I actually like the original Logitech Trackman Marble better, but these days, the scroll wheel is just too darned useful.
Call me slow, but I have just recently discovered the left/right scrolling of the tilt wheel on MS mice (and others, for sure). I also like the smooth scrolling and scrolling acceleration on MS mice as well. While the smooth scrolling is great for work, I still prefer clicky scroll wheels for games. If you are looking for something that is ergonomic like a trackball but ina regular mouse format, check out the MS Natural Mouse 6000. See my review in this forum for more details. This really helped some wrist pain I was developing due ro regular mouse usage.
yep, Logitech really knew what they were doing back in the day

Exactly.
Too bad they've lost their way. I troll eBay for Logitech Trackman Marble Wheel's at least 3-4 times a week. (want to make sure I've got spares)
