Also, if you prefer, I would be willing to desolder all the switch for a $10 fee if you do not want the entire board and save on shipping a little. Estimated shipping for keyboard in US would be $16, International $30.

10 down 6 left. PM sent to all posted so far. Also, if you have not added your location to profile, please post it if you want to pay shipping up front. If I have sent a pay for shipping later message and you want to pay all up front for entire board shipping you know the applicable rates and adjust the total accordingly when pay.
Thanks.

The exact same model was sold here on GH classified and it says they are browns not clears.
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=14302.0

The caps alone will sell quickly at $45+(from the looks of the condition of the caps) and browns probably at $20, so the pricing seem to be pretty decent even if it is browns.

And that looks like they are all spoken for. Clears were confirmed with seller not assumed by me. I asked many questions before negotiating this price down from $90 a board. PMs sent. Please everyone get paid up asap I already have an invoice waiting to be paid for all of these. The faster you pay, the faster they are in the mail.

Yes, Cherry used the same model number code for both browns and clears. You have to physically check the board to tell which it has. :(

That is fine with me if you want to arrange something to ship together. 2 boards cost same since flat rate priority 23" x 12" x 3" box, I think can fit 2 boards in there.

HUBUS vs HPBUS U for usb, P for ps/2... one of the only sensible Cherry designations... but watch it, it is not always true LOL. But these are USB, I didn't think to mention it before. Bad on me for just assuming people would harvest the boards for other uses.

Yeah, I plan on using mine with my other one (in Browns, from reptile) as the best split keyboard ever.

Thanks for the info on the moder numbers. Can you also elucidate me as to the difference between this HUBUS and my HUAUS?

3 digit model codes, I know them, 5 digit model codes are like deciphering the mysteries of the universe. Basically with the 5digit all I care about is first letter and the 2 letter language code at the end. whatever is in between I figure out later. Usually has interface and switch for 2nd and 3rd but not consistent.

Third letter is for the card reader (number of/which tracks) for quite a few POS board models.

Good news is I received the keyboards today.
Bad news is many of you are likely to be quite disappointed. Only 9 of them are doubleshots, and NONE of them have clears, all browns.
I have tried to contact the seller about this, but have not heard back yet. I of course will do my utmost to get this all resolved and refunds issued as soon as possible.
I am terribly sorry.

What are the options you think may take place? Shipping them all back for refund, keeping the double shots, etc.

edit: It seemed like a great deal before because clears and double shots for either regular use and/or for parts. Browns are less enticing for switch harvesting but I was excited to get my first cherry double shots and cherry keyboard. If the consensus is this is still a good deal I might be interested still, even this keyboard with browns is pretty pricey on ebay.

I can't remember, is this the model where the ctrl, alt, etc keys will fit most ansi keyboards without needing to buy a moogle kit?

I have no idea how reasonable the seller is going to be at this point. They flat out lied to me, so I don't have high hopes. Ideally, I would like to be able to let 9 of you have the good boards, and have them resolve the rest of it in a sane manner. But if they aren't reasonable and I have to file paypal dispute, I am not sure what will happen then.

Yes, the doubleshots ones are exactly as the one pictured in the OP, ANSI and no moogle needed as it has the real thing.

Well it's not looking good so far. I have been arguing with them in emails now for 2 hours. After testing them 3 are also broken. It's looking like it will have to hopefully be resolved through paypal at this point, they really are not being reasonable. Either way I can afford to refund 5 people right now out of my own money. I don't think it's fair for all of you to have to wait for it to get resolved. Sorry I can't do better than this right now. First 5 to PM me will get the refund immediately. The others will have to wait, and I apologize.

Edit: I finally got them to agree to refund me on the broken ones at least, so as long as 9 of you still want the doubleshots ones, I can live with slowly recouping some of my loss by selling a f*ckton of brown switches, and the pbt sets. So that means I should be able to refund 7 of you now. If there are not 9 of you that do still want these, let me know and I can just have another that is interested in a board pay you directly. This is the best I can do for now, and I hope you all understand.

I'm cool with a working one that has doubleshots. I figure that I can grab the doubleshots for myself and give the board (with other keycaps) to a friend who still doesn't have a Cherry MX keyboard.

Also you couldn't know that they would lie to you so if it takes a brick off I'd like my first Cherry keyboard and I'll stick with my order.

I'm pretty sure the black cherry non doubleshot keys are actually POM. I have a set, and they are really awesome.

Lysol: This is bad news! I hope we can get it sorted out. I was actually not worried about the keycaps (Wanted to sell those and use the aforementioned lasered set), but I was only interested in clears, since I already have an 8113 with browns.

Keep us updated. I'm sure we can resolve this properly.

If they are POM... i am not a big fan... the legends are raised and feel weird and uneven, and all the other bad things people say about pom. Shiny, kind of unpleasant to me.
Still get the wonderful F  J scoops though!

Got 9 with doubleshots 8113HUBUS-2 and the 5 are white pbt 8113LUAUS-0.

Just like this one, and 2 with pom and the crappy ISO enter which were broken and one pbt one is broken.

Like I said, just let me know what you all want to do, if you want a refund I can make it happen now for several people. I want to make it right so I will be taking care of you myself and worry about recouping my loss. If someone is interested in a 8113LUAUS-0 I can work out a deal for that as well. Asides from the 3 broken ones that are all in very good shape at least.

You can keep my money until you figure this all out. If my board goes to someone else, I am also OK with that. As far as I am concerned, anything is ok. If you need to hold the funds a while, so be it. It's already paid for, I'm only out a set of caps, not a biggie. Whatever works for you Lysol.

There's no need for you to fall on your sword here, lysol.  Selling browns and POM keysets is not going to recoup 7 x $60.  We all went in on this together, and we should all share the loss.  I'm not sure how to resolve this fairly, but I can't take my money back and let you eat all the consequences.

It's such a great community here. I appreciate all of you for being understanding. If some want to work out some other arrangement like a partial refund or something, just PM me and we can discuss it. You're absolutely right, it won't allow me to recoup 100%, but I felt it was the right offer to make. It's not those who participated fault I got f*cked on a bad deal either.

I feel really bad because I PMed lysol for refunds when I saw that 'first 5 get refund' post.  It was almost a knee-jerk reaction on my part (too much time spent on classified? lol) and I didn't realize lysol was in danger of eating huge chunk of money by himself.  Lysol, I have that money sitting in my paypal account, please let me know if there's anything I could do.  Just want to let you know I'm willing to share the loss.  Thanks.

I really am not sure how to work it out so it is fair for everyone. As far as the doubleshots boards go I think the price is still pretty good for near new ansi set even if the switch type was the wrong one. Problem was not enough to go around due to the circumstances. I offered the refund because I felt it was the correct thing, so I can't fault any that accepted it. If you want to share in the loss that is up to you and I will certainly appreciate it.

For me $60 is a good price for the doubleshots, but the $30 for shipping a keyboard with browns here seems a bit crazy, so that I'd like to skip.
Then again I have no idea if I'm allowed a set of doubleshots, since everyone can't have one.

I'm not in any hurry to get any money back, so please keep it until we get this solved somehow. I agree with hashbaz though, and think we should share the loss. Alas I have no idea how we could make it fair for everybody.

Like for example, I can give you partial refund on the shipping, send you the caps only and keep the browns to sell. That would be an easy way for you to share the loss.

Dunno how I missed the thread updates!

Anyway, lysol you can do whatever you want with my money for now and you can send me whatever lol.  Whatever makes it easiest on you.  This was a group buy, and everyone involved should have known there may have been some risks, like with any purchase.  If I can eventually get a refund, or get shipped some doubleshots, or lasered keycaps, it doesn't matter to me.  Whatever you deem fair will be fair with me.

Hope that eases some of the problem...

I think it mostly settled, still waiting to hear back from 2 people, but those that wanted refunds have mostly gotten them, and ones who still want the doubleshot there should be enough for those that want them. The broken ones I am parting out, and I guess I will try and sell the working LUAUS ones whole first whether here or on ebay.
Yes, I am stuck with these. The invoice didn't have the full model number on it only 8113 which all of them were, and I got refund for the broken ones so paypal does not see anything to my argument.

Yes they are browns, and in near new shape. I will get some pictures of everything up later tonight or tomorrow at the latest. If I could get $50 for the LUAUS that would be ideal to minimize money loss, but I doubt I will be able to ge quite so much out of them here.

Sad to hear there was a problem. I'm not too sure what the options are, I would still love a board with double shots (even if it has different switches) but I don't know if thats still an option. I don't want to get a refund and leave you with the short end of the stick

The double shot should fit a flico/wasd/rosewill.... without the moogle right? All I would need is the arrow keys and the page up, page down..... keys? If so, how much do you want shipped? Would you sell just the keys?

I think I'll stagger PBT/POM on mine, or do halves or something. The possabilities are endless!

Got mine and they are pretty much brand new. The F and J do not have anything on them to help you find the home row, is this normal for Cherry double shots? Thinking about putting a small dab of finger nail polish or something on there. Now that I think about it I've seen F and J Cherry double shots with a hold drilled up from underneath, this would explain that.

They are scooped pretty sure. If you need nubs there are some stick on ones that don't ruin the keycap. Get those.
I do have some that are not scooped, but I don't think any of the boards I sent out were flat FJ. I also have a black on white set that have FJ center dot nubs like the numpad 5.

I love it so far. I know the arrow keys and such on the right are not all the correct profile but it doesn't look too bad and I can acquire non relengdable*spelling down the road. I am now a huge fan of cherry double shots. Scoops FTW.

I'd be curious how much it is to get just a set of black doubleshots off the keyboards shipped to Canada if there's any still available.

Mine came in.

Pro's:
Works
Looks almost unused
USB
PBT
Screwless construction

Con's
THIN PBT
3 clips holding it together in the front broke

Shipping damage:
Box looked like it'd been sat on.
2 keycaps fell off. No big deal.
The numpad enter key stabilizer came off, but it wasn't broken or anything, so I got a good look at it and reseated it.
---
I put on some thick Lasered POM to replace the thin PBT. It looks good with a black/white theme.
I replaced:
A-Z
` and 1-9 and -=
esc and F1-F12
Arrowkeys
The 0 . and 1-9 on the tenkey.

I might do the spacebar, too.

I got mine yesterday. Despite just buying the board for the caps, I kinda like the board. I might keep it and mod it to fit a Raspberry Pi since there seems to be a lot of room in the case to fit one.

Got my DS board yesterday.  Thanks!  Already temporarily swapped lasered keys on it, will eventually ninja/blank relegend it.  Don't like its poor nkro, but dig that most of the board can be set for macros with the downloadable cherry software.  May or may not swap in black switches (going to give brown a chance).

No sir! Your packing looked just fine for a keyboard. I'm very happy with this, and am using it now. USPS probably used it for volleyball or something. It's a testament to cherry's durability that it survived so well. You should have seen the box.

I'm looking for browns, so sorry about that.

I promise to read the entire thread before jumping into the contact from now on.

No they have browns. Perhaps I should have include that info in the first post. Not having clears is why I still have some left, as many that originally wanted one of these were only buying based on clears.

The trackpad does work without drivers. The card read does need the cherry tools driver/program to "work" mine just beeped at me and I got some random numbers. I'm sure someone smarter tham me can make the card reader functional

Yes trackpad works just like laptop, it shows up as generic poining device and require no additional driver. It has 800 or 1200dpi depend on which revision of the synaptics pad is installed. Card reader only works in application that are card reader aware, you can test it in Cherry tools but it's not needed for it to function I don't think. Also you can program all the extra keys to macros or anything else in Cherry tools.

Could be possible if you know how to set that up? There is a similar model that has smartcard reader just for that type of thing actually.
