Sent a message to you with pic yesterday.  I like the vintage cherry function row in orange.

Would also help with legend costs.

Less novelty, more classic reproduction :)

I would like to suggest that the emails that you're sending to be a bit more colorful... Just would make me want to be a bit of more of a customer. Granted, you know how much money that I have... heh.

SP wont make those because it is a copyright infringement.  It appears QWERkeys doesn't mind taking that risk and is making them.

I don't see it for sale on their site, but you can reach out in the QWERkey vendor forum.

In the meantime check out some keys at techkeys.us and sign up for updates :)

Seen them somewhere before, but they didn't strike me as particularly easy to get hold of.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The Mario and Luigi are simply an M and an L in a circle.  It may still be in a grey area of intellectual property, but its not a trademarked logo as far as I know.

I would like to see another group buy of center stemmed stepped caps lock keys. White on black, black on black, translucent lettering on black (hell yeah!) etc.etc. I am willing to help out in part, or in full, with the capitol required to make it happen. I would also be more than willing to pre-order if that scenario works better.

Any chance of getting a 7, 8, 9, 0 set of those Vegas keys? I don't know if 0 would have a "0" or nothing on it and I don't really care. Would just love to be able to all the number keys. I don't think I would be happy with just 1-6 while leaving 7-0 looking so bland.

The patterns could be like that of double 9 dominoes but with that really sweet white on clear red.

P.S. I posted this in the Feb. Geek Hack key thread and it was suggested I repost it here if I actually wanted you to see it.

An alpha+symbol keys set in the style of January would also be cool. I just like how raw they look.

I'd like to see glow in the dark inside clear.
Additionally/separately if possible tint the clear to match, so it's stealth unless lit up by a black light / UV led.

I like the idea, but the contrast would be poor (like the GH Jan keys) and the entire 1st shot would glow, not just the legend, so it would be hard to distinguish what is the legend and what is the remainder of the first shot.

Posted this in another thread, but classic/vintage/arcade/video game keys seem like an easy idea.  There are Pac-Man keys in "ZOMG Imsto Dyesub Group Buy" but that leaves Donkey Kong, Galaga, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Tempest, Asteroids, Frogger, Dig Dug, Joust, Qbert, Centipede etc.

Seems like there would be lots of simple graphics to use since the technology restricted game elements to small simple abstract things.

Boilermaker, I want you to make me a set of Retro Sci-Fi keycaps, based upon this set:

http://talent.adweek.com/gallery/Space-Ray-Gun-Vector-Set-Free-Download/4524187

It's free, and mostly rayguns, which is fine. I would be willing to put a row of alien-obliterating raygun keycaps in place of Function keys.

Here's part of the collection:

Do it, please. :)

Unsure if it could be double-shot (perhaps too fine lines) but perhaps dyesub?

Edit: the one on the far right is the one I want made most of all. Tilt it clockwise a bit, to give it a jaunty look.

Edit 2: Maybe give it a G and H to either side, and pair with a key that says, "DIE ALIEN DIE" stacked.

Those are cool!

Definitely too much detail for a double shot, but could work as a dyesub.  Drawback to dyesubs is they are pretty expensive.

If you want to start an interest check I would be happy to run a GB if the interest is there.

New IC thread pending approval. I threw all twelve rayguns onto keycap vectors to see how they might look. I picture an atomic rendering (with orbits), a robot head, pinup pose, bubble space helmet, bug-eyed alien, etc.

I know its probably not possible but it would be awesome if when adding something to your cart on techkeys it reserved that item for say 15 minutes while you waited to checkout. I know some places do this but I don't know what costs are involved on the software/programming/pos system etc.

Couple things I'd like to see personally:

1. The Poker 'suite' modifiers in black and red with white legends. The current silver set doesn't do it for me.

2. What about selling keycap sets for Poker and Pure? Blank white and blank black PBT should be popular... just sell a poker set and a 'pure mod' that includes the tiny shift key and an extra 1x1 as a $2 add on. If you can sell blank whites (60% poker layout) and beat the current deal Signature plastics has ($37 for 87 PBT keys), I'd be on it.

Us 60% owners dont need those extra keys and we don't like paying for them either :D

Can we, maybe, order one from the web site?

Here's an idea for two keys:

A 'grue' key: Just a black key, doubleshot, with two eyes and perhaps a bit of a smile. You should all know what a grue is, if not, for shame.

And, of course, a 'Z' for 'Zork':

57841-2

UV printing for the stone-masonry 'Z' or maybe use the more simple, but more stylized 'Z'?

Man - those were great but they were a major pain to ship.  I ended up using a giant bubble mailer, but there were so many issues of them either being crammed into mailboxes and damaged or people damaging them when cutting the bubble mailer open.

By the time I add in all the extra cost for shipping with postage rates what they are, I don't think they would be a good value.

I know I personally wouldn't mind paying for the extra shipping/postage.

There isn't anywhere close to me that I can find to print/laminate for me.  Fedex bought Kinkos.

No luck with tube mailers?

Mine is fairly stiff - it would need to be a reasonably large tube mailer, which might push the price up a bit.

Plus you'd have to hope it would unfurl once unpackaged.

How about one of those thin and wide boxes? I got my switches shipped that way, seems perfect for something like this.

you can make a high quality print and lamination at most FedEx/Kinkos... I think this is a good idea for a boxed set, but on its own it's a drain of resources unless the cost is drastically inflated.
60% keyboards, 100% of the time.
