So regardless of what my manu told me, a miscommunication internally, andddddd they polished all the weights!
I will still offer buyers to choose between polished or sandblasted, which most of you have been notified through email a week ago. Please email me at singa.keyboards@gmail.com should you want to change to sandblasted.

Thanks guys, I was able to finally get it to work on Internet Explorer of all things. Chrome, FF and Edge wouldn't take it for some odd reason, a few others in chat channels said they had the same but most appeared to work. So if anyone else has a similar issue, try all your web browsers! :thumb:

Keep in mind if it is compatible you are going to lose the FN indicators at the top of the board on the case.

Nevertheless if you only offer the polished to the addition order i think thats not a wise decision.
Because what the point of FCFS if the late order got the privilege to get the polished one. I think it should be open to everyone who join.

With that said, it should be an add-on option to the existing buyers of R2. Instead of having to place another Singa order. This would be rewarding to the 55 who did join in the GB.

This is getting complicated, so best to just move on from it.
Polishing not only is time-consuming, but the OP did say that the weights would be sandblasted. I saw that the polished weights were in the prototype album, but made sure to ask catweewee about it. Let's just carry on and move ahead with sandblasted.
Gonna be honest... since all of the photos show the weights as polished, I always assumed that's how they were going to be delivered. A bit disappointed.

That's right. The weight finishes that I have chosen are sandblasted and coated to prevent corrosiveness. It would defeat the purpose of this matte look.
Also, the 2 weights that were mistakenly polish went through an extensive and hard procedure. It would be difficult to replicate without the right tools

No real insight into how they're going out. catweewee mentioned in the mechkeys discord that they would start shipping this past Monday.
A few others and I have received tracking and mine (at least) should arrive at my apartment tomorrow. You will receive an email from Aramex when it has been picked up in Malaysia. Also if you are located in the United States, I'd highly recommend signing up for UPS My Choice as that was the only way I found out the package from Aramex had been handed off to UPS.

That is a real pro-tip there, and fortunately have been enrolled with it for a while and it's saved my ass when packages show up early or unanticipated and sketchy weather or don't want to leave it out for porch thieves!

The Tangerines pre-modification are actually pretty nice! The springs are a bit iffy and I noticed some (not all) pinging a bit in a similar fashion to Zeal springs. Of course this is easily remedied by using different springs, and what other build is more appropriate for catweewee springs than a catweewee board!
Post-modification, with the thick 205g0, gives the switch a really satisfying buttery feeling and combined with the thock from the polycarbonate, it amounts to a really satisfying experience. I had been advised prior to lubing to only do the stem in a thin layer as it will naturally distribute through contact where you'd want the lube to go and I did not put anything on the springs.
All in all it was great to get back into the groove of building. 10/10 would build again.

You just use this to flash it (with windows anyway): https://github.com/robertgzr/bootloadHID/blob/master/commandline/bootloadHID.exe
To get into bootloader mode or w/e just hold esc while you plug the keyboard in.

But first the PR needs to get approved/merged.

Any instructions on converting to QMK?just finished building my Polycarb Singa - anyone know how its programmed?Bootmapper client.
In other news, I just finished porting my Singa to QMK and submitted my PR. It should be in the repo and configuration in a few days :D
I setup all the normal layout I could think of as well as one that SHOULD have all the keys available for like split spacebar and iso and other weird things people do. Once it's completed I'll post a link.

Once my code is merged it should be available in the configurator at: https://config.qmk.fm/#/singa/LAYOUT_wkl
You just use this to flash it (with windows anyway): https://github.com/robertgzr/bootloadHID/blob/master/commandline/bootloadHID.exe
To get into bootloader mode or w/e just hold esc while you plug the keyboard in.
The repo itself will be: https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/tree/master/keyboards/singa
But first the PR needs to get approved/merged.
Legend. Both canoe and singa to QMK in just a few days!!

If you are trying to do iso or split spacebar right now you just have to use the default keymap which has ALL the different slots open. I'm not actually sure how to setup iso in the configurator ux, but I can add other layouts if there is anything people care about. I tried to get all the obvious ones, but I just have WKL so I only have one option and was pretty much guessing.
If anyone has any issues let me know.
To use the bootloaderHID thing you just run a command like this (in windows):
.\bootloadHID.exe -r .\singa_amnesia0287.hex

Ok - all done and ISO works out of the box - just pretend it’s ansi enter. The additional ISO keys for # and \ worked as well

A new email went out with an update. Sounds like polishing and anodizing is taking a while and shipping will likely be in July. PCBs are in their way to yuktsi for QC.I like right angles. I'm hyped.

The factory apparently ignore what was ordered, so all of the weights ended up polished instead of blasted. If you prefer the blasted look, you need to reply to the email and let her know and they will remake the parts.

Yup! All pcbs are tested personally by Yuktsi and Me before shipping. Simple plug and play. No flashing needed.
Just download the winkeyless bootmapper and youre good to go.

I only ever used bootloadhid.exe and not hidbootflash. I assume you still have to get it into boot loader mode tho. Hold esc while you plug the board in (if I remember right).

Hello! I have two questions as this would be my first high end custom. If I were to use Bsun housings, would I be able to use the hotswappable feet (built in holtites, I guess?) with the PCB or would I need to remove them and solder? And could I use either screw in or plate mounted stabs?
This is such a wonderful looking board and I can't wait to see it in person. Hoping this is my 75% endgame!
BSun switches always need to be soldered in. They just have little Holtites that get soldered in so you can pull the switches out after soldering.

Hello, if you are using screw in stabs please put a washer before screwing in.
Also, pcb mounted stabs only.

Hey, as I said in my email, the minute scratches are inevitable due to the kind of surface it is. The way it is polished, it will have hairline scratches regardless, I am not sure with polishing it with a varnish because it is chemically polished it will probably remove or change the look of it.

I received a polycarb singa a little while ago but I'm only getting around to building it now. I'm not too sure I know how to go about soldering on the rgb underglow pieces. I thought I remember seeing a guide on the singa website but I can't seem to find it anymore. Can anyone walk me through it so I don't screw it up? Or if there's a guide I can reference?

Ah, yea I understand what all the parts are. I'm just new to soldering smd parts. Like I assume they're similar to in-switch leds in the sense that they need to be oriented a specific way, but I'm not sure which way.
One of the corners on the SMD LED is notched. Each LED spot on the PCB has a square solder mask also with a marked corner. These corners should match when orienting the LED.

I recommend taking a tiny bit of solder and tin one of the 4 led pads. Then, get your tweezers, hold the led in place, heat up the tinned pad so it grabs the led and it should hold the led in place. Now solder the other 3 pads and then add a touch more to the first pad. It's pretty easy once you get a feel for it.
each led should take about a minute to get in place and test.

Does anyone have a stock json/hex file (what does bootmapper use? there are options to load both) for Singa? I tried to add a key after not using bootmapper for ~18 months and wiped my entire layout.
