If we are very very lucky, there will never be a GB like this ever again.

Lol, I was just hanging out with RCT and he asked me, "hey, did 7bit ever finish Round 4?"

NOPE! Not yet! (lolz all around)

>.>

Not trolling, well maybe just a little. If it's actually getting done and everyone is truly getting their keys this year, that's awesome, bravo. 2 years was totally worth it!

I really liked R4. I’ll always trade speed for more options. :P

Haha...well actually the speed was not it's main problem, but that is neither here nor there.  I'm sure 7bit agrees...let's hope we never have to go through this again!

I have and still do give props to 7bit for sticking with it until now.  My mind can hardly fathom the sorting project in front of him now.

I inquired about details back in October of 2011 and since then lost track/interest.
I think round 4 was supposed to be a smaller/quicker run coming off a "long" round 3 but I guess things escalated lol

Big thanks to 7bit for organizing this and making it happen.

I have a feeling that many of the sets will go on sale in the aftermarket once these start arriving.  I know my tastes have changed quite a bit since I ordered... and I was one of the last!

No doubt, Round 4 is a great success as far as getting additional legends.  A big part of the community can't get the keys they want and use via normal group buys.  Took forever, but pretty monumental as to it's scope.

I probably will be. I have three different sets coming, and plan on only having two boards (both with GMK DS sets) in the next couple of months.

Those look great. Could someone enlighten me on how the profile/shape of those keys feel? Do they enable or hinder typing speed?

Seconded.

I'm wondering how these keys will actually operate on a keyboard. Is it going to be one of those moments when a great idea just falls flat? I love the look of the sphericals; but I'm also curious to see how well they work on a keyboard. DSA looks to be lower than DCS, and SA is... higher than DCS? (Arch those fingers whilst typing) -- I'm hoping someone will have a terminal set I can buy.

We'll see when the keys finally ship and the review come in.

I may sell my R3-style set if it ever arrives. I've mostly switched to Topre (except for a couple backup keyboards) since I placed my order in October 2011.

Seems these are still in demand, as I've had several PMs about my R3 set. I'm currently looking in to transferring my order to the first guy who contacted me. But I'll add your name to the queue in case that falls through.

it's not open. it's been produced and is currently being sorted by 7bit. he has a few random single keys and small sets leftover for sale, but you'd have to check the round 4 thread on deskthority.net for what that actual list is.

Hmmm, maybe the reason Round 4 took so long is that 7bit was dreading the day this mountain of keycaps would arrive at his doorstep:

On the other hand, he took our money, and he promised us keycaps, so he should deliver the keycaps.

If 7bit told us that he needs to hire staff to package and ship the keycaps, I would be willing to pay a few bucks more to get him some helpers.

If not, he should get cracking on those boxes.

There is always a solution to a problem like this.  I just hope 7bit doesn't take another 12 months to come up with one.

He actually said it's going to take 3 weeks for sorting. He's done sorting the SPH kits, and the Round3/Orange kits. Said there's only been two keys missing so far.
