I'm (B) but would definitely take 1,5 Control and Alt if available.
I would also take Alt Gr in 1,25 or 1,5 if available.

Not sure about how good RGB looks on a keyboard yet!  But, I might want some later if I make up my mind.

There are beautiful pictures here and on DT that may help you decide! :)
Personally, I'm no keyboard pimp. I'm not into rainbow keycaps nor glow-in-the-dark stuff or blue leds under clear 'caps. Not for me. But I do like a bit of color on my keyboard. I think RGB(Y) is a very nice solution. Moreover, it's a replica of a vintage cherry product, which makes it even better! :thumb:

Only the Esc are smaller, or does that apply to all SP keys?

The Cherry Corp Esc and the Signature Plastic Esc are QUITE different in how they look on the keyboard.

Weird sizing on the Signature Plastic Esc - a bit smaller than most in the horizontal dimensions.
(Attachment Link) 29829 (Attachment Link) 29830

Yeah, it won't mesh perfectly of course.  But neither do the moogle kits.  For me it's all about the font.  Bright red Escapes stand out, and it irks me to see "ESC" in all caps in SP's font when the rest of my keyboard is thick and Cherry-tastic.

This post by 7bit really made me wonder: what if reverse RGBY (color on black key) did actually look better?

That does seem like it could look awesome.  Maybe someone could do a mockup with a real photograph?  Problem there is we then have to agree on a base color for the keys.

I think black would be ideal (more contrast, and possibly black keys are more used overall), but then it would not mix well with beige cherry sets.

I'd be in for 3 or more ESC key.

I'd love a RGB on black DS (and a spare old school win-less set too on black DS to fit a soon to come custom 1800. I know I'm asking too much but hell with it. :D )

I like the idea of color on black, kind of like the old Model M numpad keys.

But I've bought too much keyboard crap already, and have recently branched out into obsessing about mice.
Filco Majestouch-2 with Cherry Corp. doubleshot keys - Leopold Tenkeyless Tactile Force with Wyse doubleshots - Silicon Graphics 9500900 - WASD V1 - IBM Model M 52G9658 - Noppoo Choc Pro with Cherry lasered PBT keycaps - Wyse 900866-01 - Cherry G80-8200LPBUS/07 - Dell AT101W - several Cherry G81s (future doubleshot donors) (order of current preference) (dang I have too many keyboards, I really only need two)

Yeah, this is not connected to Round 4 and should be finished much quicker.  What do you mean by invoice 9?

To be honest Hash: I think you should just do the Escape keys. If you want to do the RGB's then get what you want and try to not pick what everyone else wants.

It means I was the 8th person to place an order, which I'm sure doesn't mean anything but since I'm still in the group buy, I might as well pick something up.

So how many Esc key orders do we need to get this baby rolling?

You might be right.  We're not committed to doing anything yet -- it's just an interest check (though I will make sure we do at least the Escape).  I'll have numbers from Melissa shortly.

No, but based on how complicated the moogle legends were she can give a good estimate of final cost, including setup fee.

Oh, I wasn't aware there was actually going to be a fixed-key set. But, then again, I didn't buy in GB3.

Check the time stamps.

Yes, but any talk of shipping replacements would have needed the originals to have been shipped first, right?

Okay ppl, I got quotes back from Melissa.  The price breakdowns are pretty much like you'd expect.

REDESC
There's a $35 setup fee for the red Escape, and the following volume/price breakdown:

25 keys   @ $4.38 each
50 keys   @ $2.43 each
75 keys   @ $1.76 each
100 keys @ $1.44 each

We're pushing 75 keys already, assuming everyone follows through.

RGBY
Sadly there's also a $45 setup fee for both the ANSI and ISO left Shifts, since cycloverid's moogle kit didn't include left Shift.  These prices include a yellow Windows key (or other 1.25x key with a legend SP already has on file):

2.25x ANSI left Shift:
5 sets      @ $68.31 each
10 sets    @ $37.73 each
15 sets    @ $27.54 each
25 sets    @ $19.38 each
50 sets    @ $13.27 each
75 sets    @ $11.23 each
100 sets  @ $10.21 each

1.25x ISO Shift key:
5 sets      @ $47.67 each
10 sets    @ $27.29 each
15 sets    @ $20.49 each
25 sets    @ $15.06 each
50 sets    @ $10.98 each
75 sets    @ $9.62 each
100 sets  @ $8.94 each

I think we have something like 8 ISO orders and 20 ANSI orders so far.

I've updated the OP with this info.

aggiejy's blue has really grown on me, I must say.  But yeah, the plan is a darker blue, more in line with vintage RGB sets.  Something like this:

Wouldn't it be cheaper overall to combine ISO and ANSI in a single kit, reaching a bigger volume?

Yeah I'll ask Melissa about combining the common keys in the two sets.  I described to her what I wanted to do, and this is what she came back with.  I assume that means it's the cheapest way to do it, but maybe not?

I don't know, I've never been good in maths. I see that there is a considerable discount over a bigger volume, so I was wondering, if we get to order 25+ kits with both iso and ansi shifts included they may end up to be cheaper than the separate kits in smaller volumes. Then of course americans end up with useless iso shifts and europeans with useless ansi shifts, but who cares if it's cheaper? :)

Day 4 is over.  Added 10-13 Escapes and no RGBs (though a couple of people mentioned they would buy more of one or the other if it helped push us into the next price bracket).

This brings the totals to between 65 and 80 Escapes, and close to 30 RGBs.  I was afraid there wouldn't be a lot of RGB demand with geekhack awash in aggiejy's sets.  It's looking like we're not going to hit the 50 set price point, which is kind of where it starts getting interesting to me personally.

If there's enough demand for Choc-compatible key sizes, I'm more than happy to do it.  But I really doubt that it will be economical since almost everyone will want standard 2.75x right Shift and 1.25x Ctrl/Alt/Win.  I'd say it's looking doubtful even for ISO left Shift.
