[Closed] QWERKeys RGBY & Function Packs
« on: Mon, 08 October 2012, 19:18:26 »
Firstly, Welcome to the this group buy.

Let's get this started.

Items available.

1. RGBY J Series ( Standard Cherry Profile ) - Consisting of 2 Control , 2 Shift , 2 Alt , 2 Windows

Rough Idea.

Colors of the keycaps we will be using.

Red- 6th from the left (First Row)
Green - 1st from the left (First Row)
Blue - 5th from the right (2nd Row)
Yellow - We will be using the original yellow they have as below

Problems faced:
1.Problem we have now , what legend do you guys want on the 2 yellow windows key? Share your ideas! Providing SVG will help improve the volume of this groupbuy.

2.What Infill colors would you guys prefer for the legends? (I Will try get check if we can do different color infill on every single key.) eg. Blue infill on red control key, yellow infill on the blue alt key etc.

Assuming if we can only choose one infill color for all the keys, what color would you choose?

MOQ: 50 sets only!

Pricing:

24 USD/set (exclusive shipping)

2. B series Function Pack Keycaps

I am in the midst of asking if we can choose a different border color instead of the current available which are red , blue and green.
Eg. Purple sides etc.

In the mean time would be good as well for people to suggest a new set for this group buy. Otherwise i will just go ahead with the current sets that are seen in the above images.

MOQ: 10 per set ( Will confirm again if we can do a mix and match to hit the MOQ )

Price:

10 order:36.7 USD/set (Exclusive Shipping)
50 orders:  29.7 USD/set (Exclusive Shipping)

PRICE FOR RED BORDER & BLUE BORDER

USD 43 with tracking

Shipping cost will be updated at the end of the group buy.

I believe everyone have alot of ideas running in your head now.

Please throw in ideas if you feel that colors do not match etc.

Hope this group buy will turn out well.

Also, i will need someone (That people trust of course) in CONUS to handle CONUS shipping , it will not make sense for QWERkeys to ship to me in Asia and back to you guys. Let me know if you are keen.

Thank you!

Will you have 1.5x modifier options?

Star and Diamond shapes seem to be pretty popular in place of a windows logo.

For the function pack can I get the blue border, and no infill (blank?)

Also that green is kinda dark to use on RBG...

I would like two sets of F-keys in red-white-red.

Also, I am new here, but have a company that could handle receipt and re-shipment within North America.  We are a UPS shipper now, so they provide us with packaging, etc.  I am CCS256 on eBay with a 100% positive rating there, albeit mostly as a buyer.  I am also quite clear that trust is something that takes time to establish, so I will take no offense if/when a more senior member takes the NA re-shipment role.

Regardless of the above, I am very much in for two sets of F-keys in red-white-red.

Thank you for getting this GB started!

Hi MagicMeatBalls,

As of now i am targeting only to do up 1.25x modifiers unless there are a lot request for 1.5X modifiers. My apologies for that.

Hmm Stars and Diamonds. Will update that in post #3.

   Thanks.

Hi Sifo,

As of now i would like to standardize the packs that we are ordering so that there won't be a huge variety in this group buy that may cause confusion between the communication between QWERkeys and I.

What about the green 2nd from the left? Does that looks better?

I would like two sets of F-keys in red-white-red.

Will take into consideration your volunteer, however it will still be base on the majority before we finalize who will handle the shipping.

    Thank you

Hi Zarlek,

   Roger on your interest.

As for Shipping, i will discuss with QWERkeys regarding the shipping to US and Singapore.

If shipping from my side is cheaper than going through another middleman in states,  i will get it shipped to me for me to do the sorting and handling.

RGBY I'm in for one, unless there is a separate one for 1.75 modifiers to be KBT Pure compatible then two.
Function pack I'm interested in Red text on White background with Red on the outside to match red alert set.

Any chance for number row?

Hi Daniel,

I am sorry to say that i doubt we will be going into 1.75x modifiers as of now.

And may i know if you are referring to "`" to "=" key as your Number Row?

May take that into consideration if there are sufficient interest.

The dark green looks really good in person. @OP: We should choose the darker blue one to the left of it (Blue 5'th from the right). As much as I like lighter blues, I think it'll look better with the darker green we have.

I may be interested in a function kit and maybe a RGBY, depending on final colour options.

Hmm was thinking if we should go darker or lighter, because the green was stated to be too dark at first when i chose the 1st from the left.

Yea number row would be the "~`" to the "+="

Depends on the demand, if there is sufficient demand to hit MOQ i will request from QWERkeys if we can do a go with it.

Looks like i will be going for the darker tone colors.

Hmm those keys we have, seems like yellow infill looks good on them.

For yellow key maybe a red infill or black?

Gotta check with QWERkeys if we can do that.

i am in for RGBY and both two function sets.
i suggest use the same style color for filling in for the RGBY set. the style i mean is: orange on yellow for Win. sky blue on blue for ALT, and light green on dark green for SHIFT, i have no idea about the red ctrl since it looks pink doesn't fit. maybe orange on red?
the font i prefer is cherry font. and NO DIAMOND ON WIN PLEASE! since it is ugly.

Hi There,

Firstly, may i know which function set are you keen in?

Noted on the colors for in fill.

Font wise, i am not sure whether they do have exact cherry fonts, as of now we can treat it as default QWERkeys fonts.

   Noted on No Diamond LOL.

For the green sets they come with green infill on white , as for blue i am not sure whether they allow that but i will try, as of now i will only place you down for green on white first then.

For Alt, i am sorry to say that this time round we are most likely going at the darker colors with bright infill colors.

Yes, exactly correct.  F1 through F12 with red sides and red infill on white top, as seen in picture 3 for the power button and in the [IC] thread.

A few quick questions about the RGBY sets:
1. Sizes: Will the Ctrl, Meta and Alt keys all be 1.25, or will there be an option for Ctrl and Alt in 1.5 and Meta in 1?
2. Is the J Series doubleshot, or laser engraved with infill?
3. Will the legends have options for black/white like previous GBs?

I vote yes for diamond, but would be ok with the star legend.

So, RGBY set is going to be engrave/infill? How about oneproduct's suggestion from another thread:

Could I suggest something? Why don't we make a ninth key to replace the Menu/Meta button on the keyboard between right windows and right control? I always find it unusual to have an RGBY kit that covers all the lower modifier keys but that leaves the Menu key on its own and looking really out of place next to the brightly colored keys. Orange comes to mind as a good color as it fits between yellow and red.

Personally right now I'm using two different yellow tones from different RGBY group buys. Would be nice to have the Menu key using something other than a diamond though.

Show Image
Show Image

There was also RGBY GB in the past where Cherry logo was used instead of diamond legend for win key.

I personally would really like to see some day an RGBY/menu key/red esc set in thick Cherry PBT with star legends win keys (or something better)... One can dream, right? For QWERkeys B series RGBY's would be something new and fresh, though i'm not sure about what profile it use. J series is fine.

I really like this idea of adding in an orange(or any other color) key to replace the menu key as that could be a small factor for people when considering putting an RGBY set. I was thinking of the yellow that is 4th from the left would be nice for the menu key and instead of the diamond seen above, just have Menu as the text. I am open to either star or diamond but would like to see a mockup of a star legend for better reference. I really like the colors as they are of similar tone and shade. I might have missed reading this part, but is this going to be pbt plastic or abs? And what kind of printing? Anyways, count me in for one RGBY set!

i think when we order all the stuff for this I am going to order for ISO layout too so we can get this going for our UK customers as well
Will these be for sale on your website then? Makes more sense for me to order from there rather then a group buy as I'm in the UK.

QWERkeys have the intention to sell them on their webpage , however this group buy will provide a better price than on retail on the web =D

They will be infill, as of now, likely to be white or black infill. Diamond is out, I may check with QWERkeys if they can have Cherry Logo to replace the Windows key instead.

Im going to go broke with all these group buys going on. i do like the current colors RGBY and the black but would like to see mock ups of other ideas. Throw me down for RGBY

Noted on your interest.

Hi There,

As of now, we are targeting 8 keys, 2 shift , 2 ctrl , 2 alt , 2 windows, for the right click (menu) function key , i will need to recheck with them if there will be a price increase if it is added into the sets.
And this will be in ABS. For Menu, maybe we may use orange or yellow as of the picture of keycaps on Post #1.

   Noted on your interest.

Hi Ron,

F keys i suppose function keys right? And red white red, i assume it is exactly the same as what you see on picture 3 for the power button? =D

Yes, exactly correct.  F1 through F12 with red sides and red infill on white top, as seen in picture 3 for the power button and in the [IC] thread.

I'm in for one RGBY set. If there is going to be the possibility to also get a menu key I'd definitely want one (woudn't mind an increase in price).

As for the label of the meta key(s): diamons for me.
If black/white labeling is up for choice: white :)

Chances that your order will only be shipped out from CONUS instead or directly from Asia.

I'm already in for 2 sets of red-white-red of Function keys, although I see we have not hit the MOQ.

Assuming we hit MOQ, I would like to request three sets of four matching keys for the top row:

1. Esc
2. Mute
3. Soft
4. Loud

(I use #2-4 to replace the useless three at the top-right.)

I'm happy to put this to Qwerkeys directly as well, but the above would be another dozen keys, or another 1 "hit" against MOQ.

Please advise here or via PM if I should ask Qwerkeys directly.  I have not done so yet because I do NOT want to get in YOUR way dealing with the GB.

Thanks for this and for working the GB!

Is anyone interested in doing B-series RGB-Y mods? I've been keeping up on some of the other QWERkeys GBs and read that they are capable of anything under 2.00x for B-series. In that case, they would be able to do all of the bottom-row mods B-series and the shifts K-series, just an idea as I know everyone loves the B-series look. This might be something for another group buy though since this one is quite a ways underway.

I will check if White Legends will be available.
As of now , Orange key will be the word MENU or would you guys prefer the original legend itself?

Function Row:
Red BORDERS IS GOOD TO GO
Blue BORDERS (3 MORE)
Green Borders (9 MORE)

Will prepare total cost etc and pm you guys soon.

Mine just say despatched (their spelling) to the US.  USPS says they've been notified of the package and my other third party tracker doesn't show that it's left singapore.  Hopefully they're close, though.

I've been tracking mine through Canada Post, so that's odd that USPS has nothing about it :\

Yeah, nothing I can find shows it's even in a customs stop.  Just that origin post is preparing shipment.

Got both my sets today. They look really good. The red on the Red/White/Red power key is really orange. I was expecting it to be off but wow. Thanks for running this Marc!
