[GB] SA Uniform Bliss | DONE
« on: Sun, 30 June 2019, 15:23:10 »

SA Bliss is a pink and grey bedroom inspired set.
It will be SA R3 uniform profile by SP in ABS double-shot.

To the best of my knowledge, all vendors have received and shipped Bliss.
Follow updates for R2 Salvun artisans on my Discord.

Final Numbers
includes vendor extras

Base
903
Numpad
265
Spacebars
156
Novelties
564
ISO

There are still several artisan collaborations that will run: Keyforge, CYSM, CYO, KO Caps, Bad Habit Caps, and a surprise collab.
To get updates on those, follow me on Instagram or join my Discord server as I will only be updating this thread with GB status updates.
I will be launching a "store" soon at minterlystudios.com for the alpacacorn stickers and pins so sign up to notified when I get everything set up!

GB runs July 1st to July 28th 2019
Expected to ship Q2 of 2020.

Vendors
US: Dixie Mech
EU: My Keyboard
Asia/Oceania: Daily Clack

Note regarding Daily Clack:
Quote
For any of our customers in Asia who were concerned about the shipping prices from Daily Clack,
your order + shipping should be the same or less than what you have become accustomed to with Dixie Mech groupbuys in the past.
Daily Clack has worked hard to provide you with great pricing, in order to not inconvenience anyone.
- Garrett | Dixie Mech

That means that there's free standard pricing included in the price with the use of the following discount code:

My Keyboard hasn't released their product page to me and the Dixie page will have the link to all of them.
Once I get the storefront page for the kit across all vendors I will update!!

I will be holding a very small giveaway raffle for those who join in the first 24 hours. It will be a small bundle of stickers, enamel pin, and an artisan cap by Latrialum!

For those of you curious about the process, I will ask for order numbers from the vendors, do the raffle, and mail the respective vendor the giveaway items so that no private information like names and addresses will be revealed to me.

Price is fixed since logistics of refunds for everyone at higher MOQ's is a nightmare.

Just ran giveaway for day one joiners!
If anyone is concerned about the number discrepancy (176 day one vs 166 giveaway) I just used the order numbers provided to me by the vendors so that is out of my control.

Giveaway winner for stickers, pin, and Latrialum artisan is DM3411.
Second winner for stickers and pin is DM3379.

You can see the video process of how I did it on my Instagram stories.

Question about the intentions regarding color-matching the peachy-pink color - is there going to be an emphasis on adding a touch of gray to the mix to reflect the muted render look?  Not too "clean" of a pastel color?

I'm not sure what you mean exactly by adding a touch of grey? I have posted an image of a plastic chip in the Pantone color that I sent to SP for an exact color match (disclaimer on color difference across screens etc etc) and they have matched it pretty on the dot. That's the color that the blush pink will be and that is the same color used for renders, the renders look slightly different under different lighting conditions. Hope that helps!

What I meant was this, which seems often overlooked for color-matching muted colors:
More

- Here's your photograph of the pantone chip, which I've very roughly color-corrected with the assumption that the label is "pure white" (more or less):

Using an eyedropper tool to get the color values of the "pink" chip in Photoshop a new window opens showing a color gradient from the measured color value in multiple directions.

Going left-to-right, there's a saturation gradient, and going down top to bottom is a brightness/darkness gradient, which I also colloquially call for the purpose of mixing plastic as "adding gray" to the mix until the result is basically black.

Your pantone chip has some "gray component" to it already.  I always hope that when GMK sets renders show muted pastel colors, the color matching also focuses on getting a "murky" enough hue to preserve the render look that we use to judge what we might be getting.  Most sets come out more saturated and "clean" than the renders, with less "gray" component by percentage than renders show.  That more murky pastel is what gives the more muted vintagey color, as opposed to a "clean" pale peachy pink.  To illustrate that, here's the same photograph of the pantone chip with a square of new color overlaid on top, with less "gray" and more saturation:

This illustrates the difference I very frequently see between renders and finished product: higher saturation and less of the gray component.  I'd say most sets suffer from this inconsistency.

From your analysis, I would assume you know that taking a photo of a color swatch on a screen too seriously, is not going to give you true results. The actual Pantone color value is in the photo. So to make it much simpler than what you said, that color is what it will be lol.

Thank you :)

What I meant was this, which seems often overlooked for color-matching muted colors:

You can often find RGB by just Googling the color code.  This might help you - https://www.pantone.com/color-finder/PQ-13-1406TCX

I love this aesthetic but I don't really love SA profile. Hmmm
