one thing you'll notice from that link is that his caps are not cast as a single piece. this is just one of the reasons he's able to capture such fine detail in his pieces. of course, it also makes production that much more labor intensive, but that's the tradeoff...
i see.... no wonder.....
i was pondering myself how he managed to sand and polish those irregular sides or shapes into fine smooth surfaces....
but i think the artistic aesthetics would worth the price, no doubt!
they are also plated with an extremely hard, exotic silver zinc (+mg?) alloy. a _lot_ of metallurgical and geometric thought gets put into every keycap design and every keycap. yes, they are expensive, but having vended a batch and examined many in excruciating detail, i believe they are the finest keycaps that have ever been made, bar none.
asura, i think, will be able to give girldc a run for his money, and i suspect the competition will cause both of them to step up their game quite soon, but CYG and i turned heaven and earth upside down to get that first batch of girldc's caps to the US for a reason
