Wow that looks great :) did you have to mod the spacebar or is that not a problem anymore?

I believe the 2015 models took care of that issue.

That it did.

I really wish that I waited a month and bought the 2015 edition. Now I can only have hyperfuse on it.

It really is.

And thanks everyone! It's the 2015 version, very happy they decided to go with a standard spacebar this time around.

Also, LOVE SA!

It's a Keyboard Mania novelty - the same idea as the ubiquitous GeekHack keycap. :) I purchased them from Webwit, and he received them as gifts from KbdMania members.

I took a potato of all of them awhile back. Out of all of them, the KBD HOLIC cap is probably my favourite!

I'm still REALLY wanting an OTD logo cap, but they're hard to find.  :(

More lightbox play...without turning the lights on

20 second exposure, box left open for ~5 seconds, and then covered to expose the cap, but also allow the tritium glow to show through.

Compared to same shot in the lightbox with the lights on

Yeah, it's a B.87, matte frost>matte red>diffuser case. I don't think winkeyless have any alu plate anymore.

Just realised the white balance is off and the exposure is crappy.

Don't let us hold you back :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Tried photographing my new Triumph Adler "replica" set--what a pain to photograph that dark teal.  Invariably comes out too blue or just off.  Anyway, it's a better match to the keyboard in normal-low light than the photos may lead you to believe, but I do wish the mods were a shade lighter.

(Don't diss my toaster cat set!  It's an integral part of my typing experience and helps me type better!)

Amazing, I'd say the GMK TA set is one of the harder ones to photograph. I had light bleed problems as well on mine but fixed it by putting a rectangle of electrical tape on top of the 2x3x4mm LED, it dimmed it as well but fixed most of the light bleed.

Yeah, light bleed's pretty noticeable, but I don't keep LEDs on, and if I do, it's not bad at my normal viewing angle.  Top down it's very noticeable.

More

Even the thin white PBT keycaps on the number row are very opaque from the top.

That is true. But Photoelectrics shots look nice! It is always in most pictures just blue, the mods. But the mods are not blue! I tried, but I think it turned out too greenish (actually I shopped two pictures together, one of the mods and one of the alphas):

Im hoping to improve my photography situation soon, i have a few monitors laying around that im planning on pulling the LCD out of and just keeping the lights and diffusers in the frame, they make for great balanced smooth lighting, and im thinking about making a cheap DIY lightbox.

A quick pic of my new build with my MotoX 2nd Gen that does well in good light. But this is just in the kitchen with the overhead lights. 123805-0123807-1

LZ-GH for the win!!    I hope to have another one soon!!!   Mine is ano'ed a drab olive green, but I love it!!   And until PhotoE showed me, I had no idea that one could adjust the height using the too cool bar in the back!!

Nice board, nice keys and nice matching Dolly V1.   I'm not so sure about Toaster cat ...    :p :p

But I think even those match the TA set nicely!!

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
