Do you need to buy the base set if you're buying through massdrop?

I'm planning to get a few keys only.

What about S&H cost at massdrop? Would it be better than SP?

Great news with Massdrop! I think it's worth trying with this spectatular set  :thumb:

What will this mean for the kits? I guess the many small kits are not feasible for Massdrop right?

Would kinda suck if people from Round 1 can't add little things to their existing sets without buying everything again...

My sentiments exactly.
I hope we can keep it broken into a few good chunks.

I fear my 12 nerdom kits may not happen. =/

no panic guys! I agreed to go through Massdrop because they agreed on keeping all our precious kits!

shipping should be between $8 and $20 based on the number of kits you take.

for korean or japanese kits I'd need the full list of unicode characters, if anyone is interested...
There's a few of them:
Korean Hangul (2,028 characters)
Code Table Japanese Hiragana and Katakana (172 characters)
Full (I think) Unicode Kanji Table: http://www.rikai.com/library/kanjitables/kanji_codes.unicode.shtml

and the way they are lied out on the keyboard of course :)

From what I could find on the interwebbes, it seems like there are a few different Korean layouts, but Dubeolsik is the national standard. There's a good picture of it on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout#mediaviewer/File:KB_South_Korea.svg

I ain't so acclimated here yet so it will be probably rude question: Why the hell would anyone wants a Korean or Japanese keyboard layout?? There is lack of Klingone keyboards or everyone just know Korean or Japanese language?

I'm trimming down the intl kit. Is there still interest for IT, DK and ES?
Why not just 1big pack? It should have less keys than the sum of the 2 kits.
Still too much $$$?

it would end up an 80 keys kit. probably more expensive than a full keyboard set

we either have gray or blue ISO enter, we can't have both. Since R1 had gray this time we are having them blue.

Please review the kits so far. I miss the international kits, the spacebars and probably the multimedia. What do you think of the new additions?

Thanks for adding in the Mission Control and Launchpad icons to the Apple kit!  :thumb:

I see you also added back in the keyboard brightness keys. Personally, to make this a perfect kit for me, I'd rather not have those but get the caret 1.5u control keys. I would think that'd be more popular with most Mac users as not everyone has a keyboard with backlighting - especially one they'd want to put non-backliteable (is that a word?)  keycaps on.

Sorry to keep bringing this up, but I figure best try getting the keys I want before they keys get finalized. Never hurts to ask, as they say.  ;D

And, I'm not sure from your post if you are thinking of not including the multimedia keys. If so, let me say that I'd very much like to get that and if you could add an eject key to it, even better.  :D

I'm not sure how many people want the SUN logo - I know I do, but I'd
personally prefer a monochrome version matching the default font color if
possible. This would fit the overall color scheme better IMHO. Opinions?
Anyway, big thanks for adding it! :)

Also, I do not like the absence of a gray ISO option (especially since it
looks like every other layout can get one - provided they buy one or more
additional kits) :(

So, done complaining :) Thanks for all the effort! :)

Could we get a 1u FN key added to the Specialty kit? This way I think the Common Kit, one of the Text Modifiers/Icon Modifiers/Text RGB/Icon RGB, and Specialty Kit would cover a JD40.

Edit: Although I guess you could use F1/F2/etc. from the Common Kit as FN keys. :) Just trying to figure out the minimum kits needed to cover a JD40.

I'm in the same boat. No desire to have tons of WASD/esc keys but damn do I want that space invader. I'm probably going to pass it over if I have to buy a pack of 30+ keys for the one lone key I want.

Will the specialty kit cover the JD40?

Aside from what's been mentioned so far, any reason for the non-dish F and J keys being in the Homing Set and not included into the Common Kit like Round 1?

With the way sets are distributed it looks like I'll have to buy some sets for only a few keys.

I'd much rather have the colored gamer keys separate from the novelty keys and have orange be included in the gamers as well - loving the blue arrows and escape. Also is looks like the light gray F-keys are gone completely with the parting up of lost and found, not too broken up about it but others might be.

Dressing a JD40 requires: Common, Text Mods or Icon Mods, and the Speciality Keyboard Kit.(YOU WILL HAVE NOVELTY KEYS ON YOUR BOTTOM ROW AND HAVE TO USE YOUR EXTRA ENTER AS LSHIFT)
Dressing a 60% or TKL requires: Common, Text Mods or Icon Mods.
  • RGB mods can replace modifiers for sub TKL keyboards.
  • For 1.5 mods you need a Text Pro Modifier or Icon Pro Modifier kit.
  • For a 104 layout add a Numpad.
  • For ISO add an ISO Enter key.(don't see a couple symbols right now)

Little more love for the ergodox users please. Was looking at some common ergodox L0 layouts and these could come handy.
add:
2u Space
1.5u ESC in color
2x 1.5u Shift in color
1u Ctrl in color

Perhaps even some:
1u L- and L+
1.5u  L- and L+
1u L0

Well I currently just observing  my Ergodox options since Iam still waiting for the parts to actually build it. So no experience really of what is needed.

Same boat, I don't really want to buy the extra WASDs & Esc keys just to get the /r/MK & portal caps... but I probably will  :p

I'm sure making kits to please everyone is impossible or we'd have 10K different little add on kits; suppose it supports a healthy trading economy as well

Just musing here.  Now that we’re going with Massdrop, I wonder if creating a blank ErgoDox modifier set might be good idea for increasing orders.  (ie 20 - 1x keys, 12 - 1.5x keys and 4 - 2x keys, all blanks.)  Massdrop is a notable supplier of ErgoDox and to my knowledge has never dropped an ErgoDox compatible set of keycaps with legends (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong).  By going with Massdrop, you’re getting access to the same crowd. While you can’t please everyone, combining the common set with an ErgoDox modifier set would be pretty flexible.  Providing an easy way for previous ErgoDox customers to get a complete set of keycaps with legends just might get a few more common orders and a lower price for everyone.

Is there any chance we could get 1x RGB versions of ctrl, alt, and shift, please? I can see them coming in really handy for the JD40 and the non-standard upcoming Massdrop keyboard.
