I'll take you up on that. Got my Black HHKB up in the classifieds right now, but I'll trade it with you for a 660C in a heartbeat :)

Hell, I'm going to be in NY for work next week, we can meet up in person :)

Yup, but 45g plate mounted (ala RealForce), rather than PCB(sorta) (ala HHKB)

Is there noticeable advantages/disadvantages of a plate mount over a PCB mount?

Depends on preference, really. Plate mounted boards tend to feel a bit more "solid". Also, the HHKB is a bit louder than the RealForces due to the entire case resonating. The plate helps dampen down some of that vibration, so the RealForce boards are a bit quieter than the HHKB.

I think I like topre, I just might like topre.

Still need to get a review done on this keyboard. This is my first 45g topre as I've owned 2 55g RF 10th AE(daerid owns one of previous RF).

I feel the HHKB might be coming my way soon :D

The $200 he mentioned wouldn't be a huge problem for me.  I could turn it for almost, if not the same, price or sell my RF55g and more than pay for it, assuming I like it more.

But it feels to me through what he has said that the ones he has now are already all spoken for.

People who have it said it's closer to a realforce than HHKB. Some preferred it over the HHKB but then again this is purely subjective so YMMV.

Just opened mine.  So far I like it.  Definitely like the feel better than my 45g Realforce.  It does indeed feel closer to the HHKB ... just a bit "snappier".  The biggest disappointment is how quiet it is though.  I'd say it's quieter than both a RF and an HHKB.

Now that you say that, when I go back and check again it is probably of similar loudness or maybe a bit louder than the RF.  But not as loud and thocky as the HHKB for sure.

I got mine today as well, and I'd agree with that. But as a current owner of a RF and previous owner of a HHKB, I like both the sound and feel of this board to either. The layout is perfect for me and the keys that I use. (May take some adjustment for others.) Seriously considering getting an MX version now, just so I can play with keycaps easier. :-)

Based on one of the comments on the product page, it looks like a non-printed version will be available at some point. I'd be in for 2 of those if someone were willing to buy them on my behalf.

I'm really enjoying my HHKB2 Type-S, but I do miss the dedicated arrow keys. The reports of a softer landing than the HHKB2 also interest me.

It's kind of a Super Poker.  It has a lot of the same attributes except you don't have to give up all of the right mods for an arrow cluster, you get a Del key, and the Esc/tilde situation is handled much more conveniently.

Oh, and it's Topre. :-)

He's saying he prefers the 660C to both the HHKB and the RF, both in sound and feel.

His choice of phrase is rarely used, but still accurate.

A bit louder and a snappier feel.  Seems to be a blend in between RF and HHKB.

boost has a post up in the interest check section.

Question:
For anyone whom has one of these alongside a RF.  Which would you prefer.  I would love to get a second Topre board, however I only want the best.  I'm not concerned with the price difference.  So, price aside, which is more of a pleasure to type on?

Thanks

I had a 86UB variable and now that I have the 660C I could honestly go either way. I like the small size of the 660C more. The key travel seems to be longer than the RF and I like the 45g quite a lot. The spacebar is a little too heavy though compared to the keys.
