dang, bunny is making me want to pick up a realforce with all the support ctrlalt and bro (plus all the other artisans) put towards topre stuff.

the 55g tkl is really calling my name but the budget isn't giving me any room  :(
Step 1. Sell all worldly possessions
Step 2. ? ? ? ?
Step 3. Buy 55 topre and live a peaceful life.
strongly considering this

unfortunately, i didn't pick up the sliders with my order so i wouldn't be getting the sweet extra anyway.
Bunny confirmed that the sliders will be sold a little later at a cheaper price. So it's all good on that front.

Or someone might sell their slider set...

true, but i don't think he mentioned anything about including the topre spacebars with those. it is still very tempting though

I already have my end game board though, my Phantom with an ANSI layout but 7-bit bottom row (it took lots of dremeling but I made it work). :) I don't think I will be getting that from a Realforce anytime soon unfortunately. Every other keyboard I have/get is just extra, but I love having nice extras.

Normally I would agree(as I have gone through many keyboards looking for the one), but outside of not having a complete key cap set(which is in production right now) I can't find a flaw in it, it just fits me so well. Not saying I'm not going to get another board and to be honest it probably will be a realforce tkl when I do, but I know it (probably) won't be a replacement for my daily driver.

Hey, bunny. I was wondering, how difficult/cost effective would it be to produce topre compatibility spacebars  for some of the past popular keysets? Would producing a few colour matched of some older keysets be too much?

So say, someone wanted get a spacebar that matches older but popular sets, such as Hyperfuse, Miami, ect...

I was planning on trying to dye one of Matt3o's PBT space bars (... I bought a few) to match HyperFuse, but a nice thick colour matched option would be AMAZING. And we all know Bunny wants a HyperFuse HHKB :D

I'd rather wait and see if Bunny makes a color matched topre spacebar for the Hyperfuse set than dye one.

Also, I think Matt3o's spacebars aren't cherry profile so the angle will be off.

Really awesome news on the spacebars.  Thanks Bunnylake.

Question on the sliders, to install them will it just be a matter of snapping them onto the stem?  (like installing a keycap)

Or do we need to remove the slider from our Topre board and install the new one?  I think this is how the Novatouch mod works -- haven't tried it yet.

hope that made sense.  i'm wondering because i don't see a way to remove the slider on my hhkb w/o taking it apart.  haven't looked on my realforce yet.

edit: i'm also kind of confused on the difference between a slider and a stem.  they're the same thing, right?

You have to take the board apart to change the sliders. No other way to do it.

And taking apart an HHKB is super easy as long as you are careful when removing the PCB, those ****ing springs and rubber caps are a PITA. But swapping sliders is easy, just popout with the back of s screwdriver and pop back in and done

Getting the case of my HHKB to close properly and not bulge on one side or another was a *****... Maybe that's not the case for everybody though...

It was like that for me as well, but between my HHKB, RF87, Dolch case, and cherry cases, I like to think of myself an expert at those ridges and grooves

yeah it couldnt be easier, all you need is a small philips head screwdriver and you can completely strip those boards down, id be shocked if anyone had any issues at all transferring out the sliders

that being said, having opened them up a lot, i have come up with a couple of tricks when just changing over sliders without having to interfere with the springs and domes

sometime before this buy drops ill strip one apart and take a few picks of some simple tricks i have to make the process as stressless as possible

Disagree, strongly.... Some of us hate bottoming out and the Alps/Matias folks might as well be anti-thorpie in terms of mech feel. I had an extended trial of someone's Leopold FC660 topre and I couldnt stand how far I had the press the key down.

Disagree, strongly.... Some of us hate bottoming out and the Alps/Matias folks might as well be anti-thorpie in terms of mech feel. I had an extended trial of someone's Leopold FC660 topre and I couldnt stand how far I had the press the key down.

I hated Topre until I tried out the HHKB.  Only Topre I like.  Also, I love Alps, dislike Matias Alps.

Regretfully I must back out of this buy.. One of my tires has a gash in the wall so its really unsafe to drive.. I am getting new tires tomorrow but in order to cover some of the costs I need to sell some keyboard stuff...

My order consists of one purple & white set w/ sliders, one purple on white mod set, one white on black set, and an extra pair of purple space bars. The order has shipping to the CONUS.

I am selling this at cost ($167) via paypal. PM if you are interested. Thanks guys and girls.

Order is sold to UsualSuspectXXX!  :thumb: Thanks!

Kind of regret not adding the sliders to my order at this point. I know there will possibly be some for sell later on but if anyone wants to part with theirs let me know please.  :-\

quick update

things are coming on well, a few slight delays as we decided to fix (well improve) 4 keys in the set, including some work on the shifts and windows keys, its added a little time to production, but the end result is worth it

ill have some new pics for people soon

and for anyone who missed out, we will have some limited extras available

we will also have large numbers of a set in a totally different colorway, these werent put up for gb, but will be an in stock item on the ctrl alt store with no lead time

i have also added to the order 200 complete sets of topre sliders and 500 windowed keycaps in various colours to match the sets, these will be available in the store and will ship to us with this gb, i will list just before they arrive, so anyone who wants to add on to an existing order in this buy can do so without having to pay another postage cost
