Good news. The only thing I'm worried about after seeing the other European Distributor (http://www.verkkokauppa.com/popups/prodinfo.php?id=43871) prices is that the price will be just as high as buying one in USD+shipping.
Anyway, Maybe I will be proven wrong.
Even if it is like that , at least you don't have to worry about extra taxes at customs.
Seconded: it effectively does away with the customs lottery meaning you can get your keyboard sooner.Quote from: sixty;198673Good news. make an ISO version of the HHKB
Hi All
I’m proud to announce that we have signed an agreement with Topre to make their high quality Realforce keyboards available to the European Market.
In the first instance, we will look to stock a printed 105 model in three or four language varieties. For widest appeal.
We’re polishing up a few details right now and I would hope to have stock in by October 2010.

Very cool, here's my vote for offering ANSI as well though. I live in the ISO world, but hate it.
Isn't US International the de facto standard layout for the Netherlands?
It's almost october!
Never mind that expensive crap, get the Filco Tenkeyless UK sorted out !!

First post here, as I've only just started seriously looking into getting a keyboard with a better feel and shorter body than the Enermax Aurora I've been tapping at for some years.
Before seeing this post, I emailed the Keyboard Company yesterday asking about Topre keyboards in the UK, and Bruce quickly responded to let me know that they expect to be getting them in in November or December. Hoping for an 87UB here...
i like the black lettering more then the gold/yellow
i like the black lettering more then the gold/yellow
They will have the variable force switch array.
If there are any ANSI Tenkeyless models 'on the shelf' when our order is ready I will get some also but this is unsure right now.
why do people like the all 55g over an all 45g version anyway? the HHKB is all 45g, and its a middle weight compared to heavy 55g or light 30/35g.
I heard some bad stories about 55g
I want them all.
I'd like the special edition of the HHKB with red laquer for 4000€
Pink 30g Otaku please?
Hi Guys.
I'm hoping to have some news soon so I can post with accurate dates but things are well advanced and I'm optimistic we will have stock by the end of November or early December. We had a look at manual designs last week.
What I can say for sure is we ordered UK, German, Swedish/Finnish and French layouts.
I chose Topre Gold design.
That's a Black 105 Board, full size, with Gold lased lettering and Gold base plate.
I'm not sure how much of the base plate will be visible but I thought that was a nice touch. They will have the variable force switch array.
If there are any ANSI Tenkeyless models 'on the shelf' when our order is ready I will get some also but this is unsure right now.
These are due to arrive any day now.
I did also get some in a Beige Tenkeyless USA model. This one I think.

Hi guilleguillaume
Welcome.
Given that we are talking Topre Super Yum Yum it shouldn't be too far out - I hope.
I haven't seen the carriage bill yet though.

keyboardlover look at the pics from this Thread:

What are the downsides to a Japanese layout? How many characters are missing?
If you get the black one the non-US shifted characters layout on the number row matters little.
You really can't see them anyway. Otherwise just plug it in and it'll act like a regular keyboard with an itty bitty space bar. Think oompa loompa space bar.
Of course, 87 yellow keys, all 45 ...... Super Yum Yum.
An explanation that Topre are steadily moving into variable only may work as well.
Not confirmed just yet but I would hope to have more around about Christmas.
Since you removed the 91 UBY from your website, does this mean they are gone for good?
:(
I wouldn't hesitate one second to order this one (http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_details.asp?PRODUCT=791), if it was available in white/gray and with all 55g switches...
Is this still the punishment for our little try on world dominion? Come on, who doesn't want that? : D
Yup.
I surely wasn't talking to a guy from the Netherlands lol.
We do intend to build up a wide selection of Topre but we won't be getting an all 55g Full size in German for a long while yet.
Tenkeyless is my next big task.
WOW, so the 170€ you pay for the finnish Topre translate to 192GBP (230€) on thekeyboardco? DADANG!! thats.... hefty... :(

I have Tenkeyless Topre samples due in the next week or so.
After that it can be quite quick.
Hi KL
I don't see it happening in the next few months.
Would you still like the same thing in a USA layout? That may be more do-able.
It's their own fault that I'm bugging them about this so much. The Realforce they sold me is awesome and their service is great, no wonder I won't go away ^^
I was very lucky that I didn't get to purchase the 91UBY.
white Topre > all other colour Topre
I am getting all 45g on these.
I am getting all 45g on these.
Also they are going to send me an all 30g sample to look at but that would come later.
All 30g? Man, that has got to be one featherweight keyboard.
I am getting all 45g on these.
Layouts are going to be UK, German, French and Swede/Finn and USA.
It is colour, weight and print type I am still deciding on.
I don't understand why but I'm thinking about those Topres while I already have the Realforce 91UBY...that's madness!
Go Yellow!
Layouts are going to be UK, German, French and Swede/Finn and USA.

What's the virtual number pad? Is that embedded in the qwerty section on a function key press? Not sure about that, it hasn't been mentioned.
Does the Realforce 86U have the integrated numpad?
Bruce - If you can get a custom order with RF, can you try and get a more consistent look for the modifiers? something about the font sizing and/or alignment makes it look off to my eye.
For instance...
-the "Tab" and "Caps Lock" use a larger font than "Shift", "Ctrl", and "Alt"
-the "Home" key is printed even smaller than the word "Home" on the 7 numpad key
-My "Page Down" looks slightly bolded compared to "Page Up"
maybe it's just me, anyone else see this?
I have a 45g topre and I think the sex that is topre is lost on the lighter switch.
So do you prefer the 55g Topre to a 45g Topre? I think the 55g feels a bit too stiff for my taste and the 45g just perfect. The lighter keys do indeed feel a bit too light and lack the proper tactile feedback.
I love my variable for typing but I can definitely notice a difference between the force in s and d which might affect my gaming a bit. Also the force required for qaz seems to bit even lower and I use those keys for gaming as well.
Friction? Cherry reds? Lolwut?
RiGS coming from Blacks it's normal to feel that Topre 45g are too much tactile. I love the way they feel on my Realforce 91 UBY.
Which of your keyboards do you like more?
Or what is your favorite switch??
I can easily flex the case of my full size Realforce.O.o??? You must be pretty strong
Also the two half of the case are not secured tightly, it feels like it can be taken apart using my fingernails.
I can take mine apart with my fingernails. This came in handy when I spilled some tea on one corner. Pop - Pop and a quick wipe/blowdry and I was done.
I prefer the Steelseries for gaming, because I have more control/precision with them over the actuation point, and the keycaps have a much better grip.
Ironically the filmsy abs keycaps are better for gaming than the high quality Topre keys.
I have less or no accidental keypresses with the mx black switches.
I think a very skilled gamer would have an edge with the Steelseries over the Realforce.
The Steelseries have a full NKRO over PS2, when the Realforce is only 6KRO.
However I can type faster with the Realforce, and the white Realforce is very useful at night.
I also enjoy gaming on them when I tired, or when I don't need that kind of precision.
I like the media keys on the Steelseries 6gv2, however I can use them as well on the Realforce with a software.
The case construction of the Steelseries is much more solid.
Funny that I do not wanted to have more than one keyboard on my desk, and had an intent to sell my other keyboard, yet I keep the Realforce only because it was 100€ shipped to me.
It was totally worth it.
I hope this 45g comes out when the value of the dollar doesn't completely suck
Have you changed your vote to white?
they're not offering White now and it looks like we are going to be ordering it all in Black/Black.Neither of the black options was perfect, but I'm sure black/black will be fine anyway for a large portion of the people who might've preferred gold/black
Black with Gold was an option but I went on a hunch. I know about 2/3s of you are sighing now so sorry, but I had to take a punt.
Now what colour WASD............not sure if that's a serious question following the last poll, but of the new colours mentioned in the anniversary sets, the Sky-Blue sounds the nicest. I'd favour:
So, I am now pretty sure we will be getting all 45s in Black Tenkeyless with a hint of French, German, UK, Swe/Fi and USA layout..
I know nothing about the silent keys, you're going to have to help me there. There was a report of the announcement here on Deskthority (http://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=301) (also scroll down a few replies for a good graph)
spare uniform weighted rubber sheets?that's an interesting idea, I wonder if Topre would be against it for warranty reasons, but being able to switch the weighting at any time without buying a whole new keyboard is intriguing.
Also that would prolong the life expectancy of the whole keyboard many times.
The keycaps are also invidual, so I don't see why this would be a problem. They can put a whole set in a nice box.
In Russia you are not real man unless you fulfill your duty as a soldier.
I'm definitely in for a black Tenkeyless 45g in Swe/Fi plus a number pad.Err, for a moment there I thought I already posted in this thread, since this kind of comment is exactly what I came here to post.
Not that I don't love the brown Filco you guys sent me, Bruce! :)
I'm definitely in for a black Tenkeyless 45g in Swe/Fi plus a number pad.
I will have this in stock soon, number pad as well. How is it going with the 45g SWE/FI Topres? Any estimates on price (with VAT) and when are you putting them up for orderering?
I noted that the european full layout versions of the topre keyboards is out now, and they are on sale at kbc site now!! ;D
I wounder why I saw the site down for a bit, and when it got back up, I've checked and found it.
still dreaming with the majestouch2 full uk layout here sniff
No worries about the pole guys. Like Ripster said, they're not offering White now and it looks like we are going to be ordering it all in Black/Black.
Black with Gold was an option but I went on a hunch. I know about 2/3s of you are sighing now so sorry, but I had to take a punt.
Also any chance you could talk Topre into selling the spacebar separately?
That key is the most susceptible to become shiny. I think the demand would be just as high as on the red Escape, or the WASD keys.
Hi Rigs. Sorry I have been quiet.I am confused. Does "they are ready, then it will be ship time" mean they are ready to be shipped from Japan to you (meaning 2-3 weeks more of waiting) or does it mean you already have them, but they aren't yet ready to shipped to customers out from the UK?
Just waiting to get the call to say they are ready, then it will be ship time and they are in.
Should be very soon now.
Am i the only one checking this thread 3 times a day? ;)Me too :( (In addition to the KeyboardCo frontpage)

my all 45g ISO tkless won't come true after all!
Am i the only one checking this thread 3 times a day? ;)
Ive been really close ordering a hhkb too, waiting for this realforce from tkc. Is it really £260 to uk? To Sweden its more like £310 lol :) With shipping, customs, vat and whatnot ;) Cheaper if youre lucky and the customs/post office dont notice ofc.
Oh Dear.
Zhuni I am sorry. USA all 45 are gong to be later. They haven't made them yet.
This is Tenkeyless all 45 in Black - UK, German, Swe/fin and French.
And some variable switch USA Tenkeyless.
Damn. I want the ANSI for gaming.
I guess I have to wait longer.
Bruce, could you give us an estimate about the price?
Why do you prefer the ANSI for gaming?
I think that I should wait for a possible white ISO tenkeyless in the future. Don't like at all that kind of lettering that Realforce black keycaps have.

which will convince your boss to buy topre realforce keyboards for your whole division.. OMG THE MADNESS CAN'T BE STOPPED
:(
I paid for them last week so I'm as anxious to see them as anyone.
Hoping a couple of weeks still.
any idea what theyll cost?
any idea what theyll cost?
Placed an order for two FI/SWE ones, my bank account is crying blood.
Are you guys planning on getting the silent versions in too? That's a very good question.
I'm actually sure I will be doing very bad things to my Bank Account....
I would like to know what RiGS is asking too.
If these keyboards were white I'd definitely sell my 91uby to get an ANSI.
black case with white keys and red esc looks pretty neat too IMO
I'd definetely have both.
My Realforce 91UBY is going to live with me forever!
Anyone on geekhack have the combo with black case and white keys? Would be nice to see how it would look.
Any chance of seeing swedish tenkeyless but with 55g switches anytime soon?
I really want to try a topre board but I worry a bit that 45g will be to light for gaming (mainly fps). - any opinions on that from people who have one?
I guess I can wait a while if that's what it takes, spilled orange juice on my das but it's still possible to type on at least. (The first thing I thought after getting over having ruined my keyboard was that it's quite a good excuse to try out another mechanical keyboard... MWUhahah.. :becky:

Yay, mine have been shipped! Waiting for delivery now :)
Where do you live? Be sure to post pics if you receive it!I live in Finland. I don't really have a decent camera worthy of taking such pics though.

The photo on the website is showing ANSI USA keyboard layout.
Any luck with showing us what the British Layout will look like? As I prefer ISO layout keyboards.
I wish they came with white key-caps as this would have been ideal, any idea if you'll be stocking them, or even other colours(orange)?
The subtle black on black keycaps with their tactile feel and N Key Rollover ensure fast and accurate input.
Mine arrived last night, just started using it properly today. First go with a Realforce and this is definitely more my kind of key action. Very smooth and light with a lovely rebound, and it's not even broken in yet. I didn't get on with my Majestouch TKL with Blues, though I did like the sound and there's no doubt that it is an excellent board (look out for it in the classifieds shortly, 1 month old and exc cond). This Realforce doesn't have the windowed lit Caps Lock etc. keys, nor the numpad on the ERTDFG or whatever keys that some seem to. Still, great job Bruce and the gang for an ISO layout version.
Does it come with a Caps lock size Control key?
You couldn't have accidentally picked one of the more expensive carriage options? That would show on the paperwork, but £207 is correct otherwise. That includes the VAT.
Currencies are bouncing around a bit but our European ones are mostly dropping together. It is possible that there is a fee from Paypal or your credit card company.
i would be happy if you would offer this model:
Realforce 87U Tenkeyless 45g White
i'm fine with ANSI
+1 (only variable weighted). I have been wanting to buy an Realforce 87U Tenkeyless variable weighted white (ANSI) for a while now. Is there any chance of you stocking them?
If you were to stock them I would purchase one right away.
Thanks,
Jim.
Hi dj - Your best option for Scandinavia is probably http://www.keyboardco.com
Jim66, I'm not getting any new Topre models this year I doubt.
I would like to get some 87u nest year though.

Any plans to get new Topre models in this year? I would love to get full size keyboard in Swe/Fin layout without variable weight keys, maybe 45g or 55g keyforce?
Hi AmasokinI hate variable weighted keyboards and I also like to play roguelikes and Arma games, so "tenkeyless" type keyboards are no option for me :(
Sorry to leave you hanging so long. Truth is, we usually go with 87 for USA and 88 for European and so this gets me confused too. But they take off the windows menu key and it becomes something else.
Topre are very good because they can make a great number of variations and to relatively small MOQ - so there are so many possibilities. Ours don't have the embedded number pad (That was me, I don't really like them) or the LEDS, that was never thought about. And I doubt any were ever made.
We were shown the gold on black and liked it. It fitted also with wanting to get Topre into the more general office use arena, where sub printing is not well received. Thanks, and greetings to France.
ktkr
No, i'm not thinking silent this year. Topre only whisper anyway and I still have some gaps to fill in the whisper range.
Naku
I'm not likely to have any new ISO models in the first half of 2012.
...Any news of second half of 2012 Topre models? Still looking non variable weighted fullsize ISO keyboard.
Naku
I'm not likely to have any new ISO models in the first half of 2012.
Where can i buy Topre keyboards cheapest from Sweden?
Hi IKSLM
I don't think we will have any White German Layout models this year. Generally Black seems to sell better and we have to hit MOQs so it limits the variety we can stock.
Are the black and beige keyboards at The Keyboard Co. the same color as the black and white keyboards at Elite, or are they slightly different colors?
Edit:
Guess they are different, or at least the Model Numbers are different -
Elite Keyboards - Realforce 87U Tenkeyless (White/Gray) - Model Number - SE0700
The Keyboard Company - USA Topre Realforce 87UW Variable Mini Black on Beige Keyboard - Model Number - SE07T0
Lack of capslock light is also a bit of an issue, don't understand why it's on all the boards sold over the pond, but not on this. Passwords can be a pain in the ********
if you get a 10th anniversary you have 3 already sold :)

Hi Guys.
No luck with the anniv. model. Sorry.
Hi NakuThanks Bruce for answering to my questions.
1. Is there going to be full size nonvariable Topre keyboards (ISO swe/fin model)?
Yes. There will. But not sure the colour scheme or exactly when. All 45 most likely.
2. Topre keypads? (for case I have to buy tenkeyless)
I don't think Topre are still making the keypads.
Yup, I will. Ordered 4 for friends & me from contacts in Seoul. :)
ANSI FTW!
Will you be restocking the USA Topre Realforce keyboards? If so, when do you expect them, and which type will you be receiving?
Thanks for the info.
Will you guys get the new Leopold Topre keyboard?
Yes the question was for bruce and annother question :Are 55g Topre keyboards coming to europe in the near future?
Any chance for a white TKL ISO uniform weight (45 or 55)? Perhaps silent as well?
Hi. I'm shopping for a Topre keyboard and I'd rather buy it from a reputable EU company than from a random Taiwan dealer ^-^
Question: do they make a full-size one, US ANSI, with variable weight and the newer silent action? Will you stock them anytime soon?
And I thought that 55g would be rather popular switch :(
I would buy a swedish 55g in about 1 second :D Doesnt matter if its full size or tenkeyless, black or grey or whatever, ill buy it so fast. Oh, and i dont know if topre stopped making numpads, but elitekeyboards have the white ones in stock, so i guess they can be ordered from topre somehow. That would be nice to buy from keyboard co.
Are you guys planning on getting some of the new 'cheap' topre boards in at any point?
Is there any chance for a full-sized, non-variable Topre keyboard with German layout to be available?
I'd really like to get a Topre board with 105 keys, sadly the ones available are 'variable', which is kinda odd for gaming.
We tried to get a group of ppl together and make a special topre for sweden a while back, and we got 10 people, but in the end we needed 40-50 to make it happen :/ Maybe that was because it would be a real one-off model so to speak. Is the MOQ lower for models that is already in produktion from time to time at topre?
