1) Ok 2nd post is updated so most of the info there reflects where we stand more or less because I'm still working out shipping address and stuff with some people

2) Next, concerning the Longcat doppelganger. I wouldn't mind adding it as long as we had enough support to push it to 50 orders. Just give me a day or 2 and i'll add it to OP and make it official.
One thing to consider with this is if you guys want it to face the other direction thats gonna result in a $40 cutting fee since its technically a new design, but if you want to keep it the same direction and just change the color then the cutting fee from the regular longcat will cover it.

I want a troll face so bad. Why was it left out? I remember seeing it in the ic thread.

Yea, I had thought of that, but for the doppelganger to be useful it would really have to face the other way so that longcat and tacgnol can have their epic battle! We're already paying a fee for each of the other keys, so paying a fee for one more is nothing new.

Thats what I was thinking. I'll throw it up in the next day or so and if it picks up orders than I don't mind adding it in the middle of the group buy at all, and if it doesnt then we'll just throw it out

If you want them side by side you'd need a kinesis, which has a numpad enter on each of the thumb keywells. Otherwise you'd probably just put them on two different keyboards and one would be the longcat keyboard and the other the tacgnol keyboard. Third option is you just want to have black cat on a white key to begin with so now you can do that as well.

If you have one of those completely customizable matrix keyboards you could put them side by side as well, but I doubt many people have those.

Oh right, it's not a two stem key, it's a one with stabilizer, silly me. Here I was thinking you could put it over any set of two adjacent switches.

Yea, numpad + and numpad enter would probably be cool for most people, but I was hoping for Kinesis face to face cat showdown rather than numpad-I-don't-even-have-on-keyboards-I-use stacking time.

I'm having second thoughts about adding tacgnol because theres a divide of people who want it to say on enter key profile because it'll match in their kinesis' while others want it for number pad + instead of enter and they'll be able to have both on the numberpad

Yeah, it kinda looks like we wont get enough orders for it. I was just planning to buy it because I'm in a double shot key collection mood. Not that I have a kinesis. If it reaches 50, I'm down for 2, if it reaches 75, I'll be down for 4.

Regardless whether it happens or not, I'll be getting 2-4 long cats.

Yup thats correct. those are the only 2 keys that had simple enough detail to be doubleshot. everything else is sharp for the cutter so it has to be done by dye-sub

I see tacgnol and longcat as mostly an either-or for traditional numpads: you get the one that matches the color of the rest of your numpad keys, otherwise having them stacked as + and enter would be kind of odd looking because one of them would stand out pretty bad compared to the rest of the numpad.

If you've got one keyboard with white keycaps and another with black keycaps, which are the two most common colors so not something that unlikely, then you get both, one for each and if you put the two keyboards side by side they'd be facing each other.

If you have a kinesis you can achieve the same with one keyboard and in my case I'd be making the entire left half of the keyboard white and the right half black.

Why not make longcat/tacgnol GRAY with the cat in black/white?  Make them proper profile for ENTER and PLUS, and wacko keyboard people can deal with one being a bit off profile?

Well the problem is that it really depends what people are trying to do with them. Since I'm buying both, I wouldn't mind them both being grey background but most people either have white or black keyboards/keycap sets and would probably rather have the one that matches, or will only buy longcat because they don't really care about tacgnol, which is a meme inside a meme. If they are just getting one of the two, then it makes more sense for them to both be enter, since only having a + would be odd probably.

The wacko keyboard Kinesis people like myself is the reason that I had first suggested the tacgnol, because I have two numpad enters that are facing each other, which is what the famous longcat/tacgnol meme picture is about. If you've got a normal numpad, buying both to stack them on top of each other kind of defeats the purpose of the meme, and it's better that you just get the one that suits your color scheme best, or get them for two separate keyboards, since most of us have a bunch anyways.

Also, for the wacko keyboards, the numpad enters are space and backspace, which are two really common keys, so there is no way in hell I'd be able to deal with them being off profile whereas for people using it on a numpad, having numpad + a little off is much less of a problem.

Are we doubling longcat orders? Right now if we get to 80 longcats it cost 219.20 at that price, but 160 is only 228.80 at the 150 price break. So to get an extra 80 caps, it's only 9.60.

Assuming your numbers are right, I hope so as well. This is one of the things that I think that group buys haven't been taking enough advantage of. It forces everyone to pay a few cents more, but it encourages more people to buy and then if those people cause us to hit another price break the people who paid a few cents more actually end up spending less AND getting some free keys. Of course the issue is forcing everyone to pay those few extra cents, but in this case 9.60/80 is a measly 12 cents extra per key ordered before the double up.
