Rince, 2 cups water, 1 cup rice, add salt, bring to simmer, cover for 15 min, off heat for 5 minutes, fluff and serve. What would a rice cooker change if I already enjoy the texture of my rice?
The main thing I like about mine is having access to warm rice all day. You can make some in the morning, and if you are puttering around the house all day, it keeps it moist and fluffy so you don't need to reheat. Also, just generally more automatic. Because it has internal sensors, I just fill it and walk away until I hear it play Greensleeves. No stirring, no lids, no drips, no overboil.
2:1 ratio for rice is just wrong, idk where this lie perpetuated from. WAY too much water with a 2:1
