The Yugo — a small, unassuming hatchback, regarded by many as one of the worst road vehicles of all time. ^{(and with good reason)} Yet, it holds a special place in the hearts of all of those who grew up somewhere in the former Yugoslavia.

GMK Yugo is the first community project by YugoMK, a young, growing community of mech keyboard enthusiasts from the Balkans / ex-Yugoslavia. And that's what it truly is, a community project. This means that we, the designers, will be taking no profits from the sales of the set, which in turn means lower prices for everyone. It also means that we've designed the set exactly how we would want it — by the community, for the community.

Taking inspiration from the Yugo GV Sport (GV stands for “good value” lol), a special “sport” edition Yugo that was marketed in the US in the 80's, we've decided to go with a nice, sun-faded yellow as the base color for the whole set. The crimson, orange and brown accents were taken from the GV Sport's signature stripe.

Has anyone had experience with Kono before? I'm a bit hesitant to make a purchase with them. GMK Shark Bait went live the first of the month yet it is still not available on Kono yet. I'm curious if the same issue will apply to GMK Yugo as well. If there is issues with just going live for ordering then I am a bit nervous about whether or not their fulfillment will be a long process.

Has anyone had experience with Kono before? I'm a bit hesitant to make a purchase with them. GMK Shark Bait went live the first of the month yet it is still not available on Kono yet. I'm curious if the same issue will apply to GMK Yugo as well. If there is issues with just going live for ordering then I am a bit nervous about whether or not their fulfillment will be a long process.

I got nines from them on time with no issues. I got troubled minds from them with two of one F row cap and missing another (seems like SA's problem, not theirs, they're not opening and counting all the bags). They coordinated the replacement with good speed and no extra expense on my part.

Their mistakes with symbiosis (didn't order enough kits) and shark bait (literally unresponsive for an opening weekend) are troubling.

There's a right answer here, which is cash off for the folks who don't get their symbiosis kits on time, and increased shark bait extras to pump up the numbers. "Sorry" takes 5 letters to press and doesn't mean much. I'm curious as to their responses.

Yes, unfortunately those are the numbers, we didn't expect it to be THIS low - but there's still hope.

I/we speculate that a reason could be the long GB Date, where people have a thought in their back of their heads like 'It's running well into December, I can just grab it later' - which is likely hurting sales. There's still a lot of GB time left, still more than a month which a normal GB runs for - and we all know how crucial the last week can be (just look at firefly - from looking dead in the water to a huge spike meaning it made it). Worth noting is that it's a record breaking month for amount of GMK sets being ran, and past few months have had heavy hitters which have left multiple peoples wallets empty.

The numbers are low now despite huge interest during the IC, so I don't think it's at risk yet. I believe!

This is a phenomenal theme and colorway. Since Terra cancelled the Katakana set, this is my last remaining "must buy" this year. I'm buying all sets except spacebars, but have to wait until December for the monies. My guess is others are taking advantage of the long GB time as well and this will have a big finish!

No, personally I feel like you either have to get base space and zastava to perfectly reflect the theme, which will cost ~USD220, or you buy a base with forever regret.  So I have to decide not to buy.  Also I have OCD for accent spacebar.  This would be an insta buy for me if you insert two red spacebars into the base, though I know this is not happening to most sets.  Anyways, nice set and gl with gb!

That's the beauty of it all! Up until you, everyone told me they only want the base and that it is enough for them, that they might buy other kits just to show support but only plan on using base.

This is why kits exist, we all view it in our own personal way!

Less than 50 base kits, but this is now entering the final stretch. We got until 16th of December to make a difference. Gmk bubble has burst for sure, this is now a struggle for survival after having literally every set made for the past half a year+.

I'm still hoping it'll go through. I was one of the first when it went live. It's an awesome colorway and concept. Maybe ppl thought because the first renders had non-latins in them that there wasn't a full Latin alpha set?

If this fails, count me in for some other version/iteration of it.

Well, I've selected almost everything except artisan (not a fan of the whole artisan thing, and it doesn't affect the set itself) and numpad kit. I've even selected and paid for the keyboard to display this specific keyset. And it'll be such a disappointment.
