Nice setup and great result! Do you use that big screen for computer stuff (beside watching TV), or is it here only for the GIF action in use?

I really like that blurry shot! Unfortunately I don't have a keyboard with backlighting. Would be a reason to have one :)

Grrreat moody pictures, being outside there?

Unfortunately I had no time until the last session to make some more shots, especially with some caps... Maybe in the next days!

Thanks! It's mostly for watching TV, but we usually have it hooked up to a computer so it works as a giant second monitor all day.

Ahahaha the music! You weren't kidding when you said you shot a keyboard porno.

Regarding light flicker, it depends on your recording settings. Are you shooting at 60p? 50p? 30p? 24p? (NTFS/PAL) Shutter speed can also affect light flicker as well. Here's a good article explaining light flicker in footage in more detail: http://urbanvideo.ca/avoid-video-flicker . LEDs and computer monitors are usually harder to record as they don't always have the same "refresh rates". So it might take some testing to get the settings right before you record.

Alternatively, if you want to manually fix the flicker in post, you can do this:

1. Go through the footage frame by frame. Find the first flicker frame.
2. Duplicate the footage, and on the duplicate, find an adjacent frame with no flicker.
3. Make the duplicate 1 frame long, put it above the original layer, and move it in time to cover the flicker frame.
4. On the 1-frame layer, draw a feathered mask around the area(s) that received the reflection in the bad layer. If the shot moves, reposition as necessary.
5. Repeat the steps above until you're done.

That is a very attractive corner of your keyboard!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Most (all?) were from a CtrlAlt group buy from a while back.

I've been collecting them over quite a period of time now - there's a lot more out of the photo that you can't see :)  Some came from a CtrlAlt group buy, some from techkeys, some from sp sets over the years, some I bought separately in the classifieds - I think I have about 40 in total :)  Which one are you referring to in particular?  The black and orange one or the red and white one?

I did do a little work on the pic in lightroom but mainly to correct lens issues like vignetting.  I did add a bit of contrast though to bring out the black of the board in the background.

Well spotted :thumb:  Most of the ones there are CtrlAlt ones but not all :)

Bruh!  That's awesome! Did you do it with sharpie?

Thanks guys, credit doesn't go to me though... It was my girlfriend who did all the artwork for the caps.

Yea it was done with a sharpie, she took each cap off individually and drew on each of them.

Like one of those half-remembered dream switches ...

I'd suggest putting some sort of clear coat on it to help the sharpie from fading.
