Get used to LEDs, guys. Bright light, long life, instant on, little electricity, almost no heat - what's not to like - except pain?
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Weren't halogen headlights banned for the same exact reason?

I agree with everyone else, LED headlights are too friggin' bright, and their light spectrum causes excess glare.

People wouldn't mind them so much if they were properly designed.
This is something the NTSA is now looking at, as basically manufacturers are making them brighter and brighter, but not bothering to control where that light goes. Some of the brightest lights happen to be some of the worst for driver visibility because it's just being scattered everywhere. If you have ever seen euro lamps or some of the newer Korean lamps (I know the Hyundai Tuscon does), they have a very strong cutoff that helps oncoming drivers avoid a lot of the glare.  The NTSA is not going to regulate them, but they are going to start giving them ratings for how good of visibility they provide so maybe it will help drive development finally.

Also car manufacturers are now trying to get world standards for cars so they have fewer hurdles. The regulations they face is insane and often for stupid BS because of a patent or one manufacturer trying to mess with another (like below).

Weren't halogen headlights banned for the same exact reason?

The E.U. had halogens decades before the U.S., not because of how bright they were, but because Mercedes got them first and GM was afraid of Mercedes coming here.
I don't know how true all of that is, I can't find anything on it, however I do know that US federal regulations did limit headlights exclusively to sealed beams and certain sizes (and numbers) from the 50's to the late 70's, which made it hard fro some Euro brands to import cars here. When the 80's rolled around, two things changed, they wanted to be rid of glass headlights because of the mess they made in an accident and they wanted to streamline the cars for better aerodynamics. It's often pretty easy to identify some of the earliest cars that switched away from sealed beam by the horrible yellowing of the headlight lenses.

Oh, and F those people who shove HIDs into normal housings. The bulbs are different and need a different housing to properly shape the light. You're blinding everyone in your path.

i'm pretty sure i blind tons of ppl w/ my LED's

actually the LED's on my civic are so powerful, high beams don't add any extra light lulz, and actually give off a "dim" yellow'ish light cuz they're still halogen.

Great way to get into a traffic accident, or cause someone else to have one.

Also great way to give an insurance adjuster a way to invalidate a claim.
