I know I haven't been in the mech game for very long, so saying this may not have much weight, but this is one of the best things I've ever seen. I didn't know that pricing was even possible. I cannot WAIT to join the GB. Hail king RAMA, Originative, and everyone involved.

Any chance for a bottom row with 3x 1u caps instead of the 2x 1.5u to the right of space bar?  Otherwise loving the layout options.  That oversized case is just...

Someone from Originative Co has been answering questions on Reddit, and has provided the following info:

- They are planning to release details on the GMK set soon, and are currently working on some of the finer details of the set. It was implied that the included set will be just enough caps to cover the board.

- The switches that will be offered in the Premium kit will be Gaterons. It looks like MOD switches will also be available for an extra fee.

- EDIT: This will be a classic GB, not raffle.


I will update this if I see more info. Someone asked if this will be a classic GB or raffle style, so I'll be keeping my eye on that question for an answer.

Or there is some LED like how the Zeal60 PCB implemented it?

Also what is the diameter of the switch pin holes?
I am looking for PCB that can do some easy hotswappable mods and 1.5mm pin hole size is compatible for some receptacles (forgot those for LEDs):

It mostly likely means the former. It looks like they plan on having a Polycarbonate/nylon base to support it

Now is unlikely. We have planning to launch the GB in about a week time.

Interesting idea, few questions,
What will be plate material and options?
Where will it be shipped from?
I assume the GMK set will just be enough compatibility for this board?
It says steel feet in materials, but under extras is steel feet. Are those just larger feet?
What are the roles of each of the people helping you with this project?

That's a lot of questions. The plate is made of aluminum, what do you mean by plate options? Yes, you will have enough keys to support the proposed layouts. And yes, the feet is made of steel. Standard kit comes with a feet that raises your board at 8 degree angle. While you can purchase the "taller" feet, to raise your board at 12 degree angle. I just obtained a 456gt recently, I must say I enjoy 12 degree angle very much. They are my friends, it's really hard for me for to explain here since there are too many of them. We are working together to bring a proper custom board to the community.

Wow. I don't know but I think this will be better than ramabae because I don't have that much money. 250 for pcb case and switches aaaand caps. That's so cheap there has to be a downside...  But i hope not ;-)

At this price point, I'm gonna go with a big nope. If you read up on it, you will see why.

Never even heard of it before but from having a quick read of the FAQ on their website I would imagine there is 0% chance of that: https://www.surreynanosystems.com/vantablack/faqs

Seems to be quite a few restrictions around it and very difficult/costly to manufacture.

Will the bottom polycarbonate block be that smaller rectangle?  Matte translucent?  Is that text on the bottom going to be engraved in the plastic or will there be a plate covering the plastic where the text will be engraved?  Just trying to visualize what it will look like, since your sketches are not indicating what materials will be used where.  Thank you.

I really don't understand the whole glowing keyboard fad, the smooth finish on the render is tasteful... the nylon cutting board texture of the M65-A isn't in my opinion.

I think the renders are different just based off of how the EXENT text looks from the picture that was posted. The M65-A does have an aluminum base option btw if you don't care for the nylon with underglow.

I've always wanted to try split spacebar because I never press it with my left thumb, and having an extra key in close range seems quite beneficial. It looks like the split spacebar gap will be really close to where I press and could cause issues.  Anyone have feedback that has tried a split spacebar?

I almost always hit it with my right thumb just to the left edge of the "N" key, but sometimes drift over to between the "B" and "N" key.
