I saw a CM storm quick fire rapid for sale on ebay, it is in used condition, used probably 2 to 3 months, and the seller is selling it for $60. Should I buy it?

I bought a Smith Corona typewriter with what - I was hoping - was a set of beautiful great thick spherical doubleshots.

It turned out that they are too big to be compatible

Along with the caps, I have the stems which are long and deep, depending on whatever somebody intended to do with them.

Ripster has a "how to" for making them work with Dremel/jigs/epoxy but I just don't have the time.

What can I get for them, realistically?

They go on sale new at that price quite often.  If you can't wait, get it.  If you can, grab a new one for the same price.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking too...  I've started accumulating Poker parts when I see them come up for sale, to assemble one or two for myself, the only ones I've seen for sale have gone for quite a bit more than $100.

I'm in the market for a case, and ideally I'm looking for a low-profile Poker case. How often does something like that show up, and how much does it go for?

yeah, the IBM 1391406 "model M" is buckling spring (over membrane). It has 2KRO, and the spacebar is probably ABS (other keys are dyesub PBT. Some things to note
1. It's in good shape for a display model. Not too much dirt, etc.
2. on the other hand, it's missing a keycap (. on the tenkey)
3. and one of the legs is broken (You can get replacements from unicomp)
4. its from 1995, this is very new. I think unicomp started in 1996 maybe?
5. sellelr uses a horrible font in their description and refers to it as "ORIGINAL ... CLICKITY CLICK KEYBOARD" :D

All of these are factors which affect the price. I'd say only bid if you are okay with missing a keycap, don't plan to use the legs, and want a fairly clean model M.

If you're okay with doing a bit of cleaning, other (dirtier) model M's can be had for less, but if it's at 30 GBP now, I imagine it'll go higher. I don't really follow the UK ebay for IBM prices, but I have got several model M's on the US ebay for ~ $30

Anyone knows a rough price for a second-hand MX-Brown Poker? with pink on black pbt.
depends on how long it's been used. Though pokers are a bit rarer now, because they don't make em anymore, and the PBT caps probably add to the value, my guess is somewhere between 100-120

IBM Model M Soft Touch 8184692. A little dirty but everything works perfect and is intact. Also, what do these go for NIB?

Price check for my Poker X with blacks.

I have the "better" original keycaps. I believe they were made from ABS. I also have barely used white and brand new black keycaps made for the Poker from Mavs GB from about a year ago.

I'd say you could get ~$100 out of it with caps.

Can anybody tell me reasonable prices for the following?

> Cherry G80-3000HSMGB/04 & G80-3000HSMGB/05 (MX Blue, dual-shot, UK ISO layout, PS/2). Some have fairly unworn keycaps, others are slightly shiny, one is missing *one* keycap.

> Cherry G80-3000HQMGB/05 (MX Clear, dual-shot, UK ISO layout, PS/2 - not planning on selling this one but interested whether it is worth more than the blue HSMGB boards?).

> Compaq MX11800 (working trackball, UK ISO layout, regular keycaps)

$8-12 per 100 I would think.

Depends on the weight. People seem to be after the lighter weights of 62g and 55g (dunno if 55g came in gold) more than the heavier weights such as 65g. If you're after the 62g or 55g, you could be looking at more trades than buying them. I bought my bag of 65g springs for $8 shipped from demik a few months back.

I would also say the supply of them may cause an increase in the market value of them. Don't surprised if people want to charge more, and don't even want to sell but want to trade for other things.

Thanks for the info SmallFry and jd. I was expecting the gold ones to be far more expensive than the silvers.

Of course. I was just looking for a very general value.

That's the thing. How can we make an estimated value when people won't sell them, or at least sell them publicly? The only I've seen around were for trading, and the trade value seems to indicate they hold them at a higher value than $8-12.
