looks great but paper samples for plastic colors makes me nervous

this seems like a set that's not super sensitive to color matching though so it'll likely be fine

This is correct. If you look through the Imgur album it tells what the comparison keys are. I included caps from some current keysets to give people more of a sense of the color

This is correct. What we ended up doing was providing a few crucial keys across all those areas so that everyone could get something they’d like

Red is notoriously difficult to capture faithfully, it often comes out more saturated than it really is. I'd not worry about it too much ;-)

Interestingly enough, red is also one of the hardest colors to keep accurate when compressed digitally.  It doesn’t compress as well as other colors.
A good example of this difficulty can be found in early dvds - and its very obvious in them when they used red text on end credits. (There’s usually a lot of color bleeding)

This was an area that I went through some debate on. Had I included the yellow f5-8 keys in the base, that would have meant adding 4 additional keys to the midnight kit in order to keep coverage. Ultimately I decided that by making the whole F-row uniform in the base we could keep the cost of both kits appropriate. Hope you understand

As you stated, teal and yellow could use a little bit more saturation.
The dark blue to me is a tad too saturated though. Would look black in indoor lighting imo.

Got my deskmats today. The large one looks great, but what's up with the messed up aspect ratio on the smaller one? All the "circles" are clearly oval. It looks like the middle portion of the large deskmat was resized horizontally to fit on the small deskmat. Pretty disappointed with that...
