There was a problem with shipping the plates to China. It takes more time than I expected.
So the boards will be shipped in next 10 days.

Just trying to figure out the steps here. So the plates will ship to you from China in the next week? And then... Is everything ready to send to out after you get the plates? So are we looking at 2-3 weeks and people will have E8-V1s on their desks?

i thought i should comment about the status of this group buy, since i have been in touch with exclusive and jhoang still has not updated this thread.

as i am told by exclusive, (and please correct me if i am wrong) the plates should be en route to him in china from jhoang in vietnam. according to jhoang, the plates were shipped sometime last week but tracking was not provided. in the meantime, jhoang has been unreachable by anyone. when exclusive receives the plates, it will take him approximately 5 days to reanodize them and ship back to jhoang. jhoang has all the other parts in his posession.

with all the delays and time it takes to ship parts back and forth between everyone, it could be another 3-4 weeks before buyers receive their kits. i would like to point out that the timeline will be nearing the limitation for a paypal dispute. any further delays will push this group buy beyond that point.

i have talked with a few buyers individually, so i will add this note. personally, i trust exclusive to provide a quality product. the lapse in communication and lack of follow-through from jhoang concerns me at this point. hopefully he can provide an update that will dispel any anxieties we have.

I echo your sentiments 100%. I am confident that Exclusive will make and deliver awesome keyboards. However, the poor communication and inconsistency is troubling - especially for those of us considering passing another chunk of money their way for the E6-V2. As we all know, delays are expected. But a little update goes a long way. As I mentioned in the E6 thread, I would sure like some assurance from exclusive that buy will be handled better than this one.

I think most of the comments sums up what I'll be doing aswell. I would like a new invoice sent with my old invoice refunded to extend PayPal's buyers protection. If I don't receive the new invoice I'll be disputing the sales before the deadline (23rd aswell)

I've joined the GB for the E6-V2 but won't be paying for the invoice until some of us have received our E8-V1, I love the look of your products and I am looking forward to future projects, but I'm not very happy with the new group buy being put forward when no one's recieved their old GB.

I am leaking over here from the e6 page.. I would most definitely like to see some E8's delivered before I pay for my E6.. I am happy if the invoicing waits fulfillment of this buy, or at least a handful of boards. Hopefully you guys get an update! I'm only speaking for myself but it's nothing personal against jhoang. It's just that between the board and assembly service, I've spent a little over $600 on this and I would just like to keep my paypal protection in case there is a problem with it.

It's just strange. I realize that he said on the 28th that the plates would ship in 10 days. So, it's quite possible that everything is fine. I mean, if we're talking business days, that means they won't even ship until the 11th. But what's strange is that he doesn't update us. What's the angle? Is he having personal problems? Does he need a keyboard to type the update with?

I suppose he might just be waiting to tell us when they've shipped.
