How come the leftovers price is $105 more than the group buy?

Because there is no wait for production. I took on the cost of all the extra units to get to production moq. I also charged very little over production cost for the gb. I feel it's a fair markup, you're free to disagree.

The second sentence makes it make sense. I don't disagree, although I was interested in it a while back. Looks like it turned out great.

Modified QMK to do software brightness control of the backlight. There's probably a better way to do it, but this works well enough for me.

Hey Evan, are the round 2 caps going to have bars/scoops on the F/J keys? I love the set, but the lack of indicators throws me off.

Yes, they will be scooped.  Midnight drive was actually supposed to have bars, but somehow that got missed.

I'm so happy now. My only complaint is that you don't have an option for green anodized case, but I suppose it would be difficult to do that so soon for R2.

Here's my finished build

I lubed the gateron reds before soldering and oh boy, I have underestimated smooth linear switches.
I also used two cherry lock switches but i'm still experimenting the usability with them. I may end up removing the second one.

This is a solid board, thanks for running this buy evangs.

Great photos. Do you feel that the lubed Gateron Reds are significantly different from stock Gat Reds? I'm planning on using them in my next build, and I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle of lubing them.

Personally, yes. I haven't actually compared typing on unlubed reds vs lubed reds, because I lubed them before I soldered them for the first time, but I have another board with unlubed gateron blacks and I undoubtedly prefer the lubed reds, even though I generally like heavier switches.
