Title: First Time Mechanical Keyboard Builder. Need help
Post by: JackOnCrack on Fri, 22 May 2020, 00:20:52
I have assembled a list of parts for this keyboard and would appreciate some input on if the parts are compatible, decent price, and quality:
Layout- 60% Compact, standard bottom row

Pcb - DZ60 with cherry stabilizers, LED, and USB c port (I'm on a wait list for the product)
https://kbdfans.com/collections/60/products/dz60rgb-ansi-mechanical-keyboard-pcb

Switches - Cherry MX Browns

Case - 60% low profile aluminum silver

Mounting plate - DZ60 CNC Aluminum 2.25U left shift
https://kbdfans.com/collections/plate/products/dz60-cnc-aluminum-plate?variant=2208864436237

Key caps - NPKC Free Kingdom Keycap Set PBT OEM profile (Does the OEM profile mean that i need to have OEM stabilizers instead of cherries?)

This is my first build and upgrade from my ****ty full size $20 keyboard. The folks over at r/mechanicalkeyboards have not been too helpful for questions like these with their hard to navigate wiki. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks?

you could source your switches from novelkeys which is cheaper https://novelkeys.xyz/collections/switches/products/cherry-switches?variant=28058371850333

a lot of people here are gonna tell you to consider another switch but that's up to you

the only thing you're missing are stabilizers which can be found at novelkeys as well

everything's compatible
