Group Buy Information
Group buy slots will be allocated based on the results of a raffle. There will be two separate 10 minute entry windows to account for different time zones; one in the morning (Eastern), and one in the evening (Eastern).
The link to the raffle form will be posted in the first post of the GB thread just a few minutes prior to opening and will close immediately after the 10 minutes have lapsed; the same process will repeat for the evening window.

Layout and Color Choices:
There will be a hard limit of 35 units available in this raffle. You will be able to choose from Red, Dark Gray, Black, or Silver anodizing colors. You will also be required to choose the plate that is included with the kit (full aluminum in silver/red OR a half-plate in frosted polycarbonate). You will be able to purchase a second plate (choosing from the same options) as an extra. There is only one top piece available -- there is no WKL or HHKB available in this group buy.
Entry Process:
Everyone will be permitted to enter in the raffle once -- please choose one entry window. Due to the potential for multiple entries, I will be going through them with a focus on weeding them out. Discovery will result in disqualification from this and future zekk.works group buys.
Your desired configuration (color, plate choice, etc.) will be determined from the choices you make in the entry form, so please make your choices carefully.
During entry, please use the email you use most for communications.
Raffle Results:
The 35 raffle winners will be chosen on the morning (Eastern US time) of July 5, 2020 and winners will be notified shortly after. Notification of winning the raffle will come in the form of an email from support@zekk.works as well as an invoice from my Shopify storefront. Notification of not securing a spot in this GB will be sent from support@zekk.works.
Completion of the raffle will also be noted in the Geekhack group buy thread.
Order Changes and Payment:
You will have 48 hours from the time of invoice receipt to make appropriate changes and pay for your slot. If, after 48 hours, an invoice remains unpaid, the slot will be re-raffled and allocated to a new winner*. This new winner will have the full 48 hours to make any changes and pay for their slot. Should there be a second instance of non-payment, the slot will not be re-raffled but held by me to sell after GB units have been fulfilled.
As a very serious reminder, PayPal will not be accepted as a valid form of payment.

Next up I'll be sending money off to the manufacturer to begin production. I'm expecting a 3-4 month turn around for this group buy -- that being said, COVID-19 is still a thing and we never know what will happen between now and October.
Going forward here's my commitment to you:
- Updates* every two weeks (I'm going to shoot for every other weekend) after manufacturing has been confirmed.
- Even if there's nothing really to say, I'll say something.

- All manufacturing, finishing, and anodizing is complete.
- All parts have shipped from China via DHL to me in New York. Due to the Mid-Autumn Festival in China, the packages will be on hold with DHL until workers return after the holiday. I expect to see some movement by mid to late next week.
- PCBs, Daughterboards, and JST cables will be sent to me within the next week or two. Bump-ons and o-rings are on-hand. McMaster-Carr fastening hardware will be ordered shortly.
- My store will be opened two weeks from today with only two listings: Domestic/USA shipping and international shipping. I'll be sending an email to all participants to remind you all to pay for shipping. More details on this process in two weeks.

Hey all, this past Saturday all group buy participants were invited via email to login to my store and pay for their board's shipping cost. Most payments have already been made, so thank you for that! If you have not yet paid, no worries, but please pay as soon as possible -- I'd like to have all payments accounted for before 23:59:59 Eastern on October 25th (roughly one week from now).

So, the process for quality checking is well underway. I'm making really good progress and the boards themselves have been (knock on wood) really clean. In fact, I have not encountered a unit during my QC adventure thus far that would not meet my A-stock criteria. I expect to both start fulfillment this week (Tuesday/Wednesday right through Saturday) and finish next week.
My quality checking guidelines are pretty simple, and I believe the usage of a top-over-bottom/seamless design contributes to a more streamlined QCing process. That said, here are my criteria:
A-stock:
- No external marks/scuffs (the top/bottom/side of the "top/outside" piece should be clear of marks)
- Smooth/consistent anodization
- Assembles as expected (I am unscrewing each board, screwing in a daughterboard, and replacing the factory supplied screws)
B-stock:
- External marks/scuffs (found on top/bottom/side of "top/outside" piece)
- Inconsistent anodization

Full disclosure:
1) There was a mistake in the communication where color of plates were described. Unfortunately the Silver plates were anodized in the Dark Grey color, affecting 13 GB participants. All affected participants have been contacted and all have accepted the Dark Grey plate in place of the Silver plate.
2) A lot of Dark Grey units have anodization splotches around the screw holes on the inside of the "top/outside" piece. These marks do not affect assembly/overall functionality and are completely invisible on full assembly. These marks will not contribute to a B-stock rating.

Thanks for bearing with me during this group buy. Unfortunately we were not fortunate enough to get out of this without some kind of issue. Luckily the participants in this group buy were understanding and supportive, so I'm confident we can get through the rest of this smoothly and without any more significant* delays. GB participants can expect to see labels generated this week.
* I say significant because I do work full time outside of keyboards so between 8AM and 4PM on most days I might not be able to put much time into QC/packing. Again, thank you for understanding.

As of this post, Ogre is 100% shipped. Everyone should have received an email notification regarding their tracking information. Please keep in mind it IS Election week so there may be slight delays to your shipments (let's hope not though!).
As folks have started receiving their keyboards, I've taken note of a slightly higher than expected PCB fail rate (likely due to bad/dead diodes). All participants should have received an email regarding this, so please make sure you read that and get back to me if you've had any problems.
Right now I'm focused on making sure defective PCBs are replaced, so extras will wait until that's resolved. Thanks for bearing with me.
