I believe it's actually PS-PVD Plasma PVD with a ceramic coating (very tough), but I will have to confirm that. I think it will fair up to fingerprints very well :)

So its PVD not CVD?

That mirror finish may still pick up fingerprints though kinda like the new mirror black iPhone 7

Hey mate, no, it's not. I mean it will fit on a Topre stem - but it will fall off, with a bit of ingenuity and tape it'll friction fit nicely. It does however fit on Novatouch stems :)

I don't market these as Topre stem though, as I really think it needs to snap fit for it to be defined as one

I've also ordered another sample from the manufacturer with the bead-blasted underside for checking :)

Haha, wish I could say those white gloves where mine! :P Those photos where from the manufacturer, I'll take some nicer ones once they arrive!

Well, these wont exactly be coming with gloves.... butttttt, they're coming with something else cool ;) ;)

Also, here is a photo of the underside, went the extra mile to get these beadblasted at the base. So the top surface is polished and the underside is beadblasted!

I'd also like to thank everyone that has ordered these so far, I understand that they're super expensive, but I hope that the price reflects the quality of this product when you receive them in your hands! :)

And *way* sexier than the Daft Punk things on MD. "I have one word for you. PVD." (Although I will say the detail work on those is really nice. Someone either has a nice 5-axis machine, or the patience of a monk with Alzheimers.)

Hah! Yeah, I think it was a good decision to get the bead-blasted undercarriage. The Daft Punk caps definitely looked cool.

The 2 samples have been shipped. I will be getting them in my hands hopefully Monday/Tuesday!

TMX is super difficult to machine due to the undercut, it would require a custom/special tool. The rigid stainless steel also cannot flex as compared to plastic which is required for the snap fit.

However, this stem will actually fit on a Topre stem, which can be seen with my other caps. But it will not be a tight fit - you could create a shim to make it hold on tight though!

I noticed that on my zeals, the space grey had a very loose fit and would come off upon a single press.

Hey dude yeah, you'll find that they'll fit terribly on some switches, and well on others - I use cherry blue and they fit perfect. That's one thing that's really problematic with doing a metal stem, I'm going to refine it a bit to have a little more friction so hopefully it holds on better for most switches :)

So fingerprints do show on them, if you're really bothered by fingerprints then you can spray an oleophobic coating on it.

They keycaps have been polished - just a delay on the PVD coating manufacturer, they're waiting for other parts to add to the batch. But will be shipped once that's all complete :)

UPDATE: Hmmm for some reason, the PVD supplier who did the sample can't do them at quantity. Being moved to a new supplier who will be able to do it :) Will update everyone when it's complete. Cheers!
