First international kit. Few minor issues to solve, but looks pretty nice overall

How much is one of those keys? I mean are they really so cheap that it's reasonable to have so many keys that are essentially the same?

Like the 8 with "([" and the 8 with only "(". or the 3 different versions of the "<>" keys. Can't we just take the one with max. legends? Who would complain if there was a tertiary legend that isn't available in a certain language?

It actually looks cooler with a tertiary legend ;)

The kit will go around $30, removing most of the third legends we could probably go around $20.

I suggested to remove similar keys but the general opinion is: if we ought to do it international we ought to do it international all the way!

So here it is, your full no-compromise international kit. Later I'll post the intl-2 kit

Second batch, there are quite a few things to fix but it's good enough to start the GB

I agree. Go hard or go home.

In this case, the costs are low enough where we should get this group buy set to include many people.

Similar to the commando 23 gb. I felt like that GB was very inclusive.

This GB has the potential to be so much more.
It's a very unique key set.

In the international kit, the letters with accents above them, such as Ñ, should be vertically aligned so they’re on the same baseline as the standard N key, rather than precisely vertically centered.

I know this is a bit late to suggest, but would it be possible to throw in a 1.75 blue enter into the "text pro" kit? I'd really love this for my JD40. I just realized that I won't be able to get a blue enter on it any other way.
Hope this isn't too late! And thanks again for all the amazing work you've put into this project, Matt. This is such an awesome DSA set!

pfiu! I spend Sunday morning setting up all the templates... The legends thickness/positioning are not final yet but the number/type of keys are. This is the last chance to fix errors in number and size of keys while we will have more time to fix the legends (wrong positioning/size/thickness/etc).

Please review them carefully and report any error.

imgur gallery: http://imgur.com/a/jfo2E

Again legend style needs some review, but we can start the GB if the number and size of keys are correct! I'll take care of small glitches during the GB.

From the link below you can download the whole set in PNG+SVG format. Play with them, mix and match the keys to compose your preferred layout and post the result here. It's a great way to spot errors!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/fj4origyvtikqzb/PBT-Granite.zip

This is a very time consuming task for me, I'm doing it for free, but if you are interested in the set please help me spotting stupid errors.

Thanks!

PS: first error spotted (and corrected) in the windowed set

This may have been answered but, is there going to be any grey 6.25x or 7x space bars?

I only see the white colored space bars.

Wow!

While I wouldn't personally want one for this set, I thought many other people would.

I wouldn't mind the option of having that kind of space bar.

Does anyone else have any interest in the grey space bar?

Here is my layout:

I modified the Ç so that there is a space under the C and then recentered the C (without ,) in the middle:

Now: Before:

Also, is there someone that is willing to part his international set 2 and sell me that key: , it would be appreciated :).

what's the story of the ç ? Usually I prefer to keep pieces together to avoid bad sublimation bleeding.

IDK, just thought it looked better that way since, in reality, there is a space. But I prefer to avoid bad sublimation :)

how much is the single spacebar anyway?
and how much will it be to add a grey spacebar into current spacebar kit thus making it to be 2 spacebars.

one spacebar goes for $4.50 at 25 tier. Two of different colors might be a tad more than double I guess.

I don't want to raise the price if the majority of people joining this GB aren't willing to pay for it for the grey space bar.

Like I said, I'm not really looking for the grey space bar for this set but would like to still have it in case I want a different look.

Many of the recent GBs have had the extra colored space bars.

I have a poker 2 and I'm really new to this so I don't know what to call the keys by size number.  But, is there any way we can have a Capslock size Fn key and a Win size Capslock Key?  I was planning on getting the symbols set.  I use the toggles on the bottom of the keyboard to change the button functions.

Perfect, I don't want illuminated legends and I don't really like it when the LEDs shine through the PBT caps.  Just something to provide a little bit of light in the darkness so I know where my keyboard is.

Much Excite! (but hoping they could be found for less $$$).
Profile looks to be "OEM".

Are these caps for Cherry MX switches? And are they regular caps  or for backlit?
They are keycaps for Cherry MX switches and the legends (writing) on them are not clear for backlit keyboards, so your experience with how much light comes through may be not impressive.

^ good tastes!

I am!

Yellow, mainly, but orange to round it out otherwise it would look silly having one black lettered key on the bottom row.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I got the quote, but I asked for few changes to reduce price.

The blue enter in the mod kits turned out to be too expensive and I prefer to remove it and place it in a kit of its own.

initially the blue enter key was included inside the mod kits with their respective legends.
but as what matt says, having the blue enter jacks up the price of the mod kits and probably not everyone wants blue enter, hence it was separated out.

Right. I'm aware that there will be a separate kit for blue 2.25u enter keys, but I'm asking about blue 1.75u enter keys for 40% keyboards such as the JD40. It doesn't matter if these go in the blue enter kit, or the text pro kit, but I'd really love to be able to get a 1.75u blue enter for my JD40.

Is there any other keyboard that requires that special size for the enter key? If not, maybe the best option will be to put it in a separate set, as the ISO enter, or the blue enter, to allow the interested parties to buy it.

JD40 is the only keyboard I know of, but most 40% designs I've seen also include 1.75 enters, so you may see it more in future keyboards. Since it is quite uncommon, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it in the ISO kit (or just on its own). I'd just really love to see it included.

I hope Matt find a cost-wise way to allow this option to get into this GB. It seems that it already has plenty of special options that are rarely included in other sets. I'd like to see a 4.5u space bar, but I am afraid there is no mold available in DSA profile, so I just live with what I already have on hand.

Ahh—do you own JIS MX boards that you'd be putting this set on?

This is a very time consuming task for me, I'm doing it for free, but if you are interested in the set please help me spotting stupid errors.

Thanks!

PS: first error spotted (and corrected) in the windowed set

Is the GB still set to start this week?

matt says he wants to start, ideally, on monday if everything goes accordingly, including SP site and legends is perfected.
it's already 2:36PM Monday afternoon for me :( sucks to be ahead of time...

GB will ideally start today, I'm waiting for SP to fix few glitches on the website.

Re 1.75u Enter is too much of a niche key to be included in multiple variants. Also please note that I will probably place it in the Lost+Found kit.

This set is gonna look so pimpin' on my Poker.
Even more so on a Viper/Eagle, if that groupbuy ever happens.

This might be the set to have.
If today had been a hippo, then you'd really have to worry about tomorrow.

I think that about every other set and then the next GB opens :p
