It's hard to believe IBM made the Model F and the PCjr keyboard at the same time. I cannot think of two different products.

YES indeed, the Model-F was designed by Engineers and the PCjr by inept Accountants.

The result is very obvious to anyone who follows IBM Folklore  8) .

If anyone's feeling particularly masochistic and wants one of these keyboards for themself, looks like Elecplus has some:

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I feel creative and I would like to reuse the case for a 60%ish keyboard. Does anyone know how much room there is in the inside?
