We are very excited that the R1 Space65 has been very well received.
Since keyboard was sent out, we have received a lot of positive feedback, which prompted us to further improve the keyboard and make a sequel.
At the same time, I would like to express my sincere apology and gratitude for early buyers, as the anodization is good but not perfect.
We are trying to improve the process and we appreciate your understanding.

Motivation for the Sequel: Cyberpunk
The word ‘Cyber’ comes from the cybernetics theory and sciences.
In 1948, Robert Wiener coined this word to define the control theory, with a focus on how animals and machinery control and communicate each other, including the synergy of human brain and machines.
Therefore, Cyberpunk typically comes with a touch of sci-fi feel in the popular culture.
I got to know the Cyberpunk culture from the the science fiction True Names by Vernor Vinge.
The book depicted a future world wherein individuals use virtual identities to control real world resources and fight each other.
After this novel, I got to know more hardcore Cyberpunk works, such as Neuromancer(The best cyberpunk science fiction in my heart), Bladerunner, the Matrix, etc.
The Cyberpunk pop culture also influenced my designs, as it is a unique type of visual effects.
Typically, a cool-toned background comes with a high contrast and high situation warm subject, which creates a strong contract effect and leaves people ample room to imagine.

Coming back to the Sequel to Space65: CyberVoyager

I have always regretted that Space65 V1 was not perfect enough, and therefore I want to create something based on V1, but sufficiently different so that it is a refreshing design.

Therefore, What I did was to modify some external design as well as structural (internal) design.

More specifically, in the upper left corner where the light stripe was, I added a replaceable badge to make the design smoother. And I kept the left-side light stripe.

In the back of the board, I designed a weight that comprise two parts seamlessly combines to create an effect that I am very pleased with.

In the upper right corner, I designed a brass badge, which I will use a special surface patina treatment.

For the plate, I will continue to use carbon fiber as the material (there are some good videos on Youtube), and people have been happy with the typing feel and sound.
In addition, I plan to add a vibration reduction pad in between the PCB and the plate to further enhance the typing experience.

And under the PCB, I also plan to include a noise reduction pad, even though there is really no issue of echoing with the R1 Space65.
We will also be upgrading the accessories, such as the silicon pad under the board and a custom made screwdriver.
In terms of pricing, I can say that they will be a bit more expensive (but not by a lot) than the R1 Space65, given many factories were shut down now, and also the cost to produce this will be much higher given upgraded materials and the weight, etc.
And most importantly, if you joined R1 Space65, Think6.5 or a prior GrayStudio Group Buy, and would like to buy CyberVoyager, we will offer a return-customer discount.
We have perfected the anodization process, and this time the anodization will be in line or better than Think6.5 quality anodization (many people have praised the quality of Think6.5).

Two minor complaints regarding the design:
1) Screws covered by feet. This is essentially an anti-feature, and is one of the very few complaints I have regarding this board. Two of the feet appear to have been adjusted from R1 to uncover screws, but there are still two covered.
2) Plate mounting. The plate still appears to only mount on three sides, which caused issues with rattle for some people. I personally had no issues as I only used the side mounts with a CF plate, but perhaps this could be something that could be improved.
I should also note that the lack of ESD protection on R1's PCB led to quite a few complaints of RGB LEDs burning out after shorts, which is a shame considering how integral to the design the lighting is.

The previous GB did not have enough experience.
For this time, we have made sufficient preparations to avoid previous accidents.
The price of Cybervoyager is a little expensive than R1, because there are some more CNC parts.
About noise reduction pad, we do get a lot of good feedback about the Space65`s sound,but adding this part is also to be able to better.
The plate is that the three sides are fixed and the top is cushioned.
I think it's a good enough design and the reason why the sound effect of space65 is good.
We will do some tests in a few days. Please look forward to it.

Demo has re optimized the circuit, added protection capacitor and replaced the new LED supplier. We will also give away some components for each keyboard.

What I'm expecting now is the end of March or the beginning of April. The production cycle is about 3-4 months.

But the yield rate of copper positioning plate is too low (the structure of space65 requires that the thickness of the positioning plate is very accurate, too thin or too thick will cause too much resonance), so it has not been completed up to now.
I thought about refund before, but because of the replacement of the computer, there is no previous information.
In a few days, I will update a Google form. I recycle all the copper parts in question and complete the full refund.

The R1 board was an amazing deal at $225, I hope this can keep up the same standard.

Offering it is a great idea, I know a lot of people ordered MKUltra foam for their boards so having the option out of the box is nice. I'm just curious if it's possible to assemble the board properly without it ;)

You where not able (or willing?) to create plates or refund in more than half a year. I would be very careful in buying anything from them. Good at taking your money, but very bad with support when shipping faulty products.
Case is nice, but if something goes wrong, you are on your own.
We are actively dealing with the after-sales problems of space65 and think6.5.
But the yield rate of copper positioning plate is too low (the structure of space65 requires that the thickness of the positioning plate is very accurate, too thin or too thick will cause too much resonance), so it has not been completed up to now.
I thought about refund before, but because of the replacement of the computer, there is no previous information.
In a few days, I will update a Google form. I recycle all the copper parts in question and complete the full refund.
This now sounds like more of the same. “actively” ? Lets see if your word now is worth something.
Wish you all good luck with the GB. You will need it if something does not work.

The new PCB prototype will be delivered to me tomorrow.
Thanks to Demos for adding ESD protection , as well as capacitance for LED protection, and updating the new LED scheme.

Just realized that there is no more carved line on the top of the case? That's a bit sad if its the official render. I liked the V1's carved lines. Gives it more character.:(
Because I want to pursue more changes and highlight the feeling of cyberpunk on Space65：Ceybervoyager.
So with these designs, I think a more concise front will highlight the delicacy of the badge.

This is one of the few boards that uses asymmetry as part of its unique design. I get that these things are a "to each his own" type of thing. But if that's what keeps you out of buying a board, that's a really crappy reason. Someone put a lot of time and effort into designing a board, and you're down on the board because they want people to know who made it, or what it's called? Do you not buy cereal/milk/water/etc. if the brand is on the front of the packaging either?

airpotter what is going on with the top right screw in that place is it a design choice to be not the same as left top screw? And like round 1 the pads cover the top screws, I know not a lot will re-open the case when built but be nice to have pad's or screws in spots that allow to be re-opened or at-least maybe link size of pads to buy to replace them. Round 2 is looking great otherwise :thumb:.Just trim the pads to allow access to the screws? Really easy to do with a hole punch.

My bad, I must have missed that bit. Thanks! Hoping to get a PCB with ESD protection for my R1.
If the R2 plates are also backwards-compatible, I think I'll definitely be getting another one, too.

Yes. I think Potter confused it with having the two strips being individually controllable. That's not the case. Great, so an e-mail was sent out with a coupon for a $10 discount to 90+ people that took part in the Space65 GB, but it did not use CC, rather it used the the "To" field so everybody could see everybody's e-mail address. Then somebody sent a reply to all asking where to "put in the promo code"... Great use of private data!

I'm in for GMK Firefly, Coral & SA Godspeed (Genespeed*gray* & Mitospeed*purple*) & Drop Laser ALT High-Pro...more than likely to join a good handful of other GB's this year
I already have and E-White Polaris, GMK Vaporwave & Mitolet, SA Laser. Main PC case, mouse and keyboard are white.
As you can see I kind of have a theme (laser-ish) and feel like the ROBOCOP CV would generally fit better with these keysets I have/will have BUT I'm leaning more towards the OCEAN CyberVoyger just because the dark bule-ish render looks very pleasing to me...I'm just a little scared that the final production blue isn't as dark and won't flow with keysets I have in mind (or future ones I have my wallet ready on in IC on here) I've been a huge fan of the OG Space65 and super sad I wasn't part of the community at the time...I've been looking at r/mk post to get a general idea of the Space65 blue builds and guess that they will use same factory and such resulting in the same blue for CV but unsure and don't like that lighter blue of the OG S65. Any sample of the blue CyberVoyager?
TLDR: Main desk theme (Case fans & desktop peripherals) is Laser at the moment, main bedroom/desk color is dark/light gray. Torn between OCEAN & ROBOCOP CV, Leaning more towards Ocean because it looks deep navy/blue that I like, unsure if same factory/process as Space65 (don't like that blue)
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! <3

I know the latest GB just ended and I know that It will take time for the eventual next GB but from all custom cases I like the Space65 by far the most.

Hey, I don't know if I'm in the right spot to ask but will there be a next Space65?Graystudio is doing Think6.5 r2 right now in IC. If Space65 r3 happens, it won't be until mid-2021 at minimum. They are going to sell extras after everything ships in the next couple of months, so you can keep an eye out. Extras will sell out super fast and be $100 more than GB price.
I know the latest GB just ended and I know that It will take time for the eventual next GB but from all custom cases I like the Space65 by far the most.
Maybe somenone can tell me something about that. I'm absolutely new to the keyboard scene and I don't know everything yet :)
Edit: Just realized that this was the IC thread and not the GB thread... maybe it should be locked :P

Same. I have a KBD67 PC on the way, eyeing the Constellation, but the Space65 is a 65% that I'd just die to have.

Maybe you can get in on extras:
Extras are expected roughly a month after GB fulfilment (October).
There is currently no set date.
Boards are expected to be priced at $399.00.
