[IC] LightSaver V2 Round 2
« on: Sun, 01 March 2015, 11:46:38 »
There will be a delay in producing these... I don't think Lightsaver V2 will be next in production after Orion V2. Maybe next year...they have other plans in mind.  Sorry for the bad news. :(

This gb will probably start in the summer after orion's gb.  Long way to go!

AFAIK there is no longer an assembly option.
We need to sell 30 units.
I will find out about lone PCB/Plates/Cases, for now assume full kits only.
Forgive me if anything is wrong, prices subject to change.
I'll be keeping this OP up to date.
[around my busy work schedule]

That little yellow block.
It hides a key space.
They should be available in silver and black.

Those are acrylic inserts.
I might have a spare set for viper, PM me.
Also I'll ask about getting them made for the next round.

I passed on the TX1800 so I could buy this. Count me in!

According to the image in this post I can use a 1.75X right shift + 1X key instead of the standard right shift. Am I correct? If so this is going to look pretty sweet with those purple hangul keycaps I ordered from kin  :p

You will need a soldering iron and some quality solder. Everything is pre-soldered excluding the switches.  :thumb:

Yes. I am running the IC. Elton and Duck/TrueCustom will be running the actual GB.
Though I hope to become a name you can trust here on GH.

Taylor is trustworthy enough to handle an IC :)

I'm in, but I need more photos of the Black LS and the Silver LS... I know there are a lot more owners out there that haven't posted photos in the LS Photo thread yet.

Would be awesome if you guys can post the Black LS with Classic Beige (BoW) caps!

I'm interested but firstly before I get counted in, any changes in this round to the previous? Also, can I use like ansi 125 or ansi 150 with standard bottom row on it otherwise I'll just block the awkward start key.

EDIT: I answered my own questions by looking at the links. Im an idiot. I'd say I am interested.

EDIT2: New question: can I get like a 1.25u blocker in like grey. I think black or silver would look kinda weird if I got a grey keyboard...

The blockers are designed for people who want to have WKL layouts which generally use 1.5u mods, so I think the blockers would only be available in 1u and not 1.25u

Does anyone know if this layout is possible?  That's 1.5-1-1.5-6-1.5-1.5-1-1 on the bottom row.  I doubt it but I thought I'd ask.

92532-0

EDIT: Actually, I think I figured it out.  The closest I could get would be a 1.25-1.25-1.25-6.25-1.5-1.5-1-1 on the bottom row.  It's a bit Frankenstein but it would be cool.

Looks like it could?

It matches up on where the 6u space would sit on stabs.

Well it's my birthday today, so I'll say this is my birthday present :p

In for one, likely in Silver, with blockers.

ik this is probably just me being pedantic, but do you guys consider layouts like the Lightsaver and TX1800 to be 'full size' as such?

I don't.  If you compare the size of a standard TKL to the size of the lightsaver, you will find that the LS is shorter than the TKL by 0.5x because there's no space between the F row and the Num row, and you will find that the LS is only wider than the TKL by 0.5x because the 4x numpad replaces a 0.5x space and the 3x nav group.  That's definitely not fullsize in my book.  Definitely larger than a 75% but closest to the size of a TKL.

Does anyone know if this layout is possible?  That's 1.5-1-1.5-6-1.5-1.5-1-1 on the bottom row.  I doubt it but I thought I'd ask.

EDIT: Actually, I think I figured it out.  The closest I could get would be a 1.25-1.25-1.25-6.25-1.5-1.5-1-1 on the bottom row.  It's a bit Frankenstein but it would be cool.

I can't say for sure if the LS can do it, but the RedScarfIII PCB will fit the lightsaver case, and is capable of that. https://geekhack.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=67398.0;attach=86559;image

Are the blockers $3.50 a piece, or do they come in a set of some quantity?

Yeah the price should be each.

These are just the colors copy pasted from the LSv2 round 1 thread. Blue-grey was offered on the octagon and therefore it's likely that another round of LS would have the option, not certain though.

Awesome, I'm in for about 6 of them then.

Any word on whether this buy can have notched plates for easier removal of the switch tops?
