Title: Keypro sk108
Post by: ItIsWritten on Thu, 31 December 2020, 03:54:29
Hi All,

So I got a Keypro Sk108 on AliExpress as it is was reasonably priced and has hotswap switches on a full size keyboard, which is really rare. The only problem is that the instructions and software are only in Chinese and it's driving me nuts.

Two things I can't figure out:
-how to get the win keys working (left win key and menu key) as they don't respond at the moment
-how to set the colour for the leds

I manage to get the led lighting on or off, but I really can't figure out how to change the colours to a nice static colour. The seller isn't much help either. They don't seem to speak much English themselves.

Anyone have experience with this keyboard and figured this out yet?

Okay, little update. It seems that out of all the switches the only two I seated wrong were the win and menu key.  :D

So that problem is solved.

It's a rebadged Everglide Sk108, not that that seems to help anything as there simply isn't much out there.
Trying to get support on boards like this are a nightmare, when it links to a Google Drive for drivers, that often means it was someone who bought a bunch of them, slapped a sticker on it and isn't planning to offer any long term support.

There's a link to the software on the Ali Express page, but my understanding is it's REALLY terrible. I would try using the open source Via software and just see if it can spot it. Maybe, just maybe they used something it can read. After that try any other software you can find. Preferably on a computer you don't mind filling with garbage.

Thanks for the info. Will definitely Via.

I just received this in the mail and god it has been a nightmare trying to get this to work. My PC can't even detect the device?? Nothing lights up at all. Did you have to install anything first to get it to work?

My pc immediately detected it. I've been using it for a week now, and the only problem is that I can't find a satisfactory lighting, but that's minor, because I use double shot, opaque keycaps, so the lighting only bleeds from the edges and I use my board during the day. In fact, if there was no lighting, it wouldn't have bothered me as much.

I am using a Windows PC though, so I don't know if there would be a problem with Linux recognising the board.

That sounds like a bad cable or D.O.A.
