I love the theme!
Maybe we can get more renders with the Zireael kit?
I am so in for this
I quite like this. ne NorDeUk kit avail?
No chance on it being KAT ahahah?
Please add light color alphas kit for those who prefer more contrast between modifiers etc.
The same light greyish color as those from the spacebar kit.
I kinda wish you called the whole thing Gwynbleidd. I think this is the first time Welsh is being used in a keyboard GB and it's got me feeling all sorts of patriotism.
As for the actual set, it's a really solid mono set and I like the duller contrast. The novelties are actually really well done, though I disagree with them being in the base kit. Would like to see the colours used to be mentioned too. That being said, this will do well!
Pob lwc!
any normal accent esc and enter keys avail?
For the record: using N9 keys with 2M legends. Accents are DY and TU1.
N9, 2M. I asked on reddit and cheated and looked at the colors of Lunar

Also, since we are celebrating a Polish author with this set, maybe the base alphas could use the sub legends of the Polish Programmer’s QWERTY?Show Image(https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6e/Polish_programmer%27s_layout.PNG/800px-Polish_programmer%27s_layout.PNG)
That particular layout doesn’t differ from US QWERTY in any visible way except for those sub legends, so it wouldn’t add keys to the kit.
Would you consider adding R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn, please? Based on popularity, I'd say it'd be more worthwhile than, say, 2× 1.5u Code and extra 1u Alt, or numpad 00.
Speaking of PgUp/PgDn, it'd be cool to rearrange the Sign novelties so they can be used as those keys (resembling up/down arrows), for both R2/R3 and R3/R4 setups. Something like this:Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/hjrOc29.png)
Considering the fantasy setting, Super would fit better than Code, imo. :)
How about Scroll instead of Lock?
R3 \|, R4 <> would be better than R3 #~, R4 \| since the set doesn't have the rest of the UK ISO support.

Oh hey, born in Swansea here ;D
I'm interested in this set depending on the cost. I was personally put off by the high cost of Lunar and had to skip it. IDK Numpad plus UK ISO in a separate kit has always been my preference if that means keeping cost down, I imagine there are many of us that have no use for either :blank:
WHEW,
this set ticks off all the boxes for me, this will be a personal must have!
a quick question would be, since the numpad matches the exact color of gmk lunar, would it be better to differentiate it some way or maybe move it from the base kit?
Any ideas for a matching Mousepad as also an usb cable for the keyboard? (spacecables for example)
Wait. Your description says extra B for Alice but it’s not in the render. I would also like to see 1u convex space key in the spacebar kit.
Do you have any charts or KLE links to provide the exact sizing and row of each key in each kit?
What are the color codes?

Really dig the color. I know you said the tone is different from GMK Nines, but as someone who already bought Nines, I would love to see a color comparison side-by-side of White Wolf and Nines. So, I can have a better understanding on the color. :thumb:
I would auto buy if there was a Roach text novelty.

I’m trying to get the base as close as possible to 99 USD while keeping it on theme at the same time.
Quick question: Will there be dots and will they be accent, or mod colored?
With the fluctuations in the world economy, I know we here in Canada would appreciate it if you were willing to have a Canadian vendor or proxy like deskhero involved.
Now I want it on the iso enter. Roach rearing up, geralt on his back.I would auto buy if there was a Roach text novelty.
Which key?

Couldn't we have just ran a novelty kit for nines?
Couldn't we have just ran a novelty kit for nines?
The Witcher hair color really is 2M though. Given the happenings in the MinimaII thread I'm not sure Emir would be up for it either.
I like it how you have it.
I'm sure youve got a milliion novelty ideas right now, but if Netflix Witcher Nilfgaardian armor texture gamer sets isn't the worst idea someone's shared with you, I've love to hear what's number one.
I have had a few requests to remake the novelties so they can be used as arrow keys and better fit Home/End/PgUp/PgDn. I might rework them.
I like the Scroll and Super suggestions. Will incorporate those.
Since you didn't answer on reddit. Has CDPR given you permission to use the witcher signs in the novelty kit or not? Otherwise I believe you better think about doing something about that...
I'm not finding any info online which would indicate that all of "signs" symbols are copyrighted. While this certainly doesn't mean they are not copyrighted, it seems a little unlikely IMO. I'm not an expert, but copyrighting every symbol and icon used in series would be very tedious... you're talking hundreds upon hundred of copyrights. Have to draw the line somewhere, right?

While i would normally agree with you, these symbols are VERY popular in the game series. Although not every icon may be copyrighted, as I do understand it is quite tedious of a process, the Witcher Signs are of incredible significance in the games, and are an overall well known item of the game series. By "taking" art that is used through all 4 of the games (including Gwent in that), even a request for permission to use the logos should be adequate enough. Considering what happened with GMK Rudy with the use of the Notre Dame clover, this is just as risky, and CDPR is a company that is far more strict with their IP. After months of minor contact with CDPR (Wanted to run a set by the name of GMK White Wolf as well and had been planning it for the last 3 months) they seem to be pretty strong on their IP. I would just give a heads up to the designer of this set to at least try to get permission before taking the logos and essentially making money off of CDPRs IP.

I had not heard about Rudy. That's unfortunate. It makes me wonder if other GBs with well-known IP (like DSA Galactic Empire and the multiple groups making Pokemon artisans) got permission or if they've just been lucky.

It might be worth asking if they have those or something very similar for Polish keyboards. I imagine GMK does enough global business that they may have legends already created for a country that is literally right next door.

For what it's worth, I think the Sign novelties look kickass as right column keys, but don't think they would work as arrows.

I would love to see more novelties!
split numpad and iso to a separate kit to make the base kit cheaper
I prefer kits with separate numpad so I don’t need to buy that as well, personally
Please don't split Numpad. I don't understand the thought process of cutting a $10-15 kit when you're already spending $100+. And then asking people that do want Numpad to pay $30-40 is madness to me.
Light alphas is needed for those who want to deviate a little from the original design and require more contrast between their modifiers and alphas. :)
Fewer spacebars in spacebar kit, or put split grey spacebars in base. Love the kit otherwise, it's what I've been looking for!
Possible to get a shine-through novelty kit?
See-through for rgb backlit
Add keys of all the signs or Witcher schools
I'd love to have an Iso NorDe Kit, I was searching for a GMK set with an iso kit with nice colours for a year now :)
A design on some of the space bars would be nice.
I really hope there is a deskmat that is created for this because even if I couldn't get the keycaps I would 100% get a deskmat. Something that I think would look cool is doing the symbol design like one of the GMK Lunar deskmats but doing it with the signs. Other than that something like GMK Ashes mat would also be awesome. Good luck man! I hope I can pick one of these up!
To add on to my previous response, please consider moving the novelties in base and include more 2M accents to emphasise a little more of the ‘White Wolf’ portion of the set
I'd rather see 1.5u Code keys in the base kit than novelties, which I almost never use. Otherwise, it looks great. Will def check out the White Wolf books, too.
Instead of having the one steel sword printed on the enter key, you could have a steel sword on one shift key and a silver sword in the other to make it more true to the Geralt wielding two swords. :) GMK Red Samurai does this with katanas for reference.
Would be cool to have a runic silver sword with an angled hilt (V-shaped like the show/game) and the traditional steel sword with a regular hilt as the shifts. That way it fits Geralt with the two sword theme.
F-key caps added to Zirael?
A Roach text novelty please!
Could you add 1.75 r3 (enter or novelty) key for 40s support (mainly Elise personally but could help other 40s fellas). I'm planning to alternate using this between Rukia and Elise and these caps would complement both perfectly. Tytyty
For 65%, a R3 PgUp and a R4 PgDn would be nice. An international/nordic kit would also be nice.
Possibly more novelties overall, definitely more of the 1.25 length for the bottom row.
It would be cool to have a set with the witcher Elder language on the alphas
On GH you said extra B for Alice but it’s not in the render. Also, I would like to see 1u convex spacekey. I know not all set offers it in spacebar kit and it seems to be 50/50, but for me personally, not having all three space bars being convex really bothers me.
Maybe change the number pad's enter key to use a steel sword icon? It'd be neat to have both since his two swords are so impotant.
The teal/blue green accent be a little more bright blue, similar to the in-game Aard teal
NORDE kit and its a instant buy for me!
If you could put Asian/foreign language letters in white underneath the regular letters I’d loveeee it!
I would like to see icon mods added (preferably to base)
you might want to consider using vendors other the TKC -such as NovelKeys
that have better MOQ pricing for kits
Move numpad or get a less expensive vendor. TKC pricing is always on the higher end CONSISTENTLY along with kono, while dixiemech, novelkeys, cannonkeys, TXkeyboards, and others have had much more fair prices. Stock color sets should not be costing 130-160 per kit before shipping.
I love this theme, would definitely buy all kits. Please include colevrak+ support though.
it'd be cool if there was some sort of design on the space bar, possibly a white version of one of the witchers swords or the 5 main signs (the ones from the game, not the book) lined up
I'd love to see the split spacebars in Purple, Teal, and Light grey.
Could use kingdom crest colors for accents. Temeria, Nilfgaard, etc...
If the Ciri and Yennefer accents are only available in the novelties kit then they deserve some cool icons instead of the standard Enter arrow. Please make ALL 5 signs available in 1u R1.
Change the novelty rune keys to match the spell color
Unlikely to happen but if the signs could be doubleshot with their respective colors in the game (i.e. red symbol for Igni) that would be marvelous.
I’d like to make colour change if you are willing to do something like that for me.
Left shift could be "silver" of some kind, maybe for flourish the sign keys could come in colours.
Corsair K95 with the 18 G keys on the left side, it's an older board. I'm guessing the keys will fit but I'm concerned regardless
I would love this if the modifiers, numbers and maybe punctuation had a different color like the blue Purchasable as an additional kit.
Subtle runic style lettering!
Vim arrows on the HJKL keys
Maybe adding the other witcher classes as novelty options? Or a gold colorway for Geralts eyes?
Smaller right shift, for 65% layout
"Core Kit: It would be nice to slim it down a bit more ~
- no wolf novelty escape
- no sword novelty ansi and iso enters
- no 2m accent arrows
- no 2u shift
- no row 3 1.25u tab
- no 1.5u codes"
I don't know if this is too much to ask for, but can you theme the novelties around in game symbols versus the TV show symbols. Huge fan of the books and Witcher 3, but I though the show was really meh. So having yennefer and geralt's necklace pendants from the games instead of the netfilx promotional symbols would be super cool.
All text mods or all icon mods pls, not both
Can you make the arrow keys and last column closer to the main section so it is more compact?
Does the spacebar kit include 2.25u and 2.75u? I don't know by sight what the smaller included space bar sizes are. Might want to include that info for the relative noobs, ty.
I would love to have a regular ESC keycap in the lighter grey color similar to the arrow keys. Side note, I want the 7V too and was not sure which color to get. This kit definitely is pushing me to get the grey 7V. Thanks!
Normal accent keys in the white grey color (2M I believe) add to the base kit. Novelty (sword/wofl) accent keys removed from base kit and move them to the novelties kit. I understand the idea behind having novelty accent keys in base kit of you but honestly it kinda out of place.
Please include the steel and solver swords somehow in the base kit! Maybe steel on the shift and silver on the enter, or something like that! Oh man that would be so cool.
expanding the novelties set to include more sizes would be cool, i.e some 1.25u, 1.5u, 1.75u, 2u, 2.25u keys to replace the bottom row mods, shift, caps lock, backspace, etc.
1. The magic signs need color, like the Oblivion keycap set the signs need their game color.
2. You probably took your inspiration from the Netflix-series but I would want a steel sword. Maybe the right shift?
3. The look of the keyboard is rather minimalistic, I like it, but I also like the blue. This color is amazing. Why does the Zireael Kit not have swords on the enter key?
4. The F keys: I don't use them as much, but I need them sometimes, maybe you can put Game Icons on them, instead of the boring F1, F2, F3, etc. ( https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Category:The_Witcher_3_images_-_Map_icons )
5. I don't know how possible it is, but an iconic line on the space bar would be so cool. Like ""The world doesn't need a hero, it needs a professional"" - Geralt of Rivia. But I don't know if this is too long of so.
6. If the fount is Morpheus, the Letters would look like Witcher, but I think that would destroy the minimalistic look of it.
7. Maybe a Macro-Kit with the Witcher schools on the keys, but I haven't found good school icons, I may be able to help you design them.
So those are just my ideas, maybe not all of them are improvements, but I would be really into such a kit and I would go out of my way to help you.
Please incluse a "Hmm" novelty as well! Maybe for the backspace?
I think you could also get a few chuckles by adding a "****" and a "Hmm" key. ;)
Is there a way I can sign up to be notified if/when this set goes up for sale? I don't follow these things closely, but would absolutely hate to miss out on this particular set.
Some proposed changes to the novelty kit and a new silver alphas (2M) kit. These are KLE mockups, not full renders. Those will come later.
(Attachment Link)
- Added 2M on N9 Esc
- Added sword on ISO Enter (this will also be on the ISO Enter in the base kit)
- Added 3 text novelties — "Roach" (designed for R3 Caps Lock / Control), "****" (for R1 Backspace), and "Hmm" (for R1 1u, e.g. Esc, F1-13, 1-9, PgUp, Home, etc.)
(Attachment Link)
Feedback welcome.
The text novelties look a little out of place with icon mods. Apart from that they are nice. And I'd like if you also added a 1u Yrden since the 1.25u keys cannot be used on Tsangan layouts. Possibly in R1? That way one could use all five signs in the right column of a 75 and still have an arrow in the bottom row.

I considered this but I won't want to be seen as ripping off GMK Red Samurai's design. More feedback welcome, as usual.

What keyboard do you use those keys on, and why? I would suggest just using the novelties instead, so as not to add more keys to base?
With how you have it currently, one cannot use all five signs on a 65/75 with 1.5-1-1.5-7-1.5 bottom row (which I referred to as Tsangan). If you want to have the Yrden sign in the bottom row, that would be 1u R4, correct. But then that one sign would be separated from the others since exchanging only the right arrow for a sign would look strange. Therefore, having R1 Yrden would allow for five signs in the right column of a 75, while keeping the right arrow. On a 65, it would obviously not work because we are missing the f row. But here, one could use the R1 key if split backspace is used. Was just a suggestion, an 1u R4 key would also be better than only the 1.25u.And I'd like if you also added a 1u Yrden since the 1.25u keys cannot be used on Tsangan layouts. Possibly in R1? Please clarify the rest of your post. 1u tsangan novelty would be R4?
In that sense, those keys are seen much more frequently than 1.5u Supers. Please keep at least one 1.5u Super (also nice that it is going to be Super instead of Code). This key is also useful for WKL layouts with Ctrl on Caps.

Think a lot more could have been done with this. Just looks like a novelty kit for Ashes :/ Makes me sad.

How is it not constructive? It says that other than the novelties, it doesn't really look like a unique set.
If you can add R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn it will be greatly appreciated.
Keeping both Supers, will add those PgDn and PgUp keys for the 65s, and I also changed Lock to Scroll, as per someone’s suggestions. (I never connected “Scroll Lock” with “ancient scrolls” before. 😅)

It's not constructive because they're just stating an opinion without a solution or alternative idea. If they had said, "This doesn't look unique. Maybe if you did X and Y it would stand out more?" Then it would be constructive.

It's not difficult to deduce that "It looks like Ashes" is both an opinion and has an inherent solution in it. Sorry if it's tough for you.
Not sure why this community has such a hard time with criticism.
Looks great!
Please add light color alphas kit for those who prefer more contrast between modifiers etc.
The same light greyish color as those from the spacebar kit.
Considering this if there is enough demand. I did want this GB to be simple and cheap though, especially after Lunar.

Yeah, this is the play.
Calling it GMK Gwynbleidd would be pretty dope too.

I would second this. Totally down for a more contrast-like look. Accent colors are all greatly put together.
Good luck for whats to come next.

Found some time to update the newest proposed changes. These will unfortunately increase the prices of both base + novelty kits slightly, but it shouldn't be a lot.
Changes to core:
- added R3 PgUp
- added R4 PgDn
- 00 removed from numpad
- Lock changed to Scroll
- Enter changed to Return
- Code changed to Super
- all icon mods replaced with text mods

Looks good! Although I don't see a stepped Caps anymore; maybe the 1.75u stepped Control is supposed to be Caps?
- "Hmm", "****", and "Roach" novelties are pretty ridiculous
- Bummer for no Sihill numpad
- Consideration to change row 2 1.5u backspace text from "Delete" to "Backspace" or two-lined "Back Space" as to not have double "Delete"s for those that split backspace and have delete on on their 65%-75% (and even split backspace TKL users)?
- No text "Return" for the numpad?
- You're missing row 1 1u pipe for Sihill
Text mods now? Rip me :/
Anywho...

+1 to these points. I didn't even notice the 1.5u Backspace was “Delete”. I really don't like it when sets do that, for the exact reason you stated. That being said, one-line “Backspace”, please; two lines would break the cohesive appearance of the rest of the text legends.
As for the numpad, “Enter” can be used instead of “Return”, which doesn't fit on 1u wide keycaps. In fact, “Enter” better matches what the numpad Enter key does on systems that differentiate between Return and Enter (*nix and macOS), so it's the appropriate text legend to use.
I personally prefer both legends to match so I went with Return. I think the only software I use thst still differentiates between the two is Photoshop for Mac.Are you sure a numpad Return mold exists? I don't think it would fit on the key, and I don't know any sets that use it.
Does anyone know if QMK differentiates KC_KP_ENTER (Keypad Enter) from KC_ENTER? I assume so but since I don’t have a full keeb with a numpad, I can’t verify.Yes, they are different scancodes as per the USB HID specification. Windows assigns the same VK code to them, however, while *nix and macOS keep them as separate keys.

Re 1: Space Cadet, off the top of my head. I’m sure there must be others.

Reposting all kits, hopefully all fixed this time.
- changed R2 1.5u Delete to Backspace as per request
- changed numpad icon carriage return to Return
- added R1 1u |\ to Sihill
- fixed legend on stepped Caps Lock — label now reads "Caps"
Hmm love the overall aesthetic, would be nice to have icons from the other schools as well, like bear, cat, viper and griffin. And for the signs i feel like it would be more cool and appropriate to have the so call font colours to be the same as the signs colour (Aard-blue, Ignis-Red,Quen-Orange, Yrden-Purple,Axii-Green). But overall just my 2cents, im just glad finally someone made a Witcher theme.
Am I the first person to request a Colemak kit? No? Can we please have one? If not I'll just get the novelties because they're so pretty
I'm in for this whenever it goes live. I just filled out the IC form, and noticed you are thinking of a alt color alpha set, which was my only "request". Other than that, looking forward to it!
I love your designs, but I am afraid that due to custom novelties in base, this doesn't drive up base kit price like lunar. Looks great though!I'm in for this whenever it goes live. I didn’t add the alpha set to the IC form, because it would unrealistically not be updated by all the responders, but you there will be one. See here:

Base should be around 110-120 with a little bit of luck. I don’t foresee it going up to 130.

Hi Moridin, is there any chance you’ll be producing an international kit? I’m new to custom mechanical board world and have my heart set on the base kit and novelties. But I’m in the UK and don’t see an available set of R1 caps for the UK.
That’s correct, is it normal to improvise or would you consider adding these three caps.Hi Moridin, is there any chance you’ll be producing an international kit? Agreed, although most of them are there; it's just 2/" 3/£ and '/@ which are missing; the rest of the ISO layout is there (I think), feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Look at Oblivion. 3000+ base kits and 120 NORDEUK kits sold. Tiny market. It’s a shame but I had to ask. Guess my number row will have to become Witcher signs
The first stage of talks with CD Projekt have concluded. I am now waiting for an assessment from their legal department. Depending on the outcome, we will either proceed, or work on our own visual interpretation of the Witcher Signs, based on the books’ descriptions.
If this is going to be a licensed product, would it not make sense to offer as much compat as possible? Thinking about NorDe specifically, or even Polish (in keeping with the origin of the franchise). This is a very nice colorway, and I think it's a shame to exclude people just because it causes some extra work. Worst case scenario, that particular child kit just doesn't reach MOQ.
the question may be asked before, but when?

Oh snap!
Is that a Lian Li?
i really think that UK iso caps would not make a huge difference to price, and would make quite a few users choose to buy it.
How does the legal assessment proceed? Any news?

Nothing yet. They’re super busy with Cyberpunk so I might have to proceed with my own designs.
Y’all OK with that?

Or just wait and delay the GB date to August if it's necessary? Would personally see the original designs of course

At this point it could be a 6 month wait as far as I have heard...
im just in for the F*** key and they cant take that away from you lol!
Yeah I too would rather wait and have something resemble the books instead of trying to make it look more generic with some vague tie in.
any chance for a r0 & r5 kit?
Pretty sure GMK will not be accepting the **** key. They didn't accept a hemp leaf novelty because it's drug related. They're not gonna accept profanity either.

Since I'm doing renders...
Should I add more Sign novelties to this set? Was considering especially 1.25u and 1.5u R4...
Also, maybe a few more text novelties?
These changes will increase the price of course.

Change 1 of the 1.5u 'Super' keys to be 'Fn', 'Function', 'Meta', or 'Hyper'
or add a 1.5u novelty key please
Can we see what it looks like without the smaller unfilled/uncolored dots in the center of bigger dots? I am thinking it would look nicer if the dots were solid color.

I dig the filled ones, looks a bit cleaner imo :)
Couldn't we have just ran a novelty kit for nines?
2. Redesign the Witcher Signs, so as not to infringe on their intellectual property (IP).
Did you mean to have an extra Tab key in your silver alphas? Or is that just an error?

Ooo, a darker than N9 grey, that sounds perfect :)
Zireael
Zireael — the novelty kit — consists of 10 light grey on dark grey novelties, which are inspired by Geralt's Signs — Aard, Axii, Quen, Igni, and Yrden. I have also added the novelties from the core kit in a reversed colourway — dark greys on light grey keys — and included two coloured sets. The latter consist of two R1 novelty keys each (signifying the ladies' symbols), arrows, and Enter keys. The colours are inspired by Ciri's and Yennefer's eyes. Finally, there are some new text novelties, including R1 1u "Hmm", R1 2u "****", and R3 1.5u "Roach". The regular Enter key should be light grey, not white (render error).Version 3 — "Dots" DesignVersion 4 — "Circle" Design
— Witcher Signs are made using the casters fingers, which the dots/circles are meant to represent.
— The lines connect the dots/circles, suggesting how a specific Sign is cast.
— The dots are also a tribute to mechanical keyboards (PCB holes specifically).
— The dots/circles could are also slightly reminiscent of constellations, hence trying to forge a connection with the stars, and magic in turn.
— The spaces between the dots/circles and lines are also in line with that Sword novelty.
Since I have proposed 2 slightly different designs (I am partial to one of them!), I would love to hear some feedback from you guys. Please take part in this new poll and vote for your favourite design:GMK White Wolf Zireael Novelty Design Poll (https://forms.gle/wuQDMhFRKz9L2vjg6)
I picked dots, but I think you mixed the images, as dots (filled circles) are circles and other way around :))
Well, in this case it doesn't matter as my preferred option won :DSame. I couldn't unsee PCB traces in the open version.

I added two new renders, showing off the set on an e-white 7V, using the same angle as before with the grey 7V, but showing off the Sihill Kit (alt alphas) as well as Ciri's and Yen's novelties.

I really would like to have the light grey numpad keys. Maybe make a separate kit with the 13 keys or so, but a 1800 board wouldn't look good with the accent keys only on the left :/

There will be text mods. The renders was just a colour-swap of one of the first renders to showcase colours + alt alphas. More news coming soon — working behind the scenes to get this GB going ASAP.

Not sure I like that. Keep in mind that the responses you've gotten so far has been with the previous renders in mind. Changing something as fundamental as mods just before going to GB is pretty weird.

Text mods were suggested by the majority early on in the IC phase, and the set was switched over to those back then.
Any way we could work in a second sword on one of the shift/backspace keys thru a novelty kit? I thought for sure the Sihil novelties would have a second 2.25u sword keycap or something, but no luck.
The dichotomy of two swords for two evils (and the ambiguity therein) represents a core theme of the books that I would love to see represented in this set.
(2) GMK Red Samurai has done this already (IIRC)
The problem with having swords on Shift is that you need it in various sizes. And if you only offer 2.25u/2.75u most people would end up with only one sword anyway. Using 2.75u Shift is just wrong (imho) and ISO users would also only have one sword key. Thus, having that one sword on Enter makes more sense, I think.
Of course, you could have a 1.75u sword as well, but on 1.25u you could only fit a dagger at most. And this leads to even more keys and costs.
So what? :P Red Sam had clouds, not swords. And just because a set did a certain kind of accents doesn't mean that other sets can't do something similar. For example, Yugo was the first set to do front-printed space novelties (afaik). Does that mean that other sets can't do the same? No it doesn't.Not sure if it's the first set to do front-printed spacebar novelties, but KA2018 gotcha beat there ;)
Personally, I'd love to see both swords on the Shifts.

Thanks! I figured there had to be some obscure set that I wasn't aware of out there that did it first. Also, what even is this 😂Dude, you ain't about Valentine's Day keysets!? C'mooon lol ;p
P.S. If anyone needs to contact me, please PM me on Discord @ Moridin#9373 — I don't know what I'm doing on the PM system on GH.
So I take it you didn't get licensing for the set, hence the snaking around the logos by putting dots on various points?
Not impressed.

That's a pretty dumb take. Read the thread. He tried, CDPR told him that they can't get back to him for MANY months, potentially 2021 from what I remember. This was the alternative that we, as a group, and Moridin mutually decided on. Showing up to **** on this thread while contributing nothing is unimpressive.

Wait until you see what we’ve come up with.Have you come up with the data?
All the novelties will be unique and free from IP infringement. I tried, I gave it a few months of my time, but they’re obviously “all hands on deck” with Cyberpunk.
“Purchasing a license” isn’t as simple as you make it out to be. I know the path, they know the path, it includes contracts and months of legal work, which they can’t devote their time to at the moment. 2021 Q2 is the earliest they were willing to start discussing all the details. That would put this set’s production into 2022.

I’m confused now. The novelties you’re going to GB with aren’t the ones currently pictured?
So what you're saying is that you didn't want to wait to have an actual licensed set produced, and instead modified/infringed on IP in order to run your set sooner....
This is just getting funnier and funnier as it goes.
Honestly, I don't care what you've "come up with", all this proves is that this hobby is spiraling downwards.
Maybe put the months of contracts and legal work and communication into an actual approved set instead of just pulling **** like this.
It is deplorable, and should have no place in this community.

No, that’s not what I’m saying.
I mean, the first Indiana Jones movie was released in 1981. I love Indy, like many others. I grew up watching The Last Crusade late Saturday night. But the idea that an Indy set is "overdue" is just not...a thing, IMO. It's not. By your reason there are infinity permutations of meta-art that are "overdue." Where are our GoT, Metal Gear Solid or Teletubbies sets?
I think we've all learned an important lesson here, which is that IP infringement is only acceptable if it involves an anime character.
I would just like to add two things, with no disrespect to any party involved, but just as a clarification to my earlier post:
- I have already had an unbiased EU-based copyright lawyer sign off on the design, after analysing our final kits.
- There is no way to realistically get written permission from a large studio, confirming a design does not infringe on their copyrights (I had unofficial verbal confirmation from them, but this is obviously not admissible).
Cheers everyone and have a wonderful day! 🍻
Due to the growth of the hobby there have been a large spike in projects and ideas being proposed to us. We can't possibly do research on our own and make sure each and every set is original and free from infringements, and have at times struggled with this in the past. Therefore, we are adding a clause to our contracts with the vendors in which we define that it is the vendor's responsibility to check for IP/Copyright violations, and in case of legal action from studios/IP holders that the vendor and designer will be solely responsible for all liabilities and financial damages. After these contracts are in place this should help mitigate this issue from happening down the line. This sounds NUTS...
With this being said, we have already mentioned to the appropriate parties that we are happy to move forward with this project as soon as an official license has been granted by the studio or we have written evidence by the studio that confirms that the current design doesn't infringe their IP and they are waiving any legal action.
We never want to see a project not happen are hope to see this come to fruition as soon as possible!
If you do have direct questions regarding this please don't hesitate to reach out to me and I'll try to answer them as prompty as I can!
Is it possible to just run the set without novelties, and run the novelties add-on kit after the written-permission is granted? What is the purpose of running the set without the novelties, which makes basically the whole 'Witcher' theme? Does not make any sense.

It feels like OP actually got screwed by doing any work towards the copyright. It seems like its better off not mentioning it all so GMK can say they never had the conversation, vs putting the cards on the table and letting GMK make the call, which they dont want to do. It is quite obvious they dont really care (100s of other sets with way worse infringement). Dont ask dont tell with GMK

We don't live under rocks, many of us are Witcher fans even ;D
We are just very aware of copyright and trademark laws, and always do our due dilligance, for our protection, and the protection of our vendors.
I'm happy to sit down for a game of Gwent and disucss ways to creatively produce a set that would clearly give a nod to the Witcher universe without potentially crossing any lines :thumb:
As I mentioned before, if we have written permission from CDPR, obviously we will greenlight anything they have approved of as well. This has happened before in the community, notably with some Star Wars themed sets (and permission from Disney).

If they even got a greenlight from a copyright lawyer then I don't understand the refusal to run it?
Unless the designer lied about that but I wouldn't expect that tbh...
Unfortunately copyright law is more about which party has the deepest pockets than anything. If you get on the radar of a large IP holder, then you're going to burn a lot of cash just getting to a point where your copyright lawyer can make their case. With so many 'inspired by' and 'homage' sets, it is interesting that this particular set triggered GMK.
What exactly is copy righted in the set? That wolf symbol? (it doesn't look like the one I see on all the Witcher stuff, but i guess there could be more then one wolf symbol Witcher uses) The sword symbol? Those triangle and hourglass symbols?
Someone explain what exactly is in that set that is copy righted?
I'm just going to assume it's the wolf symbol, becasue that's about the only thing that makes even a little sense, just pick a different cool wolf symbol. There's like a billion out there. (The one Cloud uses is way better for instance.)
I like the color and that is why I will buy this set if it comes out. Frankly, I don't like the sword art keys like the Enter key in the base set. I would like it more if we had accent keys in a different color (perhaps the same color as the letters) in the base set instead of the "art" keys.
surely theres going to be a game of thrones related artisan!
