Wadda ya buyin? Wadda ya sellin? Surprised GH doesn't have an investments thread yet, so here we go.
Recently I started a second portfolio just to mess around with in all the spare time. Highly volatile tech/entertainment/and weed stuff mostly, but some puts in EFTs as well. This Robinhood app makes it pretty simple to day trade and watch tickers, way better than Pokemon Go!
But anyway, what are you doing to secure your financial future? What looks good lately? I love buying in a recession because it's like a Steam Sale for money ;)

Well, some of those old artisans were pretty solid investments... so long as you are inclined to sell at some point and not let them sit in a closet forgotten. Or how cheap old IBM boards used to be vs now, that's a pretty healthy return I guess.
Topre and Cherry (ON) are actually trading pretty closely.

These companies do not really contain intangible assets above their market cap.. They're also old, so they have no incentive for business decisions which could swing their stock price.
Unless you're privy to some inside secs-scandal, there isn't any rational strategy you can implement.

Buying gold and silver, no etfs and no bonds. I just like to feel my investments lol

Gold yes, Silver.. a little risky.

Took an absolute bath on Netflix this week as shares dropped nearly $75
In fact most of my holdings are down this week. I suck at this.

Be very truthful to yourself as to the potential situation here, portraying the difference between -investing- and -gambling-
Unlike on TV, there's no Monk to Rainman you out of debt.

You are a complete fool if you think for a single second you will ever be able to retire or even have a decent financial cushion without investing in the market, property, bonds, etc. Look at it however you want, but the truth remains: every single wealthy person on the planet who wasn't either born into wealth or got very lucky made their money in investing of some sort. It is how the world works, plain and simple. Don't do it. I don't give a ****. But you'll never get more stable without taking any risk. Ever.
