About Time 80 Reforged
Time 80 was the second design of Fox Lab back in 2017.
It has also become an iconic keyboard design of Fox Lab.
Time80RE kept most of the original weight design.
The clock has become thinner now and has a tempered glass cover.
The front height of the keyboard has greatly reduced for optimizing for comfort.
The ratio between the top and bottom cases has been adjusted for a cleaner side view.

4. What are the options?
- For the case, you can choose the color from Matte Clear PC, Anodized Black, Anodized Silver, E-White, Powder Coating Sky Blue, Powder Coating Lilac, and Powder Coating Grey. Here (https://imgur.com/a/9CQCPgP) is an album of photos of all colors
- For the weight, you can choose the color/material from Anodized Gold Aluminum, Anodized Pink Aluminum, and E-Clear Brass
- For the PCB, you can choose either hot swappable version or the solder version
- For the plate, you can choose either split style or regular style. You can find more information about the split plate design in the IC (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=107276.0) thread. Here's (https://imgur.com/a/5w5ccB2) an illustration.
- The plate and 'Time' badge are restricted to be the same color from Gold, Pink, Black, White, Gray, Red, and Brass.
- The LED cover are available in Gold, Pink, Black, White, Gray, and Red
5. What's the price?
- A base kit with all aluminum parts: $480+shipping. 4.4% transaction fee and 2% platform charge are included. It equals to $450 plus transaction fees.
- Upgrading the weight material to brass (E-Clear finish): $88
- Upgrading the plate and "Time" badge material to brass (E-Clear finish): $45
6. Timeline and limits
The GB starts whenever the GB post gets an approval. It will open for 7 days unless the number of orders is getting too big.
A soft top limit is 500 kits in total.
The expected lead time is 5 months due to the complexity of manufacturing the small parts.

the hotswap should be at the top? the bottom shouldnt have anything attach to it unless it is a LED or some other sorcery
Hotswap sockets are attached on the bottom side of the pcb, unlike millmax.

Thank you, in for grey black/black. This combo seems like it was made for Dracula/Oblivion/similar sets as these.

I'd like to compare gold to Brass weight. Which image is which?
Is it correct, that the Time-badge is available in Brass E-Clear finish, but the LED cover, which is directly next to it, is not?
How different does Gold look from Brass E-Clear? I will probably get a brass plate and brass weights, matching the badge and the LED-cover would be great. But different materials for the Time-Badge and LED-Cover might look a bit weird.
I'd assume, based off the IC, that the brass is a darker, shiner tone than the gold.
Probably anodized gold (could just be lighter due to lighting conditions)

My bank flagged the payment as suspicious transaction and they called me to confirm it.
I suspect the seller's name might have hit some sort of keyword when the bank was doing its automated screening

Yep, I went down the rabbit hole of the China GB and it does look like hotswap is 7u only. So it is just like the Key65 in that respect. Hopefully that also means we can solder underglow! Hype. Now to forget about this until February 2021.
Do you know wether the plate supports 6,25u? I got a solder pcb so that shouldn't be the problem.

So anyone wonders how many kits were overall purchased? since the keeb was open for 24 hrs it might be over 1000, wonder if they will manage to have the 5 months delivery window with good qc and this amount of orders
Not that many. I haven't counted yet I think there are around 500 orders after excluding the canceled ones. Some people ordered more than 1 kits so the number of kits is more than 500.

Yeah I understand that e-white isn't being powder coated, I was wondering that since the powder coat is being done differently if there was also something different with the electroplating this time.

Fox Labs are generally extremely reliable with deadlines - matter of fact, I don't think a single one of the boards they have ran to date has run late, but I could be wrong and obviously there's always the occasional package that may be delayed. I wish an email was sent to all buyers instead of a GH post. I don't visit GH much so I missed this. Luckily I do have my shipping address as my new address so it was a close call. You may want to consider emailing your buyers next time as well.

Been in this hobby since 2015. I deffinately didn't join the wrong hobby. Just recently got panic attacks due to personal issues. I think you assumed wrong bud.

There will be 7 batches in total. Here's a photo of the second batch being shipped to HK DHL Express proxy warehouse. I haven't got the tracking numbers yet for the second batch orders due to their recent vacations.
All the rest batches will be shipped out by the end of May.
One thing that has been holding us so long is the QC of the E-clear brass weight.

We didn't notice this issue in the first round QC as it's really not that noticeable in real world.
But once you noticed the issues (the water marks around the screw holes), you can't ignore them.
Such issues exist on this part only. It doesn't happen on the E-clear brass bars or the plates.
We've been trying to solve this problem for a while. The reason of these marks is the residual of chemical polishing solutions around the screw holes.
Re-coating the brass parts sometime can improve the qualified rate but still not very high.
I've some custom rubber inserts for filling the screw holes during the E-coating. This should solve the problem.
Re-coating the parts and ordering the custom rubber inserts cost a lot of money, but we hope to deliver perfect kit to you that you've been waiting for so long.
This is the first time I run the GB through a shopify store. There are still many functions that I'm not familiar with. I'll try to figure out a better way to update the GB status moving forward. Right now the best way to contact me is still sending emails to me, the gmail one, not the 163 one.
Please don't keep sending me emails literally every day (some people do), which is very annoying to me when I'm doing my best on the boards under pressure and in such a bad circumstance (CNY holiday, covid, rising prices on everything, shortages on everything). I can only block your email address for cases like that.
I welcome all the update requests who asked politely.

Yeah, seems like they hang up-side-down text wise so the fluid dribbles from the screw holes, leaving those streaks.

I ordered e-white with brass. I am still waiting. He said there’s 7 batch shipments until May though. So just have to wait and hope that your in an earlier batch I suppose.

I order both silver and powder coat, and none of them show up yet. I haven't heard anything other than first batch sent out. There has been nearly no communication that I know of.

Yeah I'm looking into it, it might be a month or so before I can find an artist and get serious about it so a couple of months before an IC thread shows up. My thinking was with art that looks sort of like that Cherry switch deskmat that has the switch taken apart, except clean and not labelled with the text.
People can PM me if they'd like or would like to help/know artists, I don't want to go off topic in senter's thread.

I think you'll get a text notification from DHL with tracking when the order ships. At least that is my experience with a couple of RAMA GBs.

Most chinese runners use a service where someone handles the last step before it's sent off. They'll typically just undervalue everything. It's definitely more work to pick out which ones to undervalue than to just undervalue everything.

I mean this is standart in every shipping company, because of how fast they have to pack everything out. No one is paying them for unloading safely, more likely cut their money if they are too slow. But secure packaging should do the trick even if one kicks it. Box in the box is best not only to avoid incidents like that but also for protection. As funny as it sounds I am almost sure his keyboard fly out of after someone cut it. No one stolen it, this hobby is too small for such things

My Powdered coated Lilac arrived. Flawless as well. I guess this is my first powder coated bored versus ano and e-white. Definitely a more rougher finish than some of the smoother ano and e-white I have felt so far. Perhaps I need to look at it with full sunlight, not exactly what I expected, but no fault to foxlab. I may need to think about getting brass extra accessory/weight pieces the pink ano and lilac almost looks the same to me.

I got my polycarb version and I gotta say, it feels very light. My polycarb KBDFans 8x feels like it weighs at least twice as much as this. I'm not complaining, I just want to be sure I didn't get an alu weight instead of brass.

I'm having a build problem - the screws aren't long enough to thread properly when attaching the plate to the case when using the rubber insert. Has anyone else run into this issue? I haven't tried without the insert and *maybe* it would work, but inserting the screws into the plate's eyelets they look REALLY small for the purpose. I'm starting to believe I got sent the wrong sized screws.
I tried some other screws I had sitting around this morning and they went in just fine, so yep, the screws that came with the board aren't long enough to reliably keep the plate in place. I'll have to find some new ones. Not the biggest issue, but it is a pain for sure.

My potato way of doing it was mapping RGB keys onto another key layer using QMK configurator (website version). After I have compiled and downloaded the hex file, I flashed the board using QMK toolbox.
If you're new with QMK configurator and toolbox, go check out our resident wizard, Mechmerlin's video tutorial.

Yea that is what was said. My label was printed June 11 and hasn’t been received by DHL. So he’s probably still getting a lot of the orders ready.

Also if you have a DHL tracking, try using AfterShip or 17TRACK app. I normally use ParcelTrack but it seems to stop tracking DHL shipments. The other apps worked perfectly.

Finally arrived yesterday but the wait was worth it. Lilac/Brass is GORGEOUS. I think the lilac is honestly more mauve, like a rich maroon purple, but it's amazing and I love the color!
Will look incredible with GMK Symbiote eventually.

First time trying QMK configurator so forgive my ignorance, but to use VIA I would have to do some writing of a custom JSON, correct? I did some quick searching on the subject and it seems like a little more time than I'd like to dedicate just to be able to use VIA along with my custom QMK configurated firmware. The JSON from Fox Lab doesn't work with my custom firmware, I assume because it doesn't match something VIA is checking for.
Overall I'm thrilled with my build though. The quality is top notch. Incredible sound (using L/F Banana Splits); fantastic feel when typing, very soft; flawless finish; so many things I'm happy about with this board.
BTW anyone know what the standard non-split plate material is? It looks like e-coated brass, same as my weights, but I couldn't find any info specifying what material it is on the Fox Lab page or GB/IC pages.

Mine had a small smudge on the top case. I thought I could rub it out but it’s in the e-white surface. It’s really small and not sure if it’s worth the bother.

I haven't needed to contact them for a while, ordered and received my 80RE with no issues but I'm pretty sure both times I had a few back and forths with Senter regarding the initial run of the Time as well as the Leaf60 it was through the email Syamil mentioned, runninghack.

used a keycaps set that supports cherry stabs. it says on the website where you get the plate files that the plate files given only support cherry stabs
There are practically only 1 type of keycaps that supports it AFAIK. Either the Krepublic's XDA alps or SA's DCS Alps(extremely hard to find).
I am asking about this since leaf 80 alps plate have the support, just the clearance problem with screw hole that is blocking it from the front weight for Time80Re :-X

How thick did you make your plate?
1.5mm by accident. no issues luckily. if anything, make the screw holes and stab cutouts a bit larger. I'm told alps should use 1.2mm

Senter replied to me, only to discover I messed up horrifically by not reading the GB description, and didn't separately order the badge and plate.
Then, I didn't leave an e-mail address.
However, Senter still had the patience to deal with me, and respond to my e-mails.

Anyone tried alps build on this board? I bought it because I thought I could use Leaf 80's Alps plate on it, but I just find out that time80re doesn't have enough clearance on the screw holes, since the new plates are thinner...
I saw there is a plate file on github, but the stab seems to be cherry pcb mount? Not sure if it support costar stab instead. Otherwise I am limited to stab keys with cherry mount, which I couldn't find any for WKL layout.

How thick did you make your plate?
1.5mm by accident. no issues luckily. if anything, make the screw holes and stab cutouts a bit larger. I'm told alps should use 1.2mm
Is there a place to buy these alps plates ? Pom or otherwise.

Well I have finally gotten a response after a couple of emails and 2-3 months of silence.
Long story short, Fox Labs will not replace my dented TIME badge at the front.
I wasn't even asking for a full replace, just the front badge.

I second this, I am avoiding all Fox Labs future boards as well. I merely asked if I can swap the extra pcb from hotswap to solder and he wouldn't do this. It was only a week after closing of the GB.

Pretty common for vendors to not allow order edits or refunds after GB has closed.

The issue you mentioned is completely on you if I understand it correctly. There’s bold red font on the store page asking you to read the description before placing the order and you didn’t. I’ve also made all the important information in bold font in the description and you didn’t notice. The description clearly said if you place the second order for the badge+plate bundle you’ll receive only the plate, and you ask for a refund. If there are better ways of preventing you from placing the wrong order I would do. I’ve partially refunded all the orders who ordered extra plate+badge bundle. Unfortunately I didn't catch your mistake but I believe it was the only case. I could have refunded you for that little money. I don't think I had to thought because you received exactly what you were supposed to receive.

That being said, may I propose several aspects that I hope some of you can do? I’m not saying that you should follow any of these. I’m just suggesting that if you follow these, it doesn’t hurt you, and very possibly you will also be traded very well in return, not just from Fox Lab, but also from other GB runners in the community.
1. Be friendly: No matter what the issue is, keep restrained and friendly at least in the beginning. Being aggressive can only make things worth. Express how frustrated and angry you are, or even threaten the seller doesn’t help and can even be counterproductive.
2. Be informative: Provide as much as information as possible in advance (e.g., order number, clear photos). You only need to describe the issues accurately and objectively. Expressing how much it bothers you does not help. Exaggerating how serious the issue is does not help.
3. Be patient. Do not ask the seller to reply to you or solve your problem ASAP.
4. Be specific. If you’re reaching out to solve a problem, the problem can be solve more efficiently if you can specify your expectations of possible solutions.
5. Be forgiving. For minor issues, consider to accept the item as is or pay the international shipping. If the issues are fixable, show the seller that you made efforts to solve it by yourself. The sellers are always willing to trade

I already admitted my mistake about not reading all the text, but to be honest, never thought that a seller would make it so that you order something more than 1 and not send the item in the description just because there is a single line mentioning it in the page. And as I mentioned in my email, extreme example for this would be letting people buy multiple boards, but adding a single line somewhere in the description saying that you can only order 1 keyboard, and for the rest of your orders you will be getting 1 hi-chew each :) The only difference between that and this situation is that how much money the buyer is losing, but doesn't change the underlying problem about buyer not getting what they paid for.
Not having a better way to setup it, to simply put, doesn't sound true at all. So, you are saying that currently, in the 21st century, the limits of technology we have is that you can't have a shopping page that is setup in a way which doesn't let people add more than 1 of the same item to your cart?
And important information being in bold is not 100% correct either. Again, I showed in the video, and you can see in your webpage as well. The line that mentions this limitation is not even fully visible on 1080p screen, and not visible at all on phones. Attached screenshot showing how it looks on a 1080p screen and how this limitation is listed in the page.
If everyone who had this issue is refunded, and I was somehow got unlucky, that is fine I guess. Overall, it was a good lesson for me to read the description better from now on, but it was also unfortunate since as mentioned I like your boards, and would have loved to continue supporting on future GBs.

Senter -- I read your list of general rules/etiquette. The honesty and transparency of them are refreshing even if it's not desirable to think you are ignoring people who are buying OoS parts or are "picky" -- those are very variable, undefined, unknowable qualities. With that in mind, to suggest an addition to your list of rules: As a seller, respond back, even if it's not the response someone wants to hear. I promise you that ignoring people will exacerbate an issue.
"I saw this and will respond when my time is free after XYZ. I added it to a follow-up list."
"Still tracking, busy, but will get back to you."
"That item is out of stock and I will not be stocking any further."
