I'm a betrayer.... This isn't Topre.....

Got myself a QFR to mess around with (and to put pretty keycaps on)

Popped some soft landing pads on this right away

On a side note: wow... Costar stablized keys are freaking loud.............

It's supposed to look good, which IMO it does.

Ah, okay... I was just curious, because it seems like when most people buy vintage, collectable stuff, they want it to be as close as possible to its original appearance.

I am facepalming so hard right now...   :-[

The package containing my blue RF topre set + GMK Charred Orange arrived back in October.  I have no recollection of receiving the package, and figured it was just lost in the mail.

Today I spotted an "unknown" package leaning against the wall, literally 2 feet from where I sit every day; I decided to explore what might be in it.

Well, if you guys have any doubt—I have no problem whatsoever with people customizing their KBs (or anything else) however they want to.

I'd just never seen anyone do that kind of thing with a vintage KB. Like I said, till now I had the idea that people who collected/restored old KBs (and lots of other vintagey things) went to a lot of trouble to make them as authentic-looking as possible, if anything. But it's a big, creative community and there are no rules.

I'm still learning about the whole cool MKB culture—by hanging out here on GH, because you guys know so much about it. But you needn't assume I'm some kind of villain... The way I see it, there are already enough people in the world who don't care about all this.

 :blank:

well then

This is halarious XD
Any idea how long it might have been sitting there? when was it expected to arrive?

It arrived on October 15th, according to the tracking information.   :))   Only 125 days....

Imagine you did a Paypal charge back and called out the seller as scammer!
And then this!

Mannnn... most funny post today! You win hands down, Hoff..

and your drinking the Apple ale with all your CC. Did you clean them inch by inch with a tooth brush or something?

Today I received my package from EK:

Some grease, lube and soft landings pads. I'll be able to perform Spicebar's silencing mod on my Novatouch. These stabs are just damn too lousy.

Haha, that would have been (even more) embarrassing.   :-[   Thankfully, the seller provided the tracking number so once I remembered I had purchasd them, I was able to confirm that I should have received it.  And I actually sent them a PM to confirm that it was indeed sent.   :))   I figured it was my own fault all along though, so I wasn't prepared to charge-back.  :P  I just felt really dumb for losing a package in my own home.   :-X

I rinsed all those caps off and left them to dry.  :D  They're all safe!  Don't worry.   :-*

I don't know if you care but you might want to edit out your address.

People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Got our shipment from our flat in China. It was about half of a 20' shipping container with 43 items, about half are boxes of 东西 (stuff) and the other half was furniture boxed up. Most of this stuff we haven't seen in about 2 years; it was like Christmas for my kids!  I got some cool stuff too:

Fun books like my climbing guides and my awesome English-Hebrew interlinear New Testament:

My PLU ML-87 and my other-other Poker X:

My old rig...still pretty cool IMHO:

Fountain pens and old Ti Benchmade knife:

I don't understand.  Can you explain why it's been 2 years?  I would think you'd want that stuff sooner than later.

Yeah, sorry there's a bit of a back story. We left in 2013 thinking we would be gone just 2-9 months, because of my migraine treatment. But then it didn't get better so we decided to stay for at least several years.  So then we had to wait until my wife could go over to pack up stuff. And then it took 3 months to arrive to the USA. And then we were still in an apartment with no place to put it, and I was too sick to find a house.  So then finding/closing on/moving into a house took 4 months longer. Haha.

So, sorry for the OT but that's the saga.
I'm back.

That makes sense.  Sorry, didn't mean to pry.   :-X   I forgot that there could very well be involuntary reasons to have it delayed so long.   oops.   :-[

At any rate, I'm glad you are reunited with your belongings.  :)  And back to the topic at hand of mail-receivings!
