Hi, I am kin25 of txkeyboards.com

I am making tx108se. I want to take preorder for checking winkey/winkeyless color rate.

Cases are being made in new factory, quality will be better than before.

(1) set : alu top, alu bottom, 1.5t brass plate(cnc, combo), brass weight(washboard shape), 2t pc diffuser(cnc, translucent), new suo108 pcb(one color switch LED indivisual control, bottom rgb led, Logo rgb), bag, cable.

(2) structure : top mounted plate, 4.3kg(assembled weight)
(3) anodizing color : black, silver, grey
(4) winkey, winkeyless, ansi, iso, many layout are available.
(5) price : set($460), extra brass plate($60), extra pcb($70), + paypal fee(4.5%), + shipping
(6) preorder : Dec.1. 2018 ~ Dec.4. 2018 (for 4 days)
(7) invoice payment : Dec.1. 2018 ~ Dec.10. 2018 (for 10 days)
( 8) shipping : Jan. 20 (+-20 days)
(9) shipping cost
this is maximum ems price, after shipping, I will refund the difference, I will try to send via proxy for saving shipping for users)

I’m interested but can you explain a bit better about the TX logo? They appear to be some kind of inserts now as opposed to the cutouts in the 84SE - is that accurate?

Couple of questions (sorry in advance for being a noob, never bought a board off GH or Kin25 before and am new to the mech keyboard game)

1) Which colour is the board featured in the pics Grey or black?
2) On the preorder form, how do I read the 0-4 winkey/winkeyless option?
3) Do I write the kind of layout I want in the comments?
4) Is this a do it yourself kit or is assembly an option?

2) you can check the buying quantity on the options.
3) you don't need to write your layout. Because the switch plate has many holes for switch. You can assemble the board.

Yes. You can use without diffuser, and you can turn off RGB leds.

I changed diffuser. Not acrylic but pc.
Pc is tougher than acrylic.
It is translucent and made by cnc.

Bag shipping cost was more expensive than i expected, so bag gb will not run again.

But spring, film and cable are not heavy, so they will sell by GB again.

Tx108se extras will be sold in March.

Without suo 108L pcb, you can't use the program. It will not show keylayout.

Based on what was said above, there were only a few boxes with boards opened and since those are messed up, they’ve been bumped to the back of the list and won’t even be looked at until all the other orders are sent out.

Don't think you meant to ask me - but I'll take a crack at answering. When you download the zip file and extract it, then extract the zip within the first zip, it should create a bunch of files and folders. It looks to me the only exe file to run is called TX_Device.exe

Did you run this file after extracting suo.zip and then extracting the (second) zip file within that?

So I just got my tx108se yesterday and I wanted to test the PCB before soldering.

It seems to power, but if I put *any* pressure on the usb port it powers off and resets. The soldering on this part for any level of board isn't great, and certainly not for a TX-branded product.

Kin - can you please suggest what I should do, as every time I move the pcb or keyboard it powers on/off?

Here are pics of the soldering on the usb port.

EDIT: Replacement PCB sent out already, outstanding and proactive response from Kin/TX!

I received my replacement 108se pcb from TX today. It looks so clean and professionally done compared to the first one, and no issues with it resetting if you bump the pcb port or anything. No one here has mentioned it and I didn’t seem to have anything in the package noting it either? If so is there any clever trick to doing so? The top piece I feel like I can just snap off but the bottom piece feels more sturdy.

I almost asked this question earlier haha. I was able to snap off both pieces. you have to make it fit with the case/plate. The bottom takes a little wiggling

I've screwed in all my stabilizers and it feels like the plate doesn't flush with the PCB and this feels wrong. Like the plate hovers above the PCB making it really weird to pop in the switches. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure the stabilizers are mounted correctly.

I not sure if I understand it correctly but there is supposed to be a gap between the PCB and the plate. The plate and PCB don't sit flush meaning that they don't touch each other. The switch is fit in a way that only the top stays above the plate while the bottom housing sits between the plate and the PCB with the metal pins going into the holes of the PCB

You could reflow the solder for that LED...? Add some flux first and tap on some solder.

Ok, I'll ask ). I have downloaded the software. Now what? None of the files I try to open will actually open, besides the picture of the TX logo. All of the other files ask me to pick a program and none of them work.

Don't think you meant to ask me - but I'll take a crack at answering. When you download the zip file and extract it, then extract the zip within the first zip, it should create a bunch of files and folders. It looks to me the only exe file to run is called TX_Device.exe

Did you run this file after extracting suo.zip and then extracting the (second) zip file within that?

Oops...I copied the wrong person, but I think I tried that. Here’s a pic of what happens when I do that. And none of the programs I can pick from are going to work. IE, MS store, notepad, paint, WM player, and word pad

Well....I figured out how to control some of the lighting.

What happens when I boot up the program is I have that blank page in you second picture, if I do get the prompt about the keyboard software after pressing the Suo button, nothing happens. So I'm basically stuck in the second picture without a keyboard.

The updater doesnt seem to work, it's stil on version 1.7.0.0 after the update. Super frustrating :(

So I updated the Suo software with either FT001.cyacd or FT001-0915.cyacd and the board starting acting totally crazy. The Suo program no longer recognizes it and the board is spouting out keyboard inputs, alt-shortcuts messing everything completely up forcing me to unplug it. Video here:

The board was working fine until this except I couldn't program it. Is there a way to flash/reset the board somehow?

It took me a while to figure this out, but if anyone doesn't know, here's a link on how to get your VID/HID: https://www.synology.com/en-us/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/Compatibility_Peripherals/How_do_I_check_the_PID_VID_of_my_USB_device

It was myvmistake.
FT001.cyacd and FT001-0915.cyacd were a old version firmware.
They were made before getting tx vid from usb.org.
So if you will update firmware with these files, the tx108se keyboard would not work.

I changed and uploaded new files. (With new firmware)

Built a 108se for my Pops. Today he told me his keyboard stopped working. Asked him if he potentially shocked the keyboard at all. He does not remember any shock happening, just randomly stopped working as he was typing.

I have the keyboard now in front of me and can't get any PC to recognize it (tried 3 so far). PCB seems dead.

Any suggestions from anyone? I'll be opening it up after work today to see if I can identify any issues with the PCB.

Have you tried fiddling around by moving the usb connection into the pcb? my first pcb had a cold/poorly soldered usb connection and it would turn off all the time if the usb connection / cord got nudged even slightly - i wonder if your board has a similar (albeit worse) problem?

Yeah well kin would have to look into it given that he's moving to suo PCBs for all his boards.

I tried changing the locale to Korea too but didn't help.

Was really hoping for it to work. The Tx_suo_PCB_v1.7 is the only version where the TX_Device has actually opened. I don't get a keyboard gui/layout there but I can control the lighting. With the 1.8 and the 2.2 the TX_Device exe simply doesn't load

I just double clicked the key I wanted to set to FN and clicked on the Fn in the bottom of the layout window.

Hello,

I have been a lurker for too long and this is my first post. I have a TX108SE and its working fine.. For the longest time, i want to make the 4 keys above the numpad to be more useful for me but no luck on changing the keymap using the suo software.. I have tried all versions and i can only get a blank window... just, nadah, an all gray screen with a settings button at the upper right corner of the window. Hope to get some help from fellow TX108SE users in the house..
