hey guys, probably not the right place to put this but it does affect ctrl alt
as some of you may know me and my wife were having a baby
he was finally born yesterday after being 2 weeks overdue
there were some serious complications during labour and there were times where it looked like i may lose both my child and my wife
they are both fine but the babies heart stopped several times, and as a result they had to take some pretty extreme measures to get him out in hurry, because of this, my wife lost a very large amount of blood and it wasnt looking great for a little while there
he was born at 9.14 am on the 21st of october (back to the future day) and his name is mason
because of what was mentioned above and several other complications that happened, my wifes and therefor my stay in hospital is going to be a fair bit longer than expected, whilst we resolve some issues and both her and mason can get there strength back
the result of this is i wont be around at all for probably the next 2-3 days, and then will be on for very limited time for about a week after that whilst i am getting my family back to normal
i appreciate everyones patience for any delays in any projects i am involved in, and im very sorry for any inconvenience this causes anyone
thank you
bunny
-
You shouldn't even be there man, get back with your family, keyboard nerds can wait.
Good Luck.
-
Family >>>>>>>>> caps n ****.
Focus on getting the new munchkin and the wife better. Hell, take a full mental health vacation from this place and, if you feel like you have to keep people in the loop, send cody or someone else emails, text, PMs, whatever for updates and let them deal with the issues in the interim.
Bestof luck and well wishes for the health of everyone. I've seen how rough times like this can be and you don't need any added stress.
-
Best of luck with everything bunny. You have given a lot to the community, so please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
-
yeah i had no intention of actually making a post but i needed to get some more stuff picked up form the house quickly for my wife whilst we have a family member looking after her for a bit and noticed i had a ton of emails and stuff i cant possibly reply to right now, so just a little update whilst i have internet access
thanks for the understanding and kind words, and ill be back when i can to annoy people with baby pictures
-
Good luck man, and congrats, willing some strength for everyone. Look after your family and yourself too.
-
Wishing you guys all the best, sir. Please take care and don't worry about keycaps for as long as you need to. People can wait ;).
-
Best of wishes Bunz.
Care for your kin.

Get the FVCK out of here.
Family ALWAYS comes first, and everyone here on GH is praying for your bub and Mrs to pull through.
YES we would all love to see Bunny Junior here on GH soon, just take care and look after the TWO MOST important people in the world right now.
-
Praying for a quick recovery for everyone and hope it's smooth sailing going forward.
-
Congratulations on the baby Bunny. Mason is a great name!
I'm sure the doctors will make everything right as quick as possible. Take your time and take care of your wife and baby. It is a very emotional time and new babies are always full of surprises. :)
-
Gratz, and I hope everything works out for the best!
-
Jesus that sounds intense. Wishing you all a speedy recovery.
Congratulations on becoming a father!
-
I hope you will consider changing his name to Marty? :D
Hope everything gets better after a rocky start. Good luck to bunny, little bunny and miss bunny!
-
there were some serious complications during labour and there were times where it looked like i may lose both my child and my wife
Wow I can't even imagine that level of fear.
Take all the time you need + a bit more :thumb:
CONGRATS!!
-
What an ordeal... You shouldn't add GH stress on top of that, man! Go spend time with Mrs and Mason, Internet can wait!!!
-
scary hours, here's to a speedy recovery for your wife and son
-
Congrats! Glad your wife and child is okay now!
-
I wish you and your family all the best Bunny, and congratulations my friend!
-
Welcome to the world, Mason. Thankfully everyone is ok :)
-
I was wondering about baby Bunny! From what I've seen in my short time here, you are a pillar of the community and someone who constantly gives; now you've been given the greatest gift of all. You don't owe anything to anyone but your family right now <3 go be with them.
Congratulations to you and your wife, on fatherhood, and all good things to come.
-
Not quite how you'd have planned it but sounds like the worst has passed, congrats on the new arrival :)
See you whenever life becomes the new normal, hopefully sooner rather than later (for your family's sake not ours. We can wait!)
-
Duuudeeee baby and wife always come first. Now you go hug and kiss the **** out of them. Come back when you so please dammit. Our keyboard addictions can wait. I'm happy they are both okay!
-
Bro...
I ****in love you.. praying for swift and complete recoveries
-
goodness, I'm glad everything turned out ok! I hope your wife has a speedy recovery.
Congratulations on the new baby Bunny :D
-
This is like the Geekhack version of the royal baby! Can't wait for you to "annoy us" with baby pics.
My 3-month old daughter came out with breathing issues and they had a NICU team in there for what felt like a half an hour, later they told me it was less than five minutes. It's scary stuff when the baby doesn't come out crying. But 3 months in, both mom and baby are doing great.
Congrats, man.
-
Congratulations and good luck!! I also hope for a quick recovery. Btw great choice on the name
-
Congrats Bunny! Take all the time you need, family first. Best of luck :thumb:
-
Congrats dude! cant wait to see photos. Hit me up if you need anything :thumb:
-
This is like the Geekhack version of the royal baby! Can't wait for you to "annoy us" with baby pics.
Only this Baby isn't a royal bludge on the British Taxpayer, that's the distinction you have to make clear here.
He is someone that is highly valued and needed at this time and I'm sure he shall brighten Geekhack when we all see him.
-
Hope for a quick recovery to you and your family.
Quite a roller coaster you've been on.
-
Congrats on your back to the future baby.
Family > nerds
-
Family first Bunny. Prayers out to Mrs. Bunny for a speedy recovery.
and ...
Hi Mason! Welcome to the world!
-
Congrats for baby Mason :)
And yes, wishing the wifey a speedy recovery as well.
-
Ahhh Mason already has 2 of the coolest uncle's in the world uncle Bro and uncle Punk !!!! I'm really glad you and your family pulled through Bunny ! CONGRATS DAD
Also I felt a great change in the force new beginings for some and hopefully the end of others (hopefully a few GBs I'm part of... :))....)
-
I'm happy everything went okay in the end. :) Make sure you get your family healthy and in order before coming back for us. ;)
-
Congratulations on becoming a father Bunny!
I am sorry to hear about the complications, but am happy to hear that things are looking better. Take your time with your family, and ignore geekhack. The next few weeks will be very time consuming for you and your family.
-
Godspeed Bunz and Fam!!!
-
Well I was a little worried having not heard anything and so I've already been sending prayers your way. Will continue to do so, I'm just so glad that the wife and baby Mason are doing well. We all love you Bunny! Please take all the time you and your family need.
We had a similar scare with our third (several weeks early, thought we had lost him several times). He's four now and is such a smart, funny, incredible little guy.
-
Bunny, congratulations. I am super glad that everything did not have a turn for the worse. Take your time getting things back to normal. We are all impatient for thing sometimes, but thanks for sharing. It helps put things in perspective. Take a break and we will see you soon!
-
Best of wishes to you and your family Bunny. I hope all of you get well and get to go home soon.
-
Congrats Bunny, so glad things ended up fine :thumb:
Hope we get to see some photos of Mason with a bunch of stuffed rabbits :)
-
Congratulations BunnyLake and Mrs BunnyLake, and welcome to the world, Mason! :)
Absolutely the best wishes for a speedy recovery for everyone, but it sounds like you are in good hands.
Take as long as you like, sir, family always comes first, especially in situations like this.
Little bits of plastic pale into insignificance compared to the miracle of life, no matter how fragile it is.
-
Glad to hear that despite the complications, your family is now +1. Congratulations to the both of you.
-
Welcome to the wonderful world Mason!
-
Ecstatic to hear all is good! Sounds like you went through hell. Wishing you, your wife and Mason the best!
-
Hey Bunny! My prayers go out to you and your family.
Please focus on your family. Keyboards and keycaps can wait.
-
Congratulations Bunny :thumb:
Wishing all the best for you, your wife, and Mason
-
You know I'm here if you need anything. Congratulations and I'll keep your family in my prayers.
-
I'm so happy to hear that it went well in end. Moments like these show you what's really important in life. Best wishes to you, your wife and Mason
-
Glad your wife and child is okay! I wish you and your family all the best Bunny :thumb:
-
Congrats and hope everything turns out alright for you guys!
-
Best of luck and hope for a quick and complete recover.
I know it seemed scary and horrible at points, but congratulations on getting through it and now having your son!
-
Whew! Scary reading that for a moment.
Congrats!
-
Congratulations on the whole becoming-a-father-deal!
I wish for your family to have a speedy recovery. I don't think I can imagine the situation
you had to deal with there. I'm glad everything turned out OK.
And I agree, Mason is a cool name!
As someone else pointed out, take a time-out with your family somewhere not HOSPITAL - whenever you get the chance!
-
Congrats bunny and hope everything is all right
-
Wow, what a terrifying ordeal that must have been. Really glad everyone made it out safely, take a well-deserved break Bunny! :thumb:
-
Congrats bud!!

-
Glad to hear that mama and baby made it through. Will be thinking of you all, and hoping for full recoveries. Don't even think about coming back here until both are well.
Congratulations on your little bunny!
-
Congrats and hang in there!
-
I hope all will be well with your wife and new kid :)
-
Congrats, best wishes and a speedy recovery to you all.
-
Wow, thanks for the update. Even if it's none of our business, I think a lot of us wanted to know how everything went.
I really hope the best to your wife and son, (of course to you too) and wish that the whole Bunny family gets to go home and in good health soon.
Right now you have bigger things to take care of than anything you could be doing here on GH or CtrlAlt. So please take all the time you need getting your family home and settled in. This is an important time in your lives and you want to be sure to take in all in and not get distracted by us or anything else.
Mason is a great name too!
For now just give your wife all the support you can. Also don't forget to rest, because when the Bunny family gets to go home you'll need it.
-
Congrats! Wishing you and your family the best :)
-
grats on the baby boy! glad everything went well even though things came up.
rest up, you're going to need it.
-
Congrats and best of luck! I hope everyone is going to be OK.
-
Congratulations!
Wishing you and your family the best recovery!
-
Man I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Wishing your wife and little one a speedy recovery. Your responsibilities are firmly plated with your family, so take all the time you need and don't worry about us.
You guys will be in our hearts and minds. We are an ocean away, but if you need anything that I can help with just say the word.
-
Congratulations! Wishing your wife and baby a speedy recovery!
-
Most importantly, congratulations!
-
Congrats, Bunny !
Family first! I wish everything is going well.
All the best. :thumb:
-
Congrats on the family! Hope everyone recovers well.
-
Oh man, congrats bunny! Sending good vibes for you and your newly expanded family. :thumb:

Sincere congratulations, Bunny. I'm glad that everything turned out, and I'm sorry for the scare. I wish Mason and your wife a swift recovery and the best of health.

Best of luck bunny! Nice to see everything went good in the end ;) Hope you learn to enjoy all the small breaks to sleep ;) you won't get many in the comming months :p
-
congrats and best wishes!
-
Congratulations! Sorry to hear about all the complications but glad everyone going to be ok.
-
Congrats on the new baby! Hope everything turns out well for family. My wife had a rough delivery with our first child. When something like this happens, everything in life takes a backseat to the health and well-being of your family. Be with your family...that is what's important.
-

Welcome to Geekhack!
An interesting thread to make a first post ...
I'm not someone who posts too often, if at all, but I thought this thread was worth breaking the silence.
-
Congrats Bunny! Spend some time with your new family member, we'll hold down the fort
-
I'm glad everything worked out okay, and congrats on the new addition to the family... can we call him "BunnyPond"?
-
Almost ready to go home is definitely good news!
Don't expect to get much sleep though ;)
-
Started reading like, "Yay! They had the baby!" then, "OH MY GOD! That's terrible!" then, "Ah. Well. It all worked out."
It's great to see everything is going well and you're headed home soon.
Maybe this extra strenuous birth will offset other things. For instance, maybe he won't be a public screamer, or won't cry all night.
Congratulations to you and the Mrs.!
-
I missed this till now, but I am sorry you all went though so much. I'm also very relieved and happy mom and baby seem to be bouncing back so well. Adding my prayers too.
-
Almost ready to go home is definitely good news!
Don't expect to get much sleep though ;)
Haha. Give him a week to realize this on his own before you drop that bomb on him.
-
Congratulations Bunny! I don't think I remembered the first month after because it was a blur, I hope you do! :))
-
Wow, I had no clue you were in the middle of something like this and even still you had replied to an email I sent extremely quickly.
That is amazing and in a sense it makes me feel kind of sad (and a bit guilty)=/. If it was me I would have dropped off the face of the planet (as far as the internet were concerned anyways).
Anyways congrats
-
Great news on coming home soon. First thing I remember with my daughter after we got her home and everyone left was: " What do we do now?"
Only bit of advice is keep a camera/phone camera on hand because you never know what they will do. ;D
-
everyone is doing great and we are about to get settled back home shortly, with a little help from some family members

Great news :thumb: .
Don't go overboard with posting all your personal life on the web otherwise it could end up like another "Everlasting Episode" from UnREAL.
Certain things are best kept private, due to all the "Creepos" that now inhabit this virtual world, which quite frankly isn't safe nor comforting. The best pics and videos you keep for yourself to share with your loved ones but for us strangers we don't deserve that type of trust because we are just that, complete strangers.
Glad everything went well, now comes the real hard part - being a full-time daddy and of course your wife's most perfect husband 8) .
-
Congrats Bunny! Hope everything goes well for Mason & Mrs. Bunny! Nothing in this world is more important than your family, take care!
-
****, i haven't been around the past while due to actually working but i can't believe you even took the time to leave this post.
Really sucks that so many complications came up but i'm very happy to hear they both pulled through it!!!!
Welcome to the world mason!!!!! i'm sure you'll be way more awesome than your dad =P
-

Good luck with everything and hope you can get some time to rest!

-
What a lovely day for Mason to get his first glimpse of the world outside - dull with drizzle! Glad to hear everyone's well enough to go home though, lets hope he learns the art of sleeping now he has his own room which doesn't smell of disinfectant :)
-
Glad to hear the family's home now. Forget about your PMs for a bit and take the time to nap whenever you can :) You've probably been running at 400% this past week so you definitely need some time to yourself.
We'll be ready for your return when you are.

Side note, your son was born on me and my wife's 9 year wedding anniversary.

That is great to hear. So happy for you guys.
Mason's job is to sleep, eat and grow. Mommy's job is to take care of Mason, and daddy's job is to take care of mommy.
You will learn the art of napping ANYWHERE. :) Just hang in there, you will get your head above water in a week or two, don't rush it and enjoy it.

It is difficult adjusting to having a child because just when you thought you had everything covered, the child changes.
