This is GMK Slate.

The name Slate is a reference to both the color of the set, as well as the ability to mix and match this set with pre-existing ones for unique aesthetics. Slate can be as subtle or as extravagant as you want it to be, custom-tailored to the theme of your keyboard. Utilizing the shades between 9009 / Muted / OG Cherry sets and the Dolch family, this GMK keyset provides a rock solid base on which to customize upon.

Also offered alongside GMK Slate, are CMYK modifiers, PB modifiers, and a TU2 spacebar kit.

Two of the colors are featured along with the GMK Slate base kit (GMK V1 and Pantone 2726C). The third color, represented by GMK TU2, is available in a separate spacebar pack.

The CMYK modifier pack is a favorite in the community, and it's bright colors make a statement like none other. The kit we've crafted together includes much better compatibility than previous CMYK kits, with a new addition of both purple (DV) and orange (V2) keys to flourish your bottom row accents.

How do Cartel group buys work?

When you join a group buy with us, you will not be charged at the time you join. Instead, you will create an account and effectively place a pre-order.

Once you join the buy, you will automatically be notified by our system if we make any changes to the price or closing date of any part of the buy. If we reach an MOQ that allows us to reduce the price of a part, your order will be automatically adjusted to match the new price.

What does the packaging look like?

  • Your set of Slate will be protected by a plastic tray from GMK, whilst add-on kits will be protected by shrink wrap. Your entire order will be packaged in a Cartel shipping box, tailored to fit the keyset with ample padding pre-installed.

Is there a place where we can see the total number of orders placed between all of the sites? I like tracking the MOQ to see how close my "purchases" are to coming to fruition.

Real low right now. Excluding proxy sales:

Base: 15
PB: 8
CMYK: 9
TU2 spacebars: 5

Not sure how or if the numbers will pick up, especially after getting such positive responses during IC/teaser phase.

I’ve alreadt joined, but to be honest part of me feels like this should be cancelled and run early next year.

Lots of people have burned their keyboard funds for most of the year, and there is still Christmas expenses.

I also would set the date in advance so people can save their funds and get ready and stuff.

I’m just sad cause I really want this set. I just don’t know that anything other than laser is gonna have much luck right now.

Definitely post on mechmarket and mk. I've not seen anything from you there, and the mods from this in particular are amazing. It's such a great set, it will work with lots of sets combined.

I agree with Amnesia. Running this at a later time might be beneficial.

Most orders usually come in on the first and last few days.

After about a week those MOQ numbers don’t look too promising.

Just my 2 cents.

250 MOQ won't be easy to reach and maybe it's really not the right time at the moment.
As already mentioned you definitely need to promote it on MM and MK every few days.

Yep, doing our best to promote on mm and /r/mk and discord as well. Just seems like people aren't biting, probably largely due to the things aforementioned. We'll discuss it some more and I'll update when we figure out what we're gonna do.

I really think people are just tapped out especially on keycaps right now. MD has had like 5 sets back to back that hit huge numbers, there's been several jtk sets successfully run lately, we're not far removed from several successful runs at keyclack and zfrontier, oco has perpetual stock that saps up people's money continuously without a visible window to schedule around, there's enjoypbt, a billion cheap maxkeys sets, clone sets on taobao out the wazoo etc etc etc.. basically the market is saturated with caps. We're past the point where you have to wait months for the next group buy to get a nice set of caps. Those necessary wait times used to ensure a bunch of people had a need and funds at the same time. Not the case any more.  Not sure how I would approach the situation, I just know the landscape feels different than it did even 6 months ago.

Too Many GMK sets at once.  There was like 6-8 sets running at the same time.   It was hard picking which was a "must" and which wasn't.  I had picked Slate and its sad, but necessary.  I'm sure you have good date planned for round 2.  My suggestion is try to distinguish , or at least, emphasize that GMK Slate is not needed for GMKY Mods or other.  Anyway, can't wait for the second coming!

Yeah, that's what we decided was the factor as well. Plan is to get this going again in the next few months.
