Leftover Sale Link http://goo.gl/forms/6VqdV1uJ2vxudsaj1

Orders Closed
Hello and welcome to TheVan 44 Group Buy!

PCBs, cnc milled aluminum cases and plates, stabilizers, hardware and keycaps!

$164.00 for the kit (pcb, case, plate, stabilizers, and hardware)
$56.00 per set of keycaps

TheVan 44 is unique in that it was designed around the use of two function layers accessible from either side of the keyboard to maximize layer usability.

I am working with local manufactures to bring you a mostly made in USA keyboard.  The PCBs are printed in China and assembled in the US.  The case and plate are manufactured and anodized in Arizona.

This Group Buy is limited to 100 Kits.  We need to reach 50 kits for this to happen.

1. This buy will run from April 1st until April 30th, unless all 100 kits are claimed sooner.
2. From the end of the buy I will give everyone 1 week to pay their invoices.
3. Orders will then be submitted to manufacturers.  I have been quoted with 4-6 week lead time.  Of course this could go over by a week or two.
4. Once I receive the goods I will be mailing out all the orders.  I'm expecting to have all orders sorted and shipped within a week.

Expected Ship Date of June 1 to June 22.

TheVan 44 PCB
TheVan 44 PCB designed by evangs supports a simple staggered layout with modifier keys surrounding the alphas.  The PCB works with TMK firmware and is fully programmable.  LED Backlighting is supported.  The PCB contains smd components and comes fully assembled.

TheVan 44 Case
TheVan 44 is housed in a custom cnc milled aluminum case and waterjet cut plate designed by evangs.  The plate and case can be anodized independently in the following colors: Black, Silver, Teal, Purple, Red and Orange.

Midnight Drive Keycaps
The Midnight Drive Keycap set is produced by Signature Plastics in the DCS profile with the rows 1 2 3 3.  The keycaps are optional but highly recommended as they will give you 100% key support for TheVan 44 layout.

Stabilizers + Hardware
All screws required for case assembly are included.  Costar stabilizers are included.

What Else Do I Need?
The only other things you will need are:
Switches - any mx style switch should work
Keycaps - Why not grab a set of Midnight Drive?
LEDs - only if you want to backlight your board
Mini USB Cable

Shipping
US Shipping is $13.45
Canada is $15.50
International Shipping is $22.50

Hopefully someone can offer an alternative for international shipping; that cost is pretty crippling.

Don't do flat rate priority. First class international is the way to go.

I just go to USPS.com and calculate the rate to Great Britain, since most int'l destinations cost the same. You need to know your package dimensions and weight.

So what is the color of your case/plate in the picture? It seems kinda orange to me.

The orange looks nice.  Not sure I can swing it so close to the JD45 and Planck buys though  :-\  Guess we will see closer to the end of the buy.  What do you think wallet?

Loving this idea! I'm not that good at telling key sizes by image but it looks like...

The FN1 and CTRL are interchangeable and are 1.25u?
The left Shift and Backspace are 1.75u?
The right FN1 is 1.5u?
The bottom row is 1.5u, 1.5u, 1.25u, 2.25u, 2.25u, 1.25u, 1.5u, 1.75u?

If I'm right does that mean that the "Game" keycap can't be replaced if I use this keyset?

I have more key sets than I know what to do with and I'm thinking that I may have something I can use also but not sure yet.

Hmm... I've been wanting another 40% since I sold my planck (couldn't get used to the ortho layout) so this looks like it might be perfect for me! I'll have to think about it though... My wallet is hurting from some fairly sizeable rc purchases recently... I think I'll probably get in on this though!!!

That orange is really nice. It may be a game changer for me. Any chance we could see samples of the other colors?

Thank you.  The orange came out better than I imagined, I'm really happy with it

That orange is really nice. It may be a game changer for me. Any chance we could see samples of the other colors?
I don't have anything anodized in the other colors, but I will look for some pictures that are close

you've seen the orange.  The silver will look very similar to the case before it was anodized.

Thanks. I think I'll stick with what I submitted.

I joined the planck on massdrop but I think I may like this layout better, but just to be safe I'll buy both  ;)

Is it a big deal if I later decide I don't want the keycaps?

Do I need plate or PCB mounted switches?

Awesome!  Not a huge deal if you opt out of the keycaps,  but we do need 50 sets to run them ;)

Either switch will work but plate will be easier to work with. Optionally you can cut off the pcb mount pins.  There are holes for the pcb mount pins, but they are tight and make assembly more difficult
