gojira54 was very kind and sent me the WY50 PCB to play with
I think the WY50 keyboard should work with my Controller firmware already
Well let's see...
Plugged it into a Teensy with some female-to-female jumper wires:
Using these pins on the PCB connector (as detailed above, and skipping the shield ground on pin 1):
Hacked up a config for my Controller firmware:
WYSE_WY50.sc (3.39 kB - downloaded 212 times.)
And it 'just worked' when I loaded it up and started shorting keys out
Since the PCB had no switches in it, the sense_delay and debounce settings might need a minor tweak, but basically it was working OK.
I don't have the case, but if it's the same sort of size as the WY60 keyboard then there isn't a lot of room inside, probably not enough for a Teensy with pins and jumper wires. If I was properly modding one, I think I'd remove the PCB connector and solder wires directly, with the Teensy sitting on top of the PCB roughly where the connector was.
