quietkeys don't use alps switches.....if they did, they wouldn't be quiet.

QuietKey is rubber dome...

(As opposed to the Alps-equipped AT101W.)

Some rubber-dome keyboards disguise themselves in keyswitch-like contraptions to fool people.

This thread made me look up the Dell AT101W, looks like a nice Alps. Then I found this auction, thought I'd post it since $16 shipped seems like a good price-

the thing i dislike about dell alps keyboards is that their spacebars invariably feel like crap for some reason.  like they have less travel than the other keys, and they're dampened so they don't feel as crisp.  makes it difficult for me to get into a nice typing rhythm.

Hmm, I can't say that's the case for my AT102W. The spacebar does sound light but the travel and feeling seems much the same. If you're used to a loud gunshot spacebar like the model M I can see how it would put you off, but I rather like it.

Then again the 102W is the UK version so if you're commenting on the 101W (US version) then maybe the spacebar is different.
Owned: Raptor-Gaming K1 (linear MX)(Broken), IBM Model M UK, Dell AT102W, Left-handed keyboard with Type 1 Simplified Alps.
