Looks interesting! I'd personally prefer separated arrow keys, i think it looks cleaner

Best of luck!

This looks interesting. TBH I'm probably not in simply because I don't need the arrow keys, but I still want to follow this project closely and see how the bent steel turns out. Good luck, it looks like an incredible concept and keyboard

Looks like this might be my first Alice-like! Very good looking.
I’d just wish it had the extra B at the right cause with my first split I discovered I’m a right-B kind of typist.

This is still a consideration! Will likely be polled in the near future.  ;)

Just when I thought I had missed my shot with every Alice-like in recent times, this comes along to brighten my day.

Personally wish the extra B on the right side. That function key spot is perfect, sad to not see it here.

Additionally, the this one might be hard but.. any way we can line up the middle bolts with the crevice splitting the board in the middle? that offset is killing me, even though I can see it's just keeping the symmetry with the bolts themselves.

Definitely will be keeping an eye out for this one!

(Any goals as far as timelines go for this board?)

Short term timeline for the board is to run an interest check form within the next few days, as suggestions for improvement come in. (right side B will be part of the poll for sure)
We aim to have the prototypes ordered within the next 2 weeks.

That's the best part about bent steel. The price.

I'd love a unique mounting style tho. Really what's missing from the Alice line honestly.

Been keeping an eye out for Alice style boards with arrows so this may be a pickup depending on the pricepoint.

I'd be in for exactly this layout (plate looks like it's already supporting split backspace), strongly against a second B. I also don't think separated arrows would look better for this particular keyboard.

I'd also love to see the arrow keys separated. Any chance of plates made of materials other than steel? A plastic/FR-4 plate would help the sound profile (which is the one downside of steel) without a considerable increase in price.

Very interesting

I've learned away from 65% because if the cluster being moved to the right hand side which cuts into my mouse space. I've often wondered what this layout would like like with the arrows and three keys on the left hand side haha

have bin looking for a new 65%. all my boards are now 65% hahah.. Also like the bent steel approach don't know how the sound will be.
But the price would probably make this a good board to give a good try..
Personally this would be a toss up between this board and the one shown on KBDfans.. here is a pic .
only thing that isn't right about that is that the fn key needs to be swapped with the n key..
Also on that board i would add a key next to the Control key to close that gap a bit between the arrow cluster and the main part..
And i would put two larger keys in the middle to function as the space and all the rest of the keys on the side of that..
To sum up little changes i would love to see in a split 65%...
Good luck with it .. will be keeping a close watch..

The top mount and 5 degree angle has got me interested in this board. Hopefully, it won't be too expensive. If it is, I won't buy it.  ;)

I've been waiting for an affordable board to try out the Alice layout; looks like this might be it.

+1 for countersunk screws
+1 for extra B
Indifferent on the isolated arrow cluster

Also, please consider splitting the left side space bar to add a 1u key on the inside

GB will be unlimited.

It is 2mm steel and weighs approximately 1.8 kilograms unbuilt. So would say that it's untrue.

Stunning looking board! The rectangular shape of the board and the spacious top really drives it home! Though I think it would be better if you can somehow not have the screws on the top, so it would look a lot cleaner. Also, such an open, spacious looking keyboard would really be nice to have logos/design/external weights! Layout wise, I agree with the separated arrow keys. I am windows key user, but I think the WKL here makes more sense. BTW, will it support split backspace?

Filled the form.

Having owned an SKB I'm also voting for foam to put in between the pcb and plate, and would like to see the option to have the FR4 plate as a primary plate or have the option to use it instead of the steel plate. One of the main reasons I sold my SKB was that even with foam almost everywhere, I simply couldn't make it feel nice with the steel plate.

Edit; some more explanation on that part.
Steel is, imo, very rigid and unforgiving. Both in feel and sound and imho only suitable for tactile switches. FR4 plate as an option is nice but increases the price. Having the option to choose FR4 for a premium without needing to buy the steel will still increase the price but won’t leave buyers with an extra plate they’ll never use.

Maybe even offer nylon plates? I hear that eliminates a lot of ping etc. But from a logistical point might be a challenge?
