Heather violet is a nice colour, I would get a case in that colour.

Funny that you mention violet.  I'm dead set on a purple, but don't want something too bright.  I'm going with RAL 4007.  The sample is not very convincing, but after finding some examples where it was used in metal furniture and kitchen fixtures, I'm convinced.  On the lighter side, I think 4005 (lilac) is pretty cool, too.

I suspect that the website is foreign and translating their language into Engrish can be quite surprising.  Hence no one is sitting there typing up Rape Yellow as something insidious as they probably don't know the meaning of those words when stringed together.

Can you imagine if someone can type in specific colour codes with names such as Pillage Viridian, Gutfull Orange, Hemoroid Red, Salacious Mauve, DarkGoldenRod Purple, Voluptuous Pink, Beaver Brown, Hooker's Green and Sasha Grey.

I would definitely pick Sasha Grey.......every time.

Don't count on it.  Phantom is not exactly the same as Filco.  A PCB/plate combo designed to fit inside a genuine Filco case doesn't mean it would fit inside a case designed for Filco innards.  You might expect it to, but there are differences.  Don't count on it.

I've seen this question on several of these case threads (for acrylic, wood, and metal).  Rather than ask someone for their CAD files, I think it would be a great start for someone to start a wiki page that details the measurements of a Filco TKL plate and PCB.  Screw hole placement and diameter, thickness, tolerances, etc... If someone who has created one of these wonderful designs (or who owns a Filco TKL) would be kind enough to share that info, I think it would be a more reasonable request.  That way we have all have a place to start from.  The dimensions of the guts, after all, are the basis for what can be done with the shell.  Then it becomes more a question of what each person can accomplish from that starting point, rather than putting all of someone's hard work out there, subject to being copied.  Just my 2 cents.

You forget that a BUSINESS has paid someone to get those measurements in the first place.  Hence all the work becomes their sole property.  In case you haven't noticed yet, businesses need to make money so that they can pay for their employees.  Now giving away their measurements that they have PAID for, for FREE tends to quickly destroy that business before long.

Of course you are entirely welcome to get measurements from an actual product and start producing it yourself but don't expect people who have invested serious time and money to create these cases, to give it away for free to strangers.  Every production house in the world using milling and turning machines need to input the measurements themselves rather than downloading FREE data off the net.

Understood (both of you). But I'm not asking for the CAD file for the intentions to steal anything. To counter that point though, this is a forum where the backbone is based on people sharing knowledge that's already there with the rest of the community. If it was strictly business where the purpose is to not share info but rather make profit, then I wouldn't have asked. But according to feng, MKC made this case for fun and not profit. Personally, if I were doing a project for fun as an enthusiast, I would have shared all measurements with everyone else.

Ok I'm willing to spend the time to take all measurements, but I have no idea where to start. I don't know anything about CAD either. I don't think I have equipment precise enough to do it without serious margin of errors. Any pointers?

Its a discussion worth revisiting and you should start it in the 'Build Stuff' forum.

there is a pdf somewhere in the phantom thread which someone else made (soulhunter I think) that lists the case measurements for the top cut outs and LED hole stuff. I found it once but it is buried in the thread somewhere and I don't seem to have saved it locally

I just asked MKC, and obviously he's a business man and he wouldn't share the CAD file for free. He said he paid 10,000 RMB for the CAD file, and willing to sell it for 8,000 RMB which is about $1269.84 USD. :/
