Got mine today, great deal! Not sure I like them, but better than the hodgepodge I had on here before. Sorry for the poor quality pic...
[attachimg=1]
Also... just ordered clear caps for all the grey keys. (May only use them on the letters though... bad habit of looking for symbols sometimes.)

I'M SO MAD RIGHT NOW GRRRRRRR
-
I got these keycaps last night but am experiencing a weird problem with them. The Costar stabilizer inserts from my Quickfire Rapid fit so loosely into the stems that they fall out. As a result the long keys are very wobbly, especially the right shift. These are my first non-Esc keys from Signature Plastics, is this how they always make them?
-
Make a shim out of paper or a piece of plastic bag. Works like a charm.

I had to do the same, everything is good now :D

I don't do the paper shim thing... I drop a dab of my kids school glue in each stem and set it. I've been doing this for a long time. It's just enough to hold, but not enough contact space to prevent you from somewhat easily pulling it out. I've removed/re-glued several times, no problems.

I just end up buying spare stabilizers and attaching them to all my sets... the new ones seem to attach more secure and I dont have to work about swapping in the future.

Thanks, that did the trick. Can't believe I didn't think of that. :-[
-
I used home hot melt glue to fit the stabilizer inserts.. They look good with white on black cherry keycaps :D
-
The scotch tape trip worked perfectly too.
-
I'm assuming it also includes all the F keys, and they just didn't show them for space issues in the photo?
Considering picking these up...anyone else have some nice installed shots they wanna share :p
-

No, what you see in the picture is the entire set.

Only the base kit has the other F keys and they are white.

Ah I see. These still seem pretty cool
-
The set direct from SP actually has no F keys.
With the loose stabilizer stems, I wrap mine with Teflon tape. It takes five minutes and results in a perfect fit.

except it does, F5-F8
-
So they just didn't send me my F keys? WTF.
-
It definitely should have F5-F8. Not sure if anyone else has received them to clarify yet!
-
I have and mine have the F keys

Looks that way.

Your avatar is quite fitting to this post :)

How do you order other keys through sp? Do you have to call or email them? I'm just looking to add an SP profile space bar to my order of the red modifiers :/
-
you can only order caps that are in their inventory. if they are, email sales@keycapsdirect.com the 6-digit inventory product code of the keys you'd like to order. they generally don't keep spacebars in stock though :(
re: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=35399.msg662701#msg662701
email sales, they'll take care of you
-
Thanks. Do they show the prices for the caps in their inventory? Or do you have to ask for a quote?
EDIT: Which spacebar fits filco/leopold/most modern kbs? Which units?
-

you have to get the exact product code from their PDFs. lurk on their site, i don't have the link on hand.
filco/most use 6.25 including leopold BUT if you need a leopold spacebar you need to get what SP calls a universal (6 mount) spacebar and it will only work on Leopold 200, not 500 or 700.

you have to ask for a quote, but generally it's about a dollar a cap. larger caps cost slightly more
-
I liked those modifiers, so I ordered some clear alphas from them to go along:

-
Oh no--I waited too long to pull the trigger on the modifier set and now they are sold out! T_T Ya'll are luckyyyy
-
Oh wow, already sold out. Good thing I got a set :)
-
sold out? yesss! <3 you guys. huge props to everyone who supported SP, and all those who are banging on their doors now for more :)
-
At this price we're basically robbing SP

Why wouldn't we buy, it's a cheap moogle kit or at the least something to spice up an old board. At $18, that's super cheap
-
Damn I should have bought another set!
-
I wish I would have bought two, but I'm sure I'll make due with one :D
-
Ugh....hopping on this train WAY too late....I need some quick and cheap swaps for CM QF Rapid keys and that ugly font....
-
Tracking mine online right now and I should get them today. "out for delivery"
I ordered them last Wed night (9/12) so I am very happy to get them in 3 business days.
-
I got mine super quick. Ordered Monday and got then Wednesday

This is in reference to all the stabilizer stem stuffing mods. After a few days of use I find that doing that has made many of the long keys feel mushy, particularly the right shift. It feels like perhaps the stems are slightly misaligned and the tighter fit emphasizes this fact. I've tried using different materials and it's all the same. Going without stuffing it makes the right shift so wobbly that pushing it down all the way at its left edge using my pinky is impossible. Anyone else experience this?

I could barely get the right shift on without the stabs fallout out. I got it one once it it was it impossable to register shift if you pressed on the way right or way left of the shift. I put some tape in there and the shift hasn't given me problems since. It works and makes the key useable.
-
Maybe you just used too much tape? you're just using scotch tape right?
WHY are they (Signature Plastics) NOT making keys where the stabs fit as tight as the switch stem? Some design im not grasping here? It's quite lame.
-
Stabilizers were all but impossible to get on with my PBT set from SP. More QC issues perhaps? The only tighter keycap I have is an aluminium one from feng, which I sanded down.
-
Thanks to customs, i received my set yesterday. when i wanted to mount the caps, i realized this (sry for crappy pics, i'm poor):
[attachimg=1] (crack-like-looking darkish line on the right side, hard to see on pics)
another one: [attach=2]
all caps have these lines, the bigger ones on top and right side, 1unit keys on the back and some on top. they are clearly visible at daylight. anyone else got this, too?
i wrote to melissa, but she says its due to the color and it happens during production. all they "can do is to suggest using another color next time."

I had this exact issue with mine and I was told almost all of them have this lattice style pattern, and it results from the doubleshot process.
-
Yep, that was a known issue with them. The white part of the doubleshot, aka the first shot, has to be a lattice to let the red flow through and around, and if the color combo is a certain way the lattice can sometimes be subtly noticeable in the finished product. Depends on the combo obviously, but it would have happened with any of the reds... and we wanted red mods.
-
If you're lucky it only shows up on the stem, like with the PI keys.

LMAO. I thought I had cracked one of my paw print keys, turns out it's just the same as the stem on that key :p
