Need some recommendations on linear switches
« on: Thu, 15 June 2023, 11:36:50 »
I know an opinion of a switch is highly personal but I'm really new to the custom keyboard world so I have very few references. I want to buy new switches that are somewhat budget friendly and are also better than my current ones https://showbox.bio/  https://vidmate.cool/ .

The keyboard I'm using now is a keychron V6 with keychrons K pro red switches. They're fine now but want to upgrade them later. The two switches I was maybe thinking of buying were Milky Yellows and Star meteor whites. Anyone any new recommendations or comments on these two?

Also, I need some recommendations of where to buy lube and what to buy.

I'm after some nice linears and after reading a lot of stuff about those new ones, I picked and going to buy soon - Gateron Ink Black box switches. Those new, box versions.
Apparently are very good and thocky.

I enjoy Milky Yellows for the following reasons, personally:

- Milky Yellow switches are light-pressure linear switches without any bumps or clicks. Typing becomes silent and fluid as a result.
- Milky Yellows may be typed quickly with little effort and don't wear you out after a long day.
- This switch may light from under the keycap when used with backlit keycaps thanks to its Milky top housing design, which has a transparent top cover. This produces stunning effects.

I changed my mind and got Oil Kings instead.
Amazing, no addition lube required. I only swapped spring to 85g.
