminal boards I have left to do, and finish a 1391401 with that APL set I have left over when my nephew was using the 1394204 keyboard. Then I am pretty much finished.

...and one more project left over from last year. Parts is parts, as they say.

To start experimenting with making my own keycaps, had some design ideas between my partner and I that we'd like to make a reality. From there, make my own keyboard (for the most part).

To stop using my right index finger on space, with the way I type I'm convinced 142wpm is my absolute limit.

I'd like to learn DVORAK as well :V

My 2016 keyboard resolutions:

To remember that, while it's great to have MKs, you can also enjoy typing on, for example, a Dell QuietKey. As with many kinds of experiences, I think the most important thing is your attitude.

To become better friends with my wife again. (There must be some way I can work keyboards into that... Type her some sweet emails?)

To be kind to my more Asperger-y friends here—and remember that, yes, there are people in the world to whom things like keycaps with little faces carved into them are as important as life itself. :?)

I'd like to try out Topre. Still undecided of going Novatouch way (because of the keycaps options) or an actual full-Topre board (Leopold, maybe?). SO MANY options, so little money.

Also, waiting to see what happens with Wooting keyboard.

My goal is to finally have the balls to buy Hypersphere's Topre silece rings.

With Canadian dollar so low + shipping + customs, those rings cost quite a lot here like pretty much half price to another Realforce.

But I still want to get to it eventually.
